  1. Nice result!!! T518Z or Garrett equivalent????
  2. Edit: Turbo are T517Z with 10cm2 housing. Engine is out of the car and turbo can be supplied with the engine. Trust front diff cover has been replaced with the original cover. The engine is in SA atm. Sorry for any inconvenience.
  3. Hi, yes it's been a long time since that SAU cruise. Boost builds up around 3-3.5krpm and it gets to full boost at 5krpm. From 5krpm to 8.5krpm, it's linear and ballistic. I did 1:20 and a drive instructor did 1:18 at Mallala with the setup. I will be taking these turbo off my car soon when the T618Zs arrive. If you like I can keep you inform how this goes. My car is in SA atm. If you like to catch up let me know. I will let you know when I have a chance to go back to SA.
  4. The t517z 10cm made 422rwkw on my rb26. They were usable on the track.
  5. I had a chance to drive 3 cars with RB30DETT. Their turbo are twin TD06, T04Z and twin T517Z. The T04z was laggy and wouldn't' be appropriate for the track. Try T518Z or T517Z with 10cm housing
  6. Great to meet you too. Sorry I could not hang around for long. Had overheating issues. Hope to see you again soon.
  7. sorry but how much is a set of black sticker with the group buy?
  8. Thanks Dyn. I bought a slightly stroked engine from Willallracing and have maxed out the T517Z. They currently have awesome midrange but are choking my top end. I can't produce any more top end power with them compare to the 2.6L. My tuner is tweaking it atm and I will see how it perform at the track.....but I think I will go bigger eventually
  9. I would love to hear more about the T518Z too. I have a Greddy oil cooler kit and the oil temp has been fine at QR raceway. I only overheated once at Mallala but that was possibly from air in my coolant system. Thanks for the info Daynamix;) I thought they are T5178Z all along How is this differ from a T618Z and what would I expect with the larger turbo? BTW the previous power was achieved with 18psi.
  10. Im no expert with turbo but it's a T517Z with 10cm housing. Does this make it a T518Z?

  14. There is nothing wrong with 400rwkw....well unless you want more Why not try the T517Z? I had them on my old setup and was able to put out 422rwkw on Willallracing dyno. The setup was a fun and reliable package for drag/circuit for 2 years aldready. I upgraded the engine and maxed out these turbo with my current setup. I am looking at getting the T618Z's. I will use the T517Z for one more track day and will more than likely replace them with their larger bros. Does anyone have a pair of T618Z that they want to swap for a pair of T517Z? GTR747, if you are keen on these turbo or my complete old setup let me know. I changed the engine because the cam seals were old and a bit leaky but other than that the engine was still strong I still have the power fc map for this setup. All you need to do is recondition the head, replace the rings, get a pair of manifold and you will have a reliable setup. My car and the spare RB26 are in SA atm too BTW sorry to go off topic but just want to help
  15. how did you go last Saturday Mark?
  16. That's a very big plan Blue! Hope you get some extra spare time on your sleeves and get all of that done before the 12th It will be nice to see you out at Lala Flight is booked Andrew I will come out for a few quick fangs early in the morning and will keep an eye on the temp gauge. Have a beer with Keir at noon and may hit u up with the Schutzenfest offer Andrew. Happy new year everyone and hope to see u guys sooon
  17. I am planning to book my flight back to Adelaide for this event to test out my r32. How hot is it in Adelaide atm guys? Is it really that hot that I should be worried about? When is the next track day after the 12th of Jan?
  18. I've tracked less powerful cars, my stock s2000 and C32AMG, with street tyres before. After a couple of laps the tyres got too soft and it's not much fun. The stability control on the Merc prevent the car from loosing control but the s2k is more than a handful to control. The attessa system on the GTR is a beauty. With twice the power output of the c32, it doesn't have significant stability problem with street tyres until the tyres get too hot. So, it really depends on the format of the time attack. If it's a 20 mins session, then I would hate to see accidents on the track because people run around on overheated street tyres just because they want to qualify for this class. Also by allowing people to run only street tyres, you are not bridging the gaps between modern cars with stability control and cars without any electronic stability control system The questions are do we want any leveller in a time attack event where we should be trying to get the best time we can achieve and what is stopping someone from winding down the boost and use street tyres? What ever the classes will be, I will be keen to attend all of them if possible. I just hope that the rules will be simple without too many restriction. I will use all tyres; street, semi and slick; to see what is the best time I can achieve....just for the fun of it. As mentioned before, the winners will still be $100+g gtr and the extreme European exotica. Neither of which will be mine
  19. Lets not forget that this is intend to be a SAFE time attack event. The intention is build your best car, try to have fun on the track and achieve the best optimal time (SAFELY). It's looks like the main sticky point here is tyre selection. Is there any reason why we could not have 3 simple and fair classes of shonky street tyres, semi slick and slick? Personally, I don't care about a $50 trophy. I care about the racing spirit, my safety and being able to drive the car to the track without getting ping for using slick on the street. I will never put street tyres on my GTR cause it's just so unsafe and I will get kick off the track for drifting as well So can we agree to disagree on the tyre aspects. What's next? Trims/panels/chassis modification?
  20. nxtime, I am keen on more information on teh stillway as well. PJ. it's been tested before by my friend on his straight cut dogbox and the impression is poor.
  21. Thanks Andrew Keir has been too helpful aldready I don't really want to ask him too much favour. Willall racing/LS1turbo hired the track a couple of times this year aldready and I think they have completed most of their testings. I was planning to leave the r32 in Adelaide until their next big track day but I have to bring it back to QLD earlier than expected. I am just hoping that some other clubs are not too scare of the summer heat and will organise a track day early in Jan. Much appreciate if someone can give me a headup if that happens TIA
  22. This is a great idea Russ. I am keen How do the Japs classify the cars in Tsukuba Russ? I think we should keep it to bare basic and remove as many restrictions as possible otherwise it becomes too boring. There are aldready too many restrictions in other forms of racing in Australia. I recommend street class and open class. Street class should retain the dash, trims, AC, CD players and can use any tyres beside the slick. Open class is unrestricted. Fastest car in the class win. Easy and simple. If people are really keen on street tyres, then may be you could open another class eg non semislick/slick tyres class.
  23. Is there any club/social track day? Or is it too hot to do anything in SA ?
