  1. I say no, technically its a computer but you can only do one thing at a time. Even Steve Jobs says its somewhere between a smartphone and netbook so not really a computer. Its just a giant Ipod touch and watch it will sell like hotcakes.

  3. My condolences to the families, but the car in this case has nothing to do with the accident, the 07 XR6 falcon has a great safety rating, traction control, Stability control the whole kit. No amount of safety equipment will make any difference when your driving like an idiot. Try driving a VN commodore and then get in a 07 Falcon and tell me the Falcon handles like a bucket of shit. No family car is designed to be driven at these sorts of speeds on these sorts of road.

Also hey may of had an exception letter from Vicroads allowing him to drive a high powered vehicle, so in court the insurer could make the case that they insured the car in good faith under the assumption that he did have the exception. I know quite a few people who have crashed their high powered cars on their P's and got paid out the insurance because of their little letter from Vicroads. Also why in Gods name didnt you get the car towed home and put some roadworthy tyres on it?
  5. Will actually buy a PS3 to play this, yeah its coming out on the 360 but I hear its at least 4+ discs and stuff that. Plus it was developed with the PS3 in mind so I would imagine it would look better on the PS3. No fanboy comments please ,by the way I own a 360 and wii already.
  6. Yeah I know which is why imho, I wouldnt have a RWD skyline, i'd rather have a F6 or G6E turbo. I was comparing a stock GTT vs stock F6 we both know which one would be more a handful.

Sorry about that I was going off old info from pounds-dollars (AUD), it does however show that V8's can be competitive for what is a pittance even compared with a base 911, R8, hell 110k US is cheaper than what a M3 costs here and a ZR1 would smash a M3. The GTR is a phonomenon especially for the money, but so is the corvette, the corvette is much more the drivers car, it will also kill you very easily if your not careful. If someone gave me a choice between a RHD ZR1 and a GTR I would probably take the ZR1 much better resale value for when I got bored of nearly ending up in trees. Also if we talking Mods for cash pay 50k for a standard corvette put the ZR1 supercharger kit on it and you got yourself a weapon for less than the sticker price of the GTR. Taking mods into account I can bet you can get most cars doing 10 second quarters for 84k all up.
  8. To be honest forged internals for that sort of power really arent needed. I've read about way too many people going the forged internals route only to find out the engine was remade with a tin opener, definetly not a good one for resale value either.

AMG Mercedes (C63, E55, E63, CLK63, SL63, The list goes on) Audi (RS4, R8, S4) BMW (M3, 750i,550i,650i) Chevy Corvette ZR1 (Yes I know its supercharged) anyone who says that car is slow or doesnt handle is just plain wrong, its cheaper in the states than a GTR and will actually beat it around it around the Nurburgring V8's are where performance cars are currently at and will be for quite some time. Yes Aussie and American V8 are big and stupid and dont make the power a european V8 but they can still be weapons none the less. I dont know if you've seen the Maloo and The Vauxhall badged Clubby R8 go around the Top gear test track but the pulled out some very impressive times only tenths of a second off fully fledged 200k+ cars like the current M5, 997 Carrera S.
  10. I used to think the same about Aussie cars till I saw a 2004 Monaro win the Sandown 500 one year, yeah it was modified to the hilt but it beat out GT3 Cup cars, Lambos, Ferraris and even GTR's fell in its wake, Sandown is a power track but still.

