  1. Where is bunbury?? I'm interested, especially if the tyres are good, but I'm in Melbourne.
  2. excellant!! Now all I have to do is wait paitently for 5 months....
  3. I dunno if these have been posted before, but even if they have they're cool and deserve to be posted again!
  4. Article from f1.on.net: According to reports on Pitpass.com, MotoGP ace Valentino Rossi, may test for the BAR team later this year. BAR boss Dave Richards has lined up the champion following another victory at the weekend. Richards has witnessed Rossi dominate bike racing in the same way that Michael Schumacher has dominated F1 this season. Rossi races for the Honda team and BAR's links with Honda create this opportunity for the young Italian. John Surtees was the last man to win both an F1 championship and a motorbike title. "I've spoken to Valentino," Surtees was quoted byPitpass.com. "He has the talent, and if he feels he can make the jump from two to four wheels then this is the time."
  5. I dont suppose you have more info in the 11sec R31 Meggala? Do you have some specs or even pics? Thanks!
  6. Also, one more thing - what does the warning light on the dash mean that looks like a little exclamation mark?
  7. Hi Guys. I'm probably going to buy an R31 GTS-X this week if all goes to plan. It's not in great condition and will need some TLC to bring it up to scratch! It needs a rear quater window. Has anyone needed to get one of these before? Where did you get it and how much? The front bumper and piece above it need replacing. It currently doesn't have the adjustable front spoiler on it but the bumper needs replacing anyway so has anyone got one of these before. How much and where? It's an auto, and the tranny is stuffed. Who's done an auto -> manual conversion in an R31 before? Also, any general info on the R31's such as bits which are interchangable with the aussie R31 etc. etc. would be much appreciated. Thanks!
  8. Formula 1 Online can reveal that Jos Verstappen will be racing for the Toyota team in 2003, alongside Olivier Panis. The Dutchman has been without a drive this season after being dropped by Arrows at the last minute, but is to be named this weekend by the Japanese team as their second driver for the coming season. The popular Dutchman would bring in sponsorship money, but also a wealth of experience which has been gained over the past 8-years in F1. Toyota yesterday announced that they were dropping both Allan McNish and Mika Salo, but have so far only announced Olivier Panis' to drive next season. Verstappen and manager Huub Rothengatter will be present for the Belgian Grand Prix, and current plans are to confirm the deal on Friday.
  9. ... Williams driver Juan Pablo Montoya is set to marry fiancée Connie Freydel once his 2003 Grand Prix campaign is complete. The pair, probably the most photographed couple in the current F1™ racing paddock, will wed on Saturday October 19th, the first weekend after the season finale at Suzuka. Montoya and Miss Freydel will take their vows in a ceremony in Cartagena on the north coast of their native Colombia. ... Also, seems that JV turned down a US$50 million one year contract to race in CART - he must REALLY like racing in F1!!
  10. Good to have it back after three weeks. Go Villeneuve! Makes you wonder how to last all summer. This forum is a little dead... surprising, so many car enthusiasts, so few motorsport fans!
  11. I read on F1.on.net that Mark Webber revealed in a radio interview that it was "More likely than not" he would be driving for Jaguar next year, replacing fast Eddie. It's a step up, albeit a rather small one. I would image the money is significantly more though. I don't know about Eddie's chances of getting a contract with another team either... he talks way too much. Also, Villeneuve may be considering a return to CART next year. I really hope this doesn't happen!
  12. And BAR looks like having quite a good driver set up next year, with Villeneuve and Button... I'd be going with them if I were Honda too.
  13. Cosworth ALREADY supplies both Jaguar and Arrows with their engines. So they could easily supply someone else as well. It wouldn't mean that someone would miss out. It would mean closer racing in the middle/rear of the field though. I don't understand why Jordan would want to swap to a Cosworth engine though - seems to me the Honda engine is getting pretty good. Better than the Cosworth anyway. And also I heard that Ford is thinking about pulling out of F1 altogether. Can't remember where I head this though...
  14. Have you got some more pics? Better angle, interior, engine bay? Cheers.
  15. When JPM almost took out Barichello I was on my feet yelling and swearing at the TV, waving my arms around and stuff. I had $10 on Villeneuve for a podium finish, would have won $700. It's probably the only time ever I've seen two cars touch in F1 and neither car has lost any time or track position. Oh well, easy come easy go.
  16. Well, I didn't stay up for the race, I got a few hours sleep and then got up to watch it! Then straight off to work Glad I did get up though - damn good race. I was very impressed with Villeneuve, finally getting some points and almost a podium. It's a damn shame he didn't get on the podium... I had a bet on him and would have won lots of money!! Oh well, maybe next time... when the race will also be delayed until 4:50am due to golf.
  17. Something I heard on the weekend - maybe it was on RPM (I can't remember). Valentino Rossi is testing soon in a WRC car - not sure which one - and may not be driving in moto gp next year! I really hope he doesn't - I want to see Bayliss vs Rossi next year, even though Ducatti may not have their engine completely sorted out at the start of the year.
  18. Damn those ferraris. And damn JPM for taking a much faster Coulthard out of the race. And damn Honda for their crappy engines. At least Villeneuve finshed this time. And Webber had another consistent drive. Not too happy about the next Grand Prix coverage being delayed by bloody Wimbeldon. I know which one I'd prefer to watch.
