I am definitely interested, as long as the price is around $500 still and there is enough notice for me to sell off my safc/sitc combo his work definitely sounds like the way to go especially since im driving an auto. shame he is not local to do a retune after more mods though

Dont know why you would change it unless you are going manualised auto? most ppl who do that go a b&m style ratchet shifter, but that means cutting the console etc to fit it. as for the overdrive button, just rewire it to a switch or push button and mount it near the shifter somewhere. you can buy addons for some of the b&m shifters that have an overdrive button in them. could be hard to find. there was also a topic on here somewhere ages ago where someone sourced a different shifter for an auto out of a 300zx or something similar, looks a bit more sporty. kinda similar shape to r34 tiptronic shifters. check ebay maybe?

i just used the original clips from the standard number plate mount and used a dremel to cut out 2 new squareish holes to the side like the original holes, then used the original screws and washers to secure it. cost me a whole $0 and 20minutes of my time.

sorry to hijack, but will a rear bar like the xplosive fit a r33 sedan? i want something to bring the rear of the car down lower a little as it sits so much higher than the rest. just something subtle. but i cant seem to find much info regarding 4 door kits and fitment etc

well that explains it then i wonder if anyone has attempted putting in a 5 speed auto into a turbo? im assuming it would be the same strength wise as a 4 speed? what is the model number for the 5 speed? what other cars did nissan use it in? if i can source one it might be an interesting path to go down 5 speed with mv manual valvebody, ratchet shifter and black box, maybe a 2800 or 3000 stall = 5 speed manualised auto -

im pretty sure my r33 4 door only has 4 speed (1 2 D and OD) unless there are 2 levels of overdrive or something? im assuming a 5 speed would be 1 2 3 D and OD though? -

cool that looks good. only thing i could see being annoying is have to click the shifter up or down 3 or 4 times to get into reverse or park, haha -

yeah videos would be nice so the actual valvebodies are about $350 usually if i remember correctly. how much are these black boxes? a b&m shifter you could pick up for around $300ish also i guess. so its looking to be around $1000 all up if you install it yourself. got any pics of the installation of the black box? or a copy of the instructions so i can see whats involved? might be time to give mike a call -

if you dont mind me asking how much was this setup? did it take much to install and get running? any pictures? how do you find it? what shifter are you using? etc im very interested in running this setup but its hard to find people using it. being in brisbane i cant get mv autos to install it. would it be difficult to do yourself? cheers -

when you say manualised do you mean complete manualised auto? eg ratchet shifter, have to shift every gear just without clutch or are you talking about just the valvebody for harder shifts? -
is series 2 bumper same as series 1? is coupe the same as sedan? reason i ask is i have a cracked silver r33 s1 sedan rear bumper and would love a new one. haha

haha thats all i would of been doing today at work anyway. well ive booked into beaurepairs on creek rd sat morning now ive just gotta get my car off the ground. its too low for my hilly driveway, so im gonna have to jack it up on the side of the street, or putt down there with the flat. its just an excuse to not be a taxi tonight and start drinking beers now

damn, i hope i dont have to order them in mario kart on the wii is definatly better than work
-
by spare tyre i mean the space saver/emergency tyre (the skinny little one) i was just trying to avoid driving anywhere with it thanks for the offer mate but being turbo i need a 5 stud this thread was just a wild stab in the dark to see if anyone had a regular r33 rim with rubber fitted that i could buy as a straight swap without having to f**k around and so i could get to work. looks like im just going to take the day off and get this one repaired or replace the tyre
-
yeah i think i may have seen it round, i only moved here a month ago though. yeah im just taking the flat off and a friend is gonna take me down to the shop. saves f**king around/driving with the space saver. but my house mate just bought mario kart for the wii, so i'll play that instead of going to work. haha

yeah i heard your lancer go past, i was having trouble keeping the skyline in a straight line too haha yeah was heading into the bp, then struggled back home, i only live on nursery rd so it wasnt too far luckily. going now to get some car stands, then taking the wheel off and going to a shop to get a new tyre fitted. so hopefully gets sorted today fun times!

hello there, woke up to go to work this morning found that my car was pulling to the left, checked it and my front left is flat struggled to the servo to pump it up, but it would not inflate. question is does anyone here have a spare r33 wheel/tyre or similar that i can buy/borrow to either replace it or so i can get down to a tyre shop?? i'll use the emergency tyre if i have to. but if i can buy another wheel with rubber that would be great can anyone help me out? Cheers Steve

i went from a turbosmart to a turbotech manual boost controller. the turbo smart was not smooth, it spiked, lost boost etc. the turbotech is very linear in delivery, smooth up to 10psi then holds all the way on my stock turbo i couldnt recomend it more for the $30 or $40 it costs.

the just jap one is pretty decent looking, im running a similar setup now using stock piping. however i will be upgrading to a just jap type 2 or mspec greddy because i plan on running a foward facing plenum, and boxing up my pod and using the hole from the standard intercooler piping to run a CAI. keep that in mind when you purchase... if you buy an intercooler that retains factory piping you cant use it with a foward facing plenum, and it makes space tight for a cai setup

haha i didnt even notice the other one. slow day at work today... my brains not working awesome thanks qwk32 i'll check that out. should an untuned rb25det be getting a small amount of knock? it shouldnt always be at zero should it? i may have read that wrong somewhere though
-
double post
-
yeah as a whole its fairly easy, was just this knock sensor thing im a little unsure of. just make sure all your connections are sweet. the splitters i used werent the best for the job and made a dodgy connection. caused me a bit of trouble.
-
thanks zennon i have that printed out at home, but found it pretty much all over the shop and confusing. ill try and have a read through it again. but from what i can see there is 1 wire from the safc for knock and it needs to be tapped into both knock wires on the ecu.

thats what i thought but not sure cos i havent got the manual or anything with me at work. i'll check that diy too thanks mate
