  1. My two reasons for off loading my Power FC in my GTR was a) Fuel cut rev limiter and b) air flow metres. Those are the reasons I got rid of it and went ViPec plug in. Sat inside a standard ecu case and gave me a lot better all around tune and could keep crappin on but won't.
  2. he got it at cost price locally as he buys a lot of gear and a lot of GTX's through there. The turbo itself wasn't horrible but just sheer size of the GTX45 housing is what killed the wallet. He has bought a mixture of GTX3071 and GTX3076's for various projects of his and the Tial rear housings were very reasonable. But this one was a killer lol
  3. Yea it should work a lot better than mine. I was still grimacing when he hacked into a near $3000 housing though haha
  4. Advan RG's have to be possibly one of the best Jap rims.. They look epic in gold!
  5. A few of my GTR Thats how you fab up sh*t for a Jap car… In a fixed back Bride seat!
  6. In reference to that though why do you think the new Y62 Patrol is petrol? Same principle as the new Pathfinder going Petrol only is because the UAE and USA have had these models for over 3 years now. In terms of a global market who cares about 23 odd million people wanting dictate what the majority of Nissans market is wanting? They are actually a bloody nice car and to be honest when I was selling cars for Nissan most people who bought Pathfinders weren't traversing uninhabited worlds they were just using as a 7 seater they may take camping and sling a trailer or a camper behind. Mark from Godzilla Motorsports bought a Ti one a few months back and he has the old diesel one swell and he loves it. Just food for thought. Just because it aint diesel doesn't mean its a shit car
  7. The Navara is a good car ST onwards with the 140kw motor are solid but if you go the 6 speed manual you will always have to float the clutch in first gear as the ratio is quite tall especially if your towing close to its 3 tonne max (standard spec) the STX and STX550 are the gun choice though. 170kw and 550nM of torque through a very nice 7 speed auto is amazing to drive and tow with. I borrowed my old boss's STX550 and towed a car trailer with my GTR on it and it drove like it didn't have anything hitched to it
  8. Theres also the possibility the ATTESSA hasn't been properly bled meaning it'll be more or less RWD… Just a thought that is. I bled mine up after changing to my old twin plate and it made a world of difference. If the gearbox has come out at any stage the ATTESSA needs to be bled
  9. Exactly why I binned the kit. Had nothing but issues with it from the day I bought it. This is a mod a mate of mine is doing to his Ti R31 Skyline. GTX45 with Tial Rear housing, Tial 60mm gate and also a built RB30 single cam. He hacked into a $2700 rear housing as he couldn't plumb it from his manifold due to a 5 inch dump lol so had to go off the housing
  10. I had no need as I wasn't running an electronic boost controller so there was no need for a vac feed above the diaphragm. We eliminated all variables so it was just running gate pressure. took the .7 bar spring out and put a 1 bar spring in it, also tried vac feeds from the plenum and the compressor housing etc. Tried everything but the second it got to 4200rpm it would spike from 14psi straight past 35psi. Every one of these I have seen done the waste gate feed has been different to mine. This was a kit supplied from ETM and I had no joy with it as I asked him what do you recommend and he said this configuration would give the best boost control however that was not the case I ended up selling the kit and moving on to another kit that worked wonders and never had an issue controlling boost.
  11. ^^^ Nitto pumps for $1700 what drugs?? $1300 or less for a Nitto pump I have been seeing. Other than that go REIMAX gears for sure
  12. This is my GT3582R setup bought from ETM.. nothing but issues and wouldn't control boost. If its plumbed into the right place on the housing should work but mine was obviously not in that basket. Granted mine is high mount blah blah not on a standard config. As soon as I changed to conventional gate of manifold configuration problem solved
  13. Thats a tiny ass garage! JUst barely fits in length wise lol. Is it just me or in that workshop theres a white R33 GTR with gold GTC's on it with what looks like a TRD Supra wing fitted to it….
  14. As I saw with Noy on one of his FB updates there was a R33 GTR with huge K's on it wasn't R grade but not far off it and was at a dealer in Parramatta it was sold through action for around $4-5k landed and they are selling it with the magical 60xxx km on the clock for $32,990!!! thats where its a rip and completely ludicrous. You pay for the condition. If its a genuine low k car but still has issues the sale price gets renegotiated simple. You pay for condition overall not just based on k's.
