  1. I broke 2 small input shafts, lay shaft bearing and need to replace 2nd gear. No ignition cut. I always double clutch on downshift on the race track and during slow driving around the street I found the same thing. The delay from shifting in 2 stages allows the gears speeds to match. I find double clutching on upshift (and down shift as well) on the street doesn't produce any noise what so ever during shift.....very gentle and graceful. Flat out driving there is only one joyful way of doing it as R33 racer stated. However I still have occasional trouble with 1-->2nd and often use the clutch for this. Does anyone have any special trick with 1-->2nd?
  2. I am cool with that Cubes. I am in no rush to change it yet as the diff is not slipping yet but I think it will be soonish
  3. Giant, sorry I could not come to QR early enough to see your car. How did you go? Is there any chance that you could post some pics of the lexan windows? I think I need give my skyline the Jenny Craig diet
  4. How much power is in the GTR? What the proportion of track/street? What tyres will you be using? I've an OS synchro box and a ppg helical dogbox. The OS is ultra reliable if you have mechanical sympathy. The dogbox NEEDED & HAD regular maintenance. I've had my shares of failures with the dogboxes in my cars. I am currently using the OS in the GTR and will only put the dogbox back when my car is all sorted and I need to look for that extra 0.5 sec lol I missed too many track days with the dogbox The best thing to do is try to go for a drive in one. Dogbox is not a cup of tea for everyone. Even if you've mastered the technique, it is still a pain to drive in peak traffic. It is awesome on the track or times when you don't value your license. PS: NOTHING is indestructible in the GTR Don't think that because you pay 10k for a gearbox it will never break down.
  5. If you are keen on the OS, give willallracing/LS1turbo a call..... I think they have an OS in stock. I may be selling my used ATS soon, if I can't get a buyer for my current engine.
  6. Hi guys, it's been a long time since I posted in the SA section. I hope everyone is well, healthy and happy I like to control the engine bay temp for my circuit GTR and looking at getting some ceramic coating for the rear housing of the T518Z's. Is there any pro or cons of doing so? Does the ceramic coat peel off? Is there any reliable places in Adelaide that can do this? Thanks in advance
  7. Beer, could you let me know when you order one for Cube? I will be keen on one as well.
  8. Yes it's the gear stick and not little junior I have a R34 RB25DET gearbox with helical dog gears and the gear stick partially popped out of the selector rail twice, while still retained by the circlip. This gearbox was at another workshop, long time ago, where a GTR gear stick was accidentally installed....and it was replaced ...or so I've been told, with a RB25 gear stick. I am not sure from which RB25DET model the stick came from either. It's a bit weird that it popped out of its place and made it very difficult to select 2nd, 4th and reverse gear....made a workshop think I bent a selector fork and wanted to do surgery on the box... until I went to the shop today, pulled the gear stick out and reinstalled it, and everything is fine :laughing-smiley-014: Is there a difference in the stick or the retaining plastic below the circlip between the GTR and GTS-t or between different RB25 models (R32/33/34)?
  9. Is there any further update on this? It would be awesome!!!

  11. Make that 2 Russell. I will be chasing after you in my other track/street car I think I will need a few more ricer hondas to block u at the front though
  12. ooooppppps I misread ur post Sorry!
  13. That still doesn't mean that his street registered car is the one at the drag strip or he use all of this power on the street. Common guys, don't you guys know that the police get on this forum too. You might as well go to a police station and report "DRAGM3" rather than talking about street registration on here Congrat for the 9sec. I love to see the video.
  14. Good luck with the project giant, it will be nice to see you guys and the beast again at QR. I think QR next print day is on Sat the 15th of Sep Duncan, how much weight did you shave off with the lexen? I don't see why it should be illegal....if anything it will help to cushion the pedestrian head during an accident
  15. Would a well kept Aus delivered R32GTR for 30k interest you?
  16. I'll be interest in a set just in case of rainy day Any chance of group buy or something like that Beer? How soon can you get that in Beer? Cubes, where will you be taking ur diff to for rebuild in SA?
  17. I am keen on 255/40/17 too depending on the price
  18. the hks still need the original ignitor. Adriano, can you post some more info on the triton? Who sell them?
  19. where did you get the left head light? It looks good.
  20. When I get a bit more spare time I am looking at getting a stroker kit for my track r32gtr. The 2.6 has twin T518Z 10cm housing atm. Is there any problem with using them with a 2.8 or 3.0 engine? I am after some more midrange and around 450rwkw.
  21. Martin Donnon on HPI magazine did similar conversion before. He installed a RB26DETT onto a R33GTSt 4 doors with an automatic gearbox. He used my old R32GTR power fc for the car. I think they installed some sort of harness for the auto gearbox. Email HPI magazine for more info.
  22. I am too busy studying this year and may be most of next year so someone might as well enjoy this. I will be building a larger RB engine when I have more time. Engine was built in Japan and came with a R32 Vspec around 4 years ago. So the engine is pretty much an R33RB with unknown forged internals and capacity. The car has a lot of Mines bolt on stuff when it came over so it could have been built by them (but dont take my words for this). Whoever built this engine is GREAT. The cylinders compressions are all good and there is absolutely no blowby oil in the catch can regardless of drag or track activities. Engine does not use oil at all as well. Car has only been used mainly for weekend activities. Best time at Willowbank is 11.4@126mph and QR Sprint is 57.1 with RE55 and aggressive cambers of 4- in the front and 3- in the rear. I've only been to QR and Willowbank about 3 times each with the car. I think I can go faster at the drag if I reduce the camber, unload some weight and use drag radials but I have not had much time this year. All of the tuning and work was done by Willall Racing, Martin Donnon (when I was still in Adelaide), Tune and Matty Spry (since I moved to QLD). Engine has been conservatively tuned with pair of T518Z 10cm at 18-19psi for power graphs below. Castrol Edge synthetic oil is religiously changed before and sometimes after every track work too. -HKS 264 intake and exhaust cams -HKS cam gears -1.5 ATS carbon LSD This was only installed late last year and only been at QR sprint twice. Costed me around $2000. -Trust front diff back cover. Holds an extra 1 L of oil -Nissan water pump and Trust belt was replaced late last year -Engine may have after market baffle plate because I never have any oil surge problem. -Oil pump is unknown but what ever it is used on this engine I am happy to used it again with my next engine. Oil pump and engine survived many redline (conservative 8.5krpm) launches at the drag. Asking price is a bargain $9k. The new nissan water pump, Trust timing belt, cams gears, cams and lsd will easily cost you close to half of this asking price. Engine is still in car and currently located in Brisbane Who ever buy this engine please open it up, refresh it and let me know what clearances and parts were used. It is amazing. I love to be able to do that now but got to invest into my study atm I can include the trust t518z turbo, BDI fuel rail, injectors, nismo fuel regulator and the Djetro map for extra cost. I've spent a lot of money on the djetro map for full throttle, high way cruise and midrange power tuning. Engine refresh can be arranged too. Reluctant sale so serious buyer only ......please no joyriders. I will post some dyno graph up soon

  25. I am not sure what oil pump is in mine but what ever is in it I am happy to use it again. Basically the engine came with the car from Japan. It's an R33 engine built in Japan with all the Mines bolt on stuffs around the engine so it could have been built by Mines. Whoever built it did it well though. It has survived 3+ years of occasional track work, a few rev limiter launches and killed 2 PPG boxes + 1 axle. It has not miss a beat, doesn't use any oil and the catch can is always empty It's a mystery I am really keen to know what is inside but have not got time this year
