errrrrr anyways called vic roads. they were in the usual "pole up the ass" mood. told the dude what happened and all he said was "well thats unfortunate isnt it?" called insuarance company and put through a claim. lady at insurance company did say to put a claim through vic roads anyways and see how that goes. if ppl are interested i will update this thread.

hmmm ye. just reading though search results that popped up in Google, most ppl have been waiting 6 months + to hear back only to get their claim rejected. it’s pretty much a brand new car with just over 10000ks on it. don’t want it sitting there or driving it around with damage while i hear from vic roads. it happened just after warrigal road exit. I’m pretty sure there is a "safety cam" monitoring the freeway. I’m sure they should have some footage. but i have all the details written down except for the rego of the car that drove over the piece of rubber/tire

hey guys just wanted your input/opinions and experiance in this. was driving on the monash freeway heading city bound and a piece, well a chunk of tyre that was on the road was flung up by another car and hit the car i was driving. damage cause was a smashed bonnet guard, a fairly large dint on the bonnet and scratch marks up the bonnet and on the edge where the roof meets the windscreen. question is can this be "claimed" through vic roads for damage? or is it more of a suck it up and go through insurance company? reading the vic roads web site its states that "A person who has suffered personal injury or property damage due to the condition of a road or road infrastructure may be entitled to compensation from the responsible road authority" road contidion was fine as in no pot holes or lose stones/rubbles on the road but there was shreaded tyres on a road where cars are travelling at high speed. so it would be their duty to make sure its clean of everything wouldnt it be? so is it worth me putting in a claim or just go through insurance for it?

ah sweet. thats good then, be a shame to build such an aweomse car for an event like this and to not drive it there. do they have a limit to how many practice sessions you can get in before the event to test and tune the car out? or will you be doing most of your test and tune at your home track?
