  1. I reckon it would be impossible for some people to refrain from commenting in a negative way on something they didn't agree with... Good to hear the cruise went awsum lads, cheers Nell's for taking them on the hills route, as some of you would have seen, just cos its a Holden doesn't mean it cant handle. Wayne have you got your pics yet?
  2. I know its way late, Gerard was put onto the dealing of sending out the pics and i believe he did so within one week. is there anyone who has still not received any pics that they paid for? I also owe an apology to those who turned up solely for the cruise. due to everyone leaving at random times, it was a bit here-ther-everywhere as to who was hanging around. agreed that next time it would be better to keep shoots and cruises separate . I believe a few of you got out on sat night (July 11th) and drove the route that was intended for the shoot, lead by Oliver in the red VL N/A and Wayne in the black 32GTR. from what i read everyone seemed stoked and i can wait to get my ass back in S.A. to come out more often. (Selling house in Byron Bay atm hence delay on this post - F'n house work!) regards westy
  3. go by your ears mate... if it sounds okay to you, stick with it. my cousin spend $5k, sounds a bit betta than my stereo but for the extra $4k he spent, i'll stick with my cheaper set-up. chek out the Response amps from Jaycar Audio... good value for money, and if your budgeting their speakers arent too bad. however as the audio-pro's said previously, some decent money will buy you decent gear. the only reason i didnt spend lots was because i didnt have lots to spend... 'technically' there are many reasons to say you should spend lots on a car audio system if upgrading, and they are correct, but it all comes down to $$$ and your knowledge of product. E.G. this is off the Jaycar website... *4 x 100WRMS Full Range Car Amplifier Specifications: • Power / channel @ 4ohm 14.4V: 100WRMS x 4 • Power / channel @ 2ohm 14.4V: 150WRMS x 4 • Power / bridged @ 4ohm 14.4V: 300WRMS x 2 • S/N ratio: >90dB • Input sensitivity: 200mV to 5V • Low pass filter: 50 - 500Hz @ 12dB/octave • High pass filter: 50 - 500Hz @ 12dB/octave • Dimensions: 4300(L) x 170(W) x 50mm(D)mm RRP: $224:50 *Component Car Speakers with Ribbon Tweeters Specifications: • Woofer/mid: 6.5" PMI/Kevlar® composite cone, diecast basket • Frequency response: 70Hz - 4kHz • Tweeter: Ribbon type with neodymium magnet • Frequency response: 3kHz - 40kHz • Crossover: 12dB/octave • Crossover size: 130(L) x 85(W) x 38(H)mm • Dimensions: A - 166, B - 156, C - 143, D - 65mm RRP: $149.50 (web site currently advertises $114.50) hope i didnt waste too much time. rock out
  4. i rekon the simplest rule-of-thumb is: three words, FAST RELIABLE CHEAP, choose two because you'll neva get all three. also consider what you want to do with the car REALISTICALLY. power doesnt have to be the focus for performace. any car can speed and any driver can loose their licence (i stupidly did). if your keping a car on the streets there isn't any real need for mods other than bolt-on's. the best mods you could do with any car is the handling. not just coilovers but sway-bars, bushes, linkages and geometry. add to that a decent set of treads and your going to need your brakes more than your accelerator. if i had words of wisdom they would be: read, read & read... the more reading you do, the more you learn. get dirty with mates under their cars and drive their cars to compare & learn all you can . then make your own evaluations as per what you liked most. not one car is ever the same.
  5. your a few bob short arnt you mate? you see the service is actually free, im not charging anyone for me to be taking photos. I am allowed to have a web-site, im sure the ato dont give a f*k if i have a web site.... any other wanker comments you want to bundle this post with???? and where your web-site, I'd luv to chek your "FREE" photos??? believe it or not, that was the first thing i lookd for.... any who, you have a good day troy and stick with your WORLDWIDE galleries. leave all this "amateur" stuff to us small-fry yeah.... peace
  6. I cant see why this wouldnt be possible. rock up, chek it out, and lets talk about different options for you all to gain the photos you wish to... peace, Westy
  7. Thats brilliant Troy, how do you make a living??? I dont know what qualifications you have or what equipment you use, but I studied hard to gain my Diploma and I have spent thousands on Photography gear. I have ALWAYS, up until a few months ago, taken photos for car owners for nothing seeing it as part of "getting your foot in the door" sort of thing... funny that after a few years, most if not all of you have no idea who i am... soo feel free to rock up and take your "free" photos Troy and join us for the drive afterwards, after all, I POSTED THIS UP TO MEET NEW PEOPLE AND GO FOR A DRIVE!!! which is why i beleive we have a thing called a "car community"... i just thought it would be good manners and seem more professional if i let everyone kno that there would be photographers there and images could be purchased. this IS NOT a sales pitch. A sales pitch would be titled something along the lines of - "photoshoot & hills cruise, $10 entry)... im not asking anything for people to rock up, talk, meet, and drive.... so before you voice your *words inserted here* opinion, leave it up to the moderators... I tried not to offend but speaking out loud tends to p*%# people off....
  8. ha ha, does interesting mean good or not soo good???

  11. We will begin with a Photo shoot in an underground car-park located at the Burnside Shopping Village. The car-park can be accessed via Cator Street. Once we have completed the Photo shoot we will then head out on a drive throughout the Adelaide Hills eventually returning to the BP Service Station at Belair. A route map will be available at the meet. Meet & Photo shoot at Burnside Shopping Village car-park on Sunday 21st June at 8:30pm. Michael Westphalen and Gerard Wood will be taking photos from 8:30pm. Even if you’re not keen on joining us on the cruise, drop in, get a few snaps of your car and check out some other rides. Photos will be available by order with payment required on the night. A disk containing 5 High-Res images will be a measly $10.00 (images can be printed crystal clear at A3 size). Westy has a Diploma in Photography and Gerard is currently studying Media at MAPS. Check out some previous work by: Westy www.mikewestphoto.com Gerard www.neweramedia.com.au