  15. I used my 33 GTR for a daily for around 3 years, single turbo converted, twin plate, coil overs, roll cage (rear half cage) BRIDE fixed backs and external fuel system etc. Completely stock engine internally with a GT3582R initially then a Precision 6262 and it went well considering its modifications. The only thing I got sick of were the seats lol. In saying that it got service religiously with Royal Purple fluids through everything. Stock standard theres actually a bit of lag however once I threw on some front pipes and a cat back exhaust with a Power FC ecu it was a lot better and then went to the single turbo and I was sold. Everyone was saying oh shit its going to be a lag monster blah blah blah and I disagree completely. The all wheel drive is a hoot to drive. When we installed the the twin plate clutch we carefully bled the ATTESSA system so it wasn't rear wheel drive heavy and it was great fun through corners, get slight over steer but you just point the wheel where you need to go and keep the foot buried for maximum giggles. I thoroughly enjoyed my old GTSt with rear wheel drive however when I pushed the GTR through its paces a little after a few days I instantly knew I made the right choice. As stated many times though, make sure you've got a healthy bank account
  16. Then moved onto a 1997 R33 GTR in KR4 silver. Was stock then went through 3 single turbo kits before ending up with a Precision. Loved the look with the SSR SP1R's. At one stage had a carbon rear diffuser to go with the carbon lip spoiler.
  17. My first car was this Series 1994 GTSt. Was almost stock but with a set of Keiichi Tsuchiya 17x9 inch wheels and 400R copy front bumper. Went through a bit of change and the big change was a backyard matte black spray job whilst fitted up the Trust style front bumper, M SPort side skirts and rear bar, Series 2 GTSt wing. 18x9 +20 front and 18x10 +5 Work VSKF's, also thrown in was an R32 GTR RB26 with Apexi Djetro, full exhaust, Bride Zeta III fixed back, G4 coil overs, rose jointed camber, castor, toe rods and up graded bushes plus Defi's. Was a fun ride and went well with 240 rwkw
  18. Can vouch is genuine all the way. Have seen it up close many times
  19. Will give a free bump as well. Seen this package in its early days after build and it sounded like a f**king mental angry chainsaw on crack! Would be a perfect buy for someone looking to save a few dollars
  20. Lol lost track of this build! Been keen to see the finishing results
  21. I'd be interested to know if they are the stock 6 speed ratio's on the diff's as 5 speeds would be better off with 4:11's rather than 3:7's aren't they in the 6 speeds Terry? Owning an R33 GTR myself I'd rather put a stock Getrag 6 speed in it before throwing in an OS 5 Speed. Not having a shot at all but just a little confusing as to why that would have been done.
  22. Shit thats a decent dealer trade value! I remember reading through the build thread you did up on this so for the asking price its more than reasonable
  23. I am still a little confused as to why there would be a OS Giken 5 speed in this in place of the factory getrag 6 speed Otherwise impressive car none the less
  24. Lovin the mid topic debate of the VE's etc surpassing the GTR.. My old boy has a 6 litre manual VZMaloo while its nice enough to drive even the stock power is useless unless your in 3rd gear in the dry. Its heavy and feels lazy. Gearbox feels like its been rigged up out of a farm tractor. My old set up in the GTR was only pushing around 330kw but the fact it had a bright green half cage, fixed back seats, a very un muffled exhaust system and a 2 inch screamer pipe got a lot of attention just cruising around from anything ranging from a Mazda 121 all the way to having a a turbo Porsche Cayenne thing trying to g me up. I had learnt a lot of hard lessons with my previous GTST doing dumb shit that repeated once in the GTR and the police didn't like it to much. Having held on to all my infringement notices and fines its a pretty good motivator to not do it as I could have saved myself a lot of money being a bit more decisive about driving spiritedly. Reverting back to the V8 thing I would never buy a domestic V8 hack because from my experiences driving them they are just that. The GTR has been the best all round car I have owned. Comfortable, agile (enough), sounds tits, is very imposing, great base to get power from and in the end the interior doesn't fall apart like late model Commo's and Falcons. Build quality is a lot better. While mine was definitely not the quickest thing around good god it put a big smile on my face
