Thanks to some ford owner, i now have a new rear end on the skyline. He was towing a trailer, and somehow didn't see me stopped in traffic on Springvale Rd last night and went straight through me. I guess that the damage is not all that bad. The bumper is pretty messed up and popping out at the sides. It has been pushed in enough so that the boot lid is sticking out about 5cm. The lights aren't broken, but their housing now has a gap between it and the panel. The worst part, he is not insured, but he said that he will pay for it all. So, now i have to get quotes for it all, and was wondering if anyone knows of any good body shops that will do the work well. I'm in the SE suburbs, around Glen Waverley. Thanks

I was lucky enough to get my rear end 'fixed up' last night, so any cruise at the moment for me might not happen. Don't want my car out there looking anything other than good.

i'm also looking for a place to do a little bit of work on my car. I've found a few little patches of rust that i would like cut out, as well as fixing a few scratches. My car is black too, so maybe even a better price for 3?

Sorry to jump in but... Dave, Are you selling that Grille? I wouldn't mind something like that on my car. Will that fit a series 1?

Where would you get that grille from? I'm looking for one and i can't find it. For around $100, it would be sweet

I get more other cars having a look. Most of them look at my wheels first and then give the once over the rest of the car. It is just skylines that don't pay too much attention to me. But then again, I'm normally paying more attention to the road compared to checking if they are having a look. But if a line passes me, I've gotta check out what they have and if i should do that to my car.

I've got a black 33 S1. Pretty much stock at the moment, so if you see me around, don't forget to wave or something. Most skylines that i see don't pay any attention to other skylines. I've only met 2 on the road to either gave me a little wave, or had a quick chat.

Ah, i see now. I was thinking that you got limo tint, that being some special sort of tint compared to just the norml tint film. I really have to go and get some prices and get my car done.

Damn, that looks really good. What are the different % you have on all the windows? How is the limo tint different to normal tint?

Yeah maybe. The car was imported a bit before i bought it. It looked really good, but i just couldn't see why someone would want to go so dark. It just makes all your windows usless. At least when it was dry you could just open a window, i had so many troubles when it was raining. If your back window is 15%, then maybe i could go 20% all round without any hassles. I've got a black car, so it should look pretty impressive.

If there are no problems with 20%, then i guess that i will go that. I might get a little lighter for the side windows, and I'll also need to get my sunroof tinted. I really wonder what my last cars windows were tinted at if i couldn't see out the back window at night. You could only see headlights of the cars behind you, nothing more. But it worked a treat if you didn't want people to be able to see in...

What % tint did you end up getting? I want to go dark, but not so dark that it makes my windows impossible to see out of.

So are premier any good? My old car got tinted at Tint - a - car, but i thought that was pretty pricy, and that was a few years ago. They gave me the darkest legal tint, but that just wasn't dark enough.

What does the grill look like?

I'm also looking at getting my windows tinted soon. My old car was really dark, you couldn't even use the back windows at night, and to back out of anywhere, you had to wind down your windows. I don't want to go that dark again, but 20% rear and 30% sides sounds pretty good. If anyone starts to tee all this up, count me in. Otherwise I'll have to find somewhere to go.

It was a very fun day. Shame that i had to leave early as my mates had other places that they had to be. But what is more important than driving around with a pack of skylines? I ended up going through the otways on the way home. Rather wet and got stuck behind a commodore station wagon that just wouldn't let me past. Just like the way down to Apollo Bay. Damn traffic. But it was good to meet everyone. We have to do it all again.

I'm from Glen Waverley and planning on meeting up at the maccas on the western ring road, unless there is a plan to meet up before that.

The holder that i get (be it from Evo R or elsewhere) is that easy enough to put on, or am i going to have to make something up to get it all to work? Your dash looks really impressive. Maybe one day.....