What I meant was how many people can launch their GTR and even get close to the 0-100km/h in the official figures of around 4.9 seconds, very few, you need skills to know what rpm to launch to not make a total hash of it, which im sure we've all seen a fair few times. While with the ZF G6E turbo you'd have to be at least partially retarded to screw it up, at least from what i've seen on road tests. The easily get to 100 in 5.0-5.1 seconds almost everytime.
  12. The real question is why dont people complain about it. We all know the car companies are screwing us and so is the government yet people say and do nothing. I'm looking at you ACCC. Petrol goes up by 15 cents a litre its the end of the bloody world, wow it costs the average Aussie even with a shitbox VN Commo only an extra $214 a year. Yet with car prices no one says anything, we get screwed for a couple of hundred bucks its the apocolypse but if we get screwed for 10k plus on a new car it doesnt even rate a mention. Lets face it if wasnt for the government propping up GM and Ford in this country they would of been dead a long long time ago, so we keep maybe 100,00 people in jobs in this country that are slowly going overseas anyway and we all get screwed on cars. Why cant I import a 911 from the UK brand new and have it cost only 60% of the price it would here. Its not like its hurting anyone the government still slams me with LCT + GST + Import Duty so they still get their blood from the stone.
  13. If you want something cheap for your P's dont bother with a NA skyline they are slow and not the greatest 4 door cars. If the the grandparents and mates are an issue just by VS-VT commodore or EF-EL falcon yeah they dont look the part but they are cheap blow up a gearbox its only like $500 for a new one, at least you got something cheap and reliable till your off your P's. Power figures for NA Skyline , 95kw is a bit of a joke even my old VP Wagon has 127kw when it came out of the factory.
  14. VS-VT commodore, cheap, you can destroy it and parts are a dime a dozen and no cop attention. Another advantage with say a VT commodore is you can have traction control, ABS and airbags some things that the R31's just dont have and they will also look after you better in a crash.

(The following have been converted to AUD on the exchange rates of the day Australia $155k + on road costs USA $80,790 USD ($90,016 AUD) + on road costs UK 59,400GBP ($107,007 AUD) + on road costs Anyone who thinks we arent getting screwed in this country on the price of cars is an idiot, im sure its further to ship a car from Japan to the UK or more of a pain in the ass to make a LHD car in a RHD country but no we still pay 50k more. Why the government doesnt step in with a big WTF I have no idea.
  18. I must agree, I mean shit your paying 160k+ for a car and a gearbox failing after what can only be conisidered a trip around the block that is dodgy, I hope he gets some sort of compo out of this for his inconvenience.
  19. The problem with the falcons is they cant put down the power, an FG XR6 turbo actually does the 0-100 sprint and the quarter mile faster than the new FG F6. Sure the F6 is a weapon but its actually no faster than the XR6 turbo, in actually fact its slow because of the single large turbo taking longer to boost. In a test done by wheels it was found that the fastest Ford or Holden including FPV and HSV was the G6E turbo. As far as the Boss V8s go they are loud and give instant power, brilliant engines but the Turbo 6's smash them. At a car show last year I was talking to a ford spokesman and apparently they under rate the power and torque of the XR6T and the F6 so people still buy the Boss V8's, how much I couldnt squeeze the info out of him but I would imagine considering the acceleration figures probably 30-40kw.
  20. GTR for the win, the EVO to most people will always be a girly ass lancer with a body kit. While the GTR is a purpose built weapon and lets face it looks wise the Evo is a ugly duckling
  21. Not really an BA MkII F6 Typhoon is only 25k and a good 34GTT is still the best part of 20k so, a far cry from the 45-50k for a 34GTR. Personally if it was my money I would buy a R33 GTR could get a great example for 22-25k. Another thing to consider is the BA Xr6 turbo only marginally slower than a F6 still quicker than a GTT and can be had from only 14k drive away.

To settle the argument here is a scan of a copy of unique cars magazine article on the r32-r34 Gtr specs and you'll find even the mighty boat the R33 GTR when driven properly will still trounce anything holden or ford can throw at them. Just For the record my favorite car is the mighty boat R32-R34 0-100 and 1/4 mile Specs

Dude that is some seriously messed up shit, jesus christ how do women get from us guys wanting 2 cars to going ape and threatening to leave I really wanna see like a diagram for that thought process. Who knows what shes really up to I mean, most women not all mind you, would not risk there relationship over a stupid car issue (unless the guy wanted to spend the house deposit on a 911 or something). So shes either pissed with you about something else or its a powerplay to see exactly what you will be willing to give up for her. Anyway dude condolences either way it seems you will lose one of your dreams for the future. I wish you the best of luck and hopefully it all works out for the best
