  2. yeah ive checked it out and with the tiptronic when you push up or down it engages an electronic switch to change gears. so unless i wire that up to fire a motor to move the mechanical lever to change gears its out of the question. just another thing to break haha worth the thought anyway.
  3. seen that vid before, i think from memory he had a c4 or something behind it? or could of been something else cant remember. im most likely staying with the 33 box and going with that. was just simply asking would this work with the mechanical valvebody handling the shifting? therefore i wouldnt need to worry about all the fancy wiring. 2 pros i can see - r34 box is newer than any r33 box, so should be better nick - would get a nicer looking shifter to work with (and maybe the up down tiptronic shifting if i could work something out with that)
  4. haha should of expected that... Ive tossed up the idea. but last time i priced it up and even with mates rates to have it all put in it came to $2600 with a standard clutch that just isnt going to cut it. so you're looking over $3000 to do it properly. the whole manualised auto deal is going to cost a smidge over $1000 for everything. theres a r34 box on here now for $400 - so maybe like $1500 all up. half the price. Its just an idea im throwing out there. i personally think its more hassle than what its worth, but would be kinda cool and different if it could work.
  5. hey guys i know this has been discussed before. and its not a great idea due to all the electronics etc. But basically i was going to throw in a full mechanical manualised auto valvebody into my r33 auto. from Joel at jd transmissions. Basically it removes all the electronics from the the box and all shifting is done mechanically. slightly different to the MV stage 3 kit where an electronic control box is used with a shift kitted valvebody etc. so point is could this be done? r34 tiptronic into r33 with that manual valve body setup? as that would eliminate most of the electrical troubles.. also i understand that i wont have the tiptronic functions etc. just wondering if it is possible. probably not worth the hassle though.
  6. so yesterday i found that the splitter under the car is a no go. what you need to do is at the bottom of the handbrake lever where the cable goes in... you need to bash out the end with a punch so the cable and all will come out. then you put the new handbrake in and press the end assembly back in. If that makes sense. Thats the only way i could figure out how to do it, its f**king hard to get out though. all that just to change a handbrake
  7. yeah that 10mm nut will undo and you can adjust tension, but the bolt is too large to slide out the end of the handbrake lever. so the car is now up on stands and ive found the splitter where it goes out to the two wheels, got to get that undone now
  8. i'll have to check it out... cant remember you are talking about the actual handbrake end at the lever yeah? we'll see tomorrow i guess haha
  9. Has anyone changed a handbrake on a R33 before? ive had a search and nothing, one other thread asking about it but no one seemed to know. so i thought id try again Basically car came with a stupid drift button thing, so i want to take out the existing handbrake and put in the new standard one i have. however i am pretty sure the cable needs to be taken completly out then reinserted through the new handbrake. Is there a splitter box near the rear wheels where i can detach it? or does it have to come off at the hubs? anything i should need to know before i go trying to pull it out tomorrow? Cheers
  10. mate if the above falls through, i'll take it. Im in brisbane can pickup or meet halfway or something let me know
  11. yep you get over it pretty quick. still think the gtr bov is the way to go, much cheaper and stock looking. as for idle could be a few things. try adjusting the aac valve at the back of the plenum. there is a DIY on this site about cleaning the aac and reseting the idle at the aac valve and the ecu. give that a shot first
  12. its been said hundreds of times on this forum before, stock bov is fine. guys have been running heaps of power through them. Next best upgrade to a stock gtst bov is a gtr bov which can be had usually for between $40 and $100. Save the $400 dollars you'd spend on a fancy bov and buy something else. If you want the doo do do sound do this: Alloy/metal intake pipe (or get a section of 3" metal pipe, cut your standard intake in half and put the metal pipe inside) get some aluminum sheet and the bov gasket and cut a plate to the size of the gasket. drill bolt holes then instead of cutting out the middle like on the gasket just drill a few holes through it. this will partially block off your bov but not enough to make you stall - giving you the tututututu noises. all you need to know really.
  13. so is this a vg30det turbo or a vg30dett turbo? what are the numbers on the rear housing and the compressor housing?
  14. i'll do you a swap - my r33 s2 turbo for your vg30turbo i need one for a high flow damn, you're in NZ
  15. joeyjoeyjoeyjoeyshaboojunior - how did you fit the wing to your boot? does it use the existing holes in the bootlid? ive also heard of some people using double sided tape haha
  16. psi parts do the d-wing, drift wing, duck wing or whatever its called in carbon fibre Ive just painted my wheels black, have a black grill, and black trims (rest of the car is ve holden green) = i will be picking up a carbon fibre one of these soon to complete the package
  17. is it the .63 vg30 rear housing? I take it the rb20 compressor housing is smaller than the rb25's? Would that affect it much on a 25?
  18. shock re conditioners on moss st are pretty good apparently http://shockreco.com.au/ quoted me 220 a shock to have my ohlins coilovers serviced revalved to whatever i want etc. should be going to get it done in the next few weeks
  19. would also like a quote on this. emphasis on ball bearing cartridge not thrust bearing. with supplying own r33 standard turbo delivery to brisbane aswell Thankyou
  20. yeah called gcg up the other day and for gt3076r-iw as a kit with everything was quoted $3070 so i dont know where this $2200 is coming from
  21. injectors definatly gone mate? why do these things have to move so quickly? haha
  22. sweet as, i understand fully now, just needed someone to explain how all the random numbers and things meant. Cheers
  23. what have you been using to tune it? Nistune? or something similar? i take it its had a daughterboard installed with a new eeprom to enable it to be re programmed? what wires need to be changed on the ecu side? diagram maybe? so in theory i could plug this and z32afm in and car would run sweet? im only using standard injectors so i would need to upgrade them also... are you selling the s15 injectors also? would be interested if you could do a package of some sort Cheers
  24. haha yeah i guessed that much, i wouldnt even know where to start though too many numbers and shit everywhere
  25. wow that all means about zero to me haha probably best just to get my ohlins rebuilt and get some new bushes etc... all this choosing new shit is way complicated. What bushes and things should i get replaced/upgraded? car atm bumpsteers, tramlines, hops all over the joint. its tiring to drive
