Since moving up from Melbourne, I've discovered that Canberra drivers have serious problems with tailgating. For the most part I find it's not an aggresive thing, rather just a thoughtless thing. I do have to admit, I myself have relaxed the accelerator foot slightly since moving here from Melbourne - it's just too easy to get away with speeding here. But I definitely don't tailgate.

So I was driving back to Canberra yesterday (Tuesday) and I noticed that hundreds of cars going south on the Hume had these red bumper style stickers on their windscreens, mostly on the passenger side. I also saw people with them on the Barton highway, and a dude in a Torago driving behind me on the way to work had one this morning! Does anyone know what the sticker is? It's killing me not knowing.

Maybe you're right about that franks.... but clearly the only car movie with sly worth watching is Death Race 2000. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0072856/ Second best movie of all time!
-
Death Race 2000 - clearly the best car movie of all time. I've got it on DVD. The best scene is when David Carradine beats the crap out of Sylvester Stallone. Oh man, I'm going straight home and watching it for the 57th time tonight!

So this year could be Montoya's last realistic chance to be F1 world champion. He's already comitted to McLarren for 2005-6 and going on current performance, he's got no chance at all with them. He could just fade away at a lesser team and never drive for a top team again. Webber on the other hand - all the talk seems to be not about if he's going to win the championship, but who he's going to win it for! In 10 years time... Montoya who??

Well, this is the first grand prix since I've moved away from Melbourne. Sure is going to be a very different sort of weekend. Not as different as watching an overseas GP I think, as so many of the little details will be so familiar. No Villeneuve either Still, I can't wait to get another year of F1 underway!!!

Hehe - good old SDU. Those were the days. I'm living in Swinger Hill (yeah, great suburb name) right near the Woden shopping centre. Working in the city. Thanks everyone for the welcomes, and the advice. I will look privately, and in Melbourne too I think, although I'm in no rush. Got some Melbournites on the case for me too.

Howdy. I'm after some information about the 4wd turbo atessa bluebirds. The ones with the sr20 engine. If anyone knows of useful links, or has some info they can post, I would very much appreciate it. Thanks!

Thanks Jay. sxygtst - I will probably spend around 10k, give or take a bit. Interested in anything that's in good condition really, although probably not a silvia, or an auto.

So anyway, I'm a new Canberran. Used to live in Melbourne and we just moved up here. Where do you native Canberran's buy your cars? I decided that I'm in need of a new one and had a bit of a look around and there's not too much available. Do you go and get them from Sydney or Melbourne? Are there any performance car dealers in Canberra? Hmmm, don't want to bombard you all with too many questions, so that's it for now. Oh yes, and Hi! by the way.

My favourite time of the year.

When the hell is bloody BAR going to give Villeneuve a car which doesn't break down half way through the race. GRRRRRRRRRRRR.

If you're unlucky enough to be stuck at work like me, you are able to get live feeds of times from the Melbourne F1 track. The Formula1.com website has been relaunched and it has exclusive live feed time from all practise, qualifying and race sessions.

This is pretty special. Went to Fed Square at lunch time today, there are some F1 cars on display there at the moment. These are not like the plastic models at the motorshow - these are the REAL F1 cars from previous years. There is BAR, Jordan Ferrari and Williams there - most of them have the electronic goodies and such removed, but the Williams car is complete from the steering wheel to the opto sensor on the back for the traction control. They're not behind massive barriers, they're behind a piece of string so close to the cars you can easily touch them. I'd say this is a fairly limited opportunity we have to see a real F1 car so close up! So if you have the chance, get down and check it out.
