  1. Yes. I know Joe well...hes running my old power fc pro/z32afm. Hes got alot more power this year..560kw I think...but hasnt raced much this season. were you running 4.3 diff ratios? I took the car for a blast tonight , mate reckons it flys..but i can't feel that much..guess im getting use to the car. probably the max i should push on standard internals.
  2. At meremere this year...should be a huge event if teh weather agrees.. nz.. Heat Treatments not attending..on the boat to OZ. what are you aiming for now with the low mounts?
  3. no 2860-5's are equivelent to 2530's and 2860-7's are suppose to be gtss's. It can get confusing ..then you got -10's ,2860'rs.
  4. Sure in a rear wheel drive car,... I was only hoping for high tens.. = ).. enough for street car. I have a r32 gtr drag car Ive been building for ages... running twin 3540 turbos.,1080 kgs . aiming for 8's so YES I am serious about drag racing.
  5. impressive car you got there!. 398awkw.. what was your trap speed and 0-60ft times?.. what would 383rwkw or 454kw flywheel horsepwer be in awkw? 350? we could of pushed more but standard internals and cams, plus No rod bolts..hopefully itll be enough . what rpm were you launching ? At the momment launch control is set at 7000rpm building about 11-12psi boost off the line. Revlimiter set at 8k. Any advice ,appreciated. Might race at the Import All-stars event next week , as soon as i do a 10sec pass ,ill be kicked out til I get a cage..so I want to make it count.= ) . Don't really want to put a cage in this car.. thanks allen
  6. I got my car dynoed and tuned running 2860-5's . Got 385kw at wheels in 2wd mode. (dynopack) .Standard internals ,standard cams. on my r32 gtr. Last time I raced ,managed a 11.6 with 250kw at wheels. do you guys think 10's possible with this setup. Standard weight, street tyres. running 1.64 0-60 ft times. Obviously there alot of factors that come into play, driver,track,etc... wanted to hear what people have acheived from experience with similar power output. the car is running a HKS F-con v pro with launch control and 4.3 gts4 ratio,also a front cusco lsd. really wanted to push a 10.8 if possible on standard internals.. thanks guys. could upload the dyno graph if i knew how.. = (.

  8. I have done this setup on my r32 GTR..A very effective mod. Im running 324mm r34 gtr rotors up front and 320mm 350z rotors on the rear. Running evo7 calipers with Mintex race pads. Huge Huge improvement to the braking and looks mean!. Im using CNC machined air-craft alloy brackets front and rear. It took me and my toolmaker a while to figure out how to mount the rear calipers strong and safely. I have the CNC drawings or I can get the brackets made up for you. The front hubs need a slight trim where the factory brake line bolts to. and you will need to run new lines front and rear..I ran braided lines. The rear hubs are tricky , need to machine a few mm off the inside hub. hard to explain ..but very trick on how they bolt up. I took photos when i installed the calipers.. but they are on my desktop,ehich has packed a sad...should have it up and running in a few days.. Ask any questions you like as I know this was a long process for me so I dont mind helping out fellow gtr owners.

Its time to dyno tune the car soon and wanted to get your opinions and suggestions on max power I should push or expected power output. 2860-5 turbos tomei exhaust manifolds hpi turbo outlet pipes trust downpipe trust power extreme 4inch exhaust arc intake box alloy intercooler pipes blitz lm intercooler erl aquamist water injection running 50/50 meth/h20 700cc sard injectors sard fuel press reg apexi intank 280l pump with direct relay trust fuel rail with -6 line in tomei 1.2 headgasket tomei steel gasket kit tomei oil restrictor trust oil pump hks cam gear trust sump and baffle blitz -8 sparkplugs splitfire coilpacks custom alloy radiator with built in oil cooler profec boost controller hks fcon v-pro running on map sensor gts4 4.3 final drive os twin plate clutch 1.5way cusco front lsd **standard pistons,rods,bolts. engine is in good cond, high even compression across the board. Im building this car for street/drag use.. what do you guys think the max i should push this engine 350kw? 1.3 bar? I have another engine being built with everything, but not for few months...   11. For those who have done this mod to a r32 or r33 gtr , was there a big improvement in acceleration, drag use? 0-60ft times any 1/4 times lower?. just wanted to get an idea if its a worth mod.. for street/drag use.. thanks guys.
  12. Im running 2860-5 turbos, on my r32 gtr.. what would you guys recommend on the cam gear settings on standard cams.. I have all the supporting mods with fcon-v pro. just wanted to set them before i put the cam covers back on , off to dyno next week. thanks.
  13. just done thi son the weekend..twice!.. remove one clutch and transfer to the other...first crack the bolt with a 14mm stubby ring spanner. Then grab a short 14mm 3/8 socket and a small air-ratchet . .once you manage to get i ton the bolt ,just keep at it.itll come out!... pain in the ass.
  14. On standard cermamic turbos,1 bar making 260rwkw . I have done over 200 11sec passes...mostly all in the 11.5-11.6 range. That launching the car hard on powerfc pro launch control set at 7200rpm. Used redline shockproof oil (red) and os tripple plate clutch.Didnt have one problem with the box, for 2years...drove it on the street/drag. Still in the car now, but hasnt run in 5years..mock up box for my drag car.

  16. Finally were getting somewhere..thank you! So an r33 motor.. Spoke to someone today and he told me hes only ever seen that head bolt on r34 motors...so hmm.. I got a street r32 that i ve done evrything to , except motor wise, so was thinking if this motor was up to spec, might swap it over.. 700 hp at crank is the goal running 2530's. more than enough for me for the street. Trying to save money where i can for my drag car.should run this season. That car runs twin 3540's ,motec 800,adl pretty much everything under the sun. 1200hp and mid to low 8 is the goal..should post some pictures..not blurry ones..haha. = )
  17. i didnt know you could check engine numers with fast..hmm..i could post the vin ad model number but im pretty sure the motor is not the original. This car is a bit funny, had a factory exhaust on ( brand new). high pressure intercooler hose clamps, huge alloy radiator with built in oil cooler,front subframe is all drilled out ,high boost setting on the hks evc was at 1.5bar?!? and when the car arrived from japan the clutch was completely destroyed..nismo twin plate. So it just raises suspicions to what it had in japan or what the capabilities of this motor is. somebody must of seen this " R" before..no one in nz has... = ( , and not one reply from the gtroc forum. Its one of those things that annoy you until you can find the answer...= ).
  18. sorry about the photo, camera was really crap and too close to focus. il get some better photos up. Ive looked at 5 n1 blocks, but they dont have a serial number on block. Was told if you order a block new from nissan,it has no serial number and the ones i looked at has no "R". So i assume its a factory N1 engine but out of what??32,33,34? Is there a way to tell with the serial number? thanks.

I got an 1990 r32 gtr, was wandering if it was possible to know what engine my car was from..side of the block says 24U..so i assume its an N1 motor.r32?r33?.r34? ..and one thing that has me stumped is looking at the engine number ,in between RB26 and serial number there is a little R stamped. Everyone i spoke to has never seen it or heard of it... looks like this : RB26 --------------R 060643A without the slashes.. I also took the rocker cover off and noticed that the head bolt has a little dot on the rim of the hexbolt..all the ones ive seen are smooth. thanks guys.
  20. r33 gtr diff is stronger. the drive flanges on the diff are 1-2mm thicker. Im using one on my r32 drag car. on a r32 diff with high horsepower 800+ it tends to shear the drive flanges during launch.
