  1. A bit more seam welding over the weekend Those two rear bars just look wrong at the current location. I had a good look over the weekend and the material around the wheel arch is not that thick. I will talk to the cage builder and will get it redone before painting.
  2. Yes I would love to get Risking's opinion on this too The cage was built with a budget and I didn't want to add too much weight just in case I like to take the car for a few run in the 1/4 mile as well.
  3. What do you guys think of the cage? I would love to get your opinion on the cage especially on the rear bars. I would prefer them to go to the struts but the builder recommended the wheel arches because he believe they are strong
  4. Simon, the brake will be replaced by a set of AP from my other car. These will be on the market once I finish restoring this car and you are right they are better off for drag racers but people have used them on the circuit and street. I also certainly cant afford the cost of replacement for the disc/pad with regular circuit use.
  5. lol you have any idea what torque and rpm those F1 engine are capable of? For 950 hp at 19-20 krpm, it has even less torque than my tuned stockish RB26 with a pair of T517z turbo. If you want a fair comparison pull a time sheet from a 8sec 4wd or 7 sec RWD drag car and compare. No one got bum steered at all mate. I am not going to brag about how much mechanical knowledge, IQ or experience I have on here since most guys in the automotive industry can do that well these days. What I can say, without sounding like a complete show off a$$, is that I am going to add probably 25-50kg to the car, use a pair of low mount turbo and I will still be able to pull 0-100 in less than 2.6 sec ...or I will sell the car The only reason I wanted to post some pics on here is to share them with some of the fans this car had in the past and to show some appreciation of great friends that I met in the automotive industry during my years as a registrar (in my occupation). If that is too much, I rather do something else.
  6. Zebra, the main hoop was part of the old cage. The cage was built a long time ago with the Andra spec and I think it was done in a rush for racing. The old engine setup was a true wet sump. Willall was one of the few workshops, that I have seen, that was able to pioneer the wet sump. Their current RH9 is also wet sump and clocks amazing time at the track with slick tyres.
  7. Next stop was at Simonbuilt for the rollcage upgrade. The cage would have been different if the old cage was not there. It's slightly difficult to tig weld onto an existing cage. However I did not have the budget to completely remove the existing chromoly cage. Side intrusion bars Rear & roof bars Car left the rollcage builder after 2 months of wait. More helping hands from great mates The next stop was back to my mate, Kym for some more welding and a fresh coat of paint One more shot of the Strange Carbon brake. These anchors are amazing
  8. The engine also had some TLC from myself, D&D Motors and a dry sump kit from Dazmomotosport. It's the same kit from this thread http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/293009-rb26-dry-sump-kit/page__pid__4896958__mode__threaded
  9. Next step is removing the interior to upgrade the old Andra spec rollcage The previous cage is not adequate for the circuit. Most of the bars will be replaced and a few more will be added to give the car more torsional rigidity. Next stop will be the cage builder.
  10. Bronze Seam Welding Spot welding the old chassis
  11. First stop is at Kym's workshop We stripped the front exterior and engine bay to do some spot and seam welding Stange Carbon Fiber brake and HKS drag coilover will go. This Trust drag intercooler used to flow 2+ bars of boost. It might be too big and heavy for the circuit ad will be replaced but it will stay for the time being.
  12. RH8 during it's glory days in 2005 at Adelaide International Raceway I found a few more video clips http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HOIcdkw9qUQ&feature=related
  13. Xrated, yes I will try the T618z first. This car has always had Trust turbo
  14. Lol guys. As I mentioned before, I've never have any evidence of the 0-200kph time so I can't back it up but that was the rumor. For clarification, may b someone can dig out Reece or Mark's 1/8 speed and time. Just remember both of them use Liberty gbox so it might be different. Anyway, that was not the buying point. I was a fan, watched and followed this car development. It has been a waste for it to sit there. When Keir discussed selling, I just couldn't let anyone else buy and butcher it up. I also like to keep it in SA. The car will run the same engine with 2 low mount turbo for the circuit. It will never be as quick in the straight.
  15. My old R32 with 2.6L and a pair of T517z clocked 3 sec up hill on the drift box. With the Willall OS Giken engine (from the drag car) and a pair of T517z it clocked 2.6sec for 0-100 on the street. I am sure with at least 30% more power, 200kg lighter, drag race tyres and the sticky drag strip, the 2.6sec for 0-200 is not that silly. Anyway, I don't have any evidence but it's been claimed. The drag strip in Adelaide has been closed since 2005. I bought the engine from this car, when it came out for a refresh, so the car was been sitting in the shed since 2005. I then bought the car last year but have been so busy with work, still am, and have not had a chance to overhaul it until a few months ago. Drag racing is dead in SA so I am converting it into a circuit car. It won't have that much grunt for the straight line but should be a bit quicker at Mallala
  16. Thanks for the offer Luke Beer Baaron, it's the 8sec drag car. Keir has 2x R32 with identical exterior colour. RH9 did 9sec with aircond, all factory options + half cage and a lot more non oem parts with pump fuel. True RH9 style! The drag car has been clocked 0-200kph at 2.6sec. I am not sure what tyres were used but more than likely radial. Mike, no worry with the pics. I am like that with camera was well lol The deal is as good as sealed anyway Thanks for you help.
  17. It is something about the R32 and the RB engine that I have a soft spot for. My previous project was to build a stock looking, road register-able R32 that is perfectly legal on the street with multiple track purposes but that was stopped short by an ignorant police officer. My previous project, link below, was pulled over and defected for no good reason. The car was of course cleared of defect. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Pr...ml&hl=9krpm The humorous part of that whole exercise was that I was in an occupation that looked after the police and the transport government staff at the time. Knowing what the law enforcers are like, it left me with a bitter taste. I decided to scrap that project and bought this car which has been out of action since 2005. I am currently overhauling and converting it into a circuit car. I cant wait to revive the "Godzilla" and take it out for testing early next year. Over the next few wks I will post pics of what has been happening to this car. I've some great friends that are helping me with this project currently PS I am surprised to see only a few clips of this car in action. If anyone has any footage, please share it here. The car was capable of 8.84sec on radial for the 1/4 and 2.6sec for 0-200kph. I am sure there are a lot more video out there....hopefully.
  18. Do they make 18x12 Ken?
  19. What do you use and what's cheap and not nasty? I read that the regular foam just disintegrate and causes worst problem than it's worth.
  20. I've a few car parts in Blacktown and would love to have them transport to Adelaide. I am happy to share some of the fuel cost if you have room/time to pick them up. Please let me know if you can. Cheers Dan
  21. Thanks Marlin. That sounds expensive! Will try one day mate but I am short of time and trying to get it onto the track by early November. How is your beast coming along?
  22. Yes I was thinking of a 40l tank as well but have not been able to find one with a baffle that is suitable for e85. Thanks Marlin
  23. Yes but that is not an option for me. I am overhauling/converting the ex-Willall Racing 8 sec drag R32 into a circuit car and it's factory fuel tank was long gone 8-9 years ago I am sure the 15L tank wont last too long feeding the 6x 1600cc injectors on the circuit. Seriously how big do I need to get for 6 laps around Eastern Creek?
  24. I am looking at upgrading my 15L drag fuel tank to something more appropriately sized for the timeattack/sprint purpose. What size are you guys using?
