  1. I honestly don't know about that, when i find a competent tuner up here that can tune my car without going crazy and leaning it out then i'll let you know how it goes. However for what it is i enjoy this car a whole lot more, sorry to upset you with my opinion Phil. At the moment running 10psi with a power fc, std dumps with the trust front pipes and rsr catback running on a power fc base map it feels quicker than my old car... however the ass dyno is alot different than the real thing. I did have alot of fun in my old car but i don't regret my decision one bit to buy a GTR. As it sits now my new GTR is at the same stage as my old GTST/26 car was at.... so it should be fairly close. Let the fun begin
  2. Yea i did unfortunately, it was a great decision to get a skyline to with a 26.... i just should have bought a GTR 2yrs ago instead of pro longing the agony Over 5yrs it has soaked up a bit of money, mostly through getting jacked around by a couple of workshops but hey you live and learn...
  3. Easy now Phil, I wouldn't go for a standard 32 GTR due to the weaker oil pump drive and no crank collar. GTST's are great value, however after being down that road i decided to just stop trying as i could have rebuilt my old car but it just wasn't worth it. I'v always wanted one and now i have got it so i am happy and was very suprised as to how different they actually do drive
  4. I would advise re tuning as it does change alot of things, it takes about a metre of intercooler piping out of the equation Haven't come across those plenums but a friend of mine used the plazmaman plenum and it came up sweet
  5. No it actually hooked up in second pretty good once they got rebuilt with softer spring rates Phil. I am not talking in terms of getting off the line as thats just common sense, going around corners damping and rebound wise over bumps everything in every way is better compared to the old setup. the only thing that i want to change is puting swaybars into it to cancel out the little bit of body roll there is. If i drove in anger yes i could get it to spin 3rd, however i could race and it would hold down 2nd pretty well. In my opinion i wouldn't step back to a gtst as to get them up to the same power that GTR's can make standard is amazing. My old car when it had a RB25 in it i needed full exhaust, Power FC, Z32 AFM, Fuel Pump, Intercooler with piping, splitfire coilpacks + labour to make 190rwkw My new GTR had a set of pod filters on it and it made 185kw at all four wheels Then ontop of that they look better with the pumped out guards and nicer aero kit than any gtst has been blessed with Its just a better car to drive in every aspect for me
  6. PM Sent, also i think your RRP is a little off, even with the $ going to shite
  7. A firend of mine drove my 33 GTR on the weekend after puting in the oil cooler and he was impressed with it in near standard trim. He has an RB25 with GT3076 on it making 230rwkw on a fairly basic tune atm. Also we have had a go at 80k rolling start race and we are pretty much side by side the whole way to 5th gear. my car can't be making to much more than 200-210awkw so besides being a nicer car to drive it suprises a few ppl. Also the way it tracks around corners is amazing. its totally different to my old car being a 33 GTST with G4's and adjustable arms left right and centre.... the stock GTR gear handles better imo
  8. I have owned both an R33 GTST which was my first car and now have a R33 GTR. My gtst ended up with an RB26 in it... so it was pre destined to make the step up. The 2 are wildly different beasts. I find the GTR alot nicer place to be. Interior is nicer, i can fit the rims i want under the guards without sweating about clearence issues. Yes it still handles like a RWD to some extent but the AWD kicks in at the right times. As stated by Roy i noticed on a few spirited touge runs that oil temps went North and quick. The car now runs a 19row oil cooler and its flat on 86degrees and has peeked at 92. If you have the money to spend pay a little extra and get into a GTR..... If you find that your missing the driftability of the rwd just do a launch and you'll soon forget about drift. I know i have
  9. Very nice feature, it took a while but you finally got a taker. Be interesting to see yor next project dude
  10. I hate to say this but the i think the turbo is going to be the limiting factor in this set up, as the head is now to efficient and i'd imagine that it would run out of steam in the top end. However i have no doubt that this set up has monumental midrange and low end punch. I think to get 290-300rwkw with that turbo would all but be impossible. Have been for a ride in this car when it was running std cams and it was very impressive but even then i could still notice a slight drop off in power delivery towards the top end
  11. Or just get yourself a Plazmaman plenum kit, $900 odd. Look a bit better than the Greddy ones and also took me and a mate a couple hours to put on and it was all done, you can retain std TB without an adaptor plate like the Greddy plenum and you can also use the std throttle cable.... except for the intercooler piping does need to bee addressed obviously
  12. Kier Wilson's 8second GTR still uses standard GTR BOV's last time i saw it
  13. Nah -7's you'll get there mate, if not who cares, it'll still be bloody quick
  14. Thats the same with my old combo, only thing i changed was to a Djetro, exhaust, FMIC, and 12psi with stock turbines on a 32 RB26 and it was doing 240rwkw at around 70%. In saying that 570's should get you out of trouble and on to 300kw, which will be a stack of fun on the street
  15. Actually now that you mention it, my old combo was doing 240rwkw and was on about 70% duty cycle, 95% does seem a little high for that power
  16. Thats on the money, there is a mate of mine with a 26 in his 180SX making 306rwkw with -7's with the same ECU and 740cc injectors, FMIC, full exhaust and fuel pump. He's doing this on 16psi so its definately in reach mate, very impressive
  17. I stepped up into GTR ownership and i haven't looked back. Mine was a 1997 series III GTR and its superb I would go the 33 as it does have a couple advantages like the bigger/stronger oil pump drive and also the dump pipes are a little better flowing. Plus as you said you'll be driving it on long trips away on the weekend and the extra space does come in handy I added a power fc, full 3.5in exhaust and 12psi and its running 235awkw and its very punchy around town. Also as they are a little heavier they ride a little softer than the others so its not to bad at all I would spend the same money and get a newer car imo Happy hunting

  19. Can confirm this. i was working at the JB and actually sold this to deane. It was an absolute pain in the ass trying to get one up from python and as stated took almost a bloody year to get most likely due to the above mentioned recall. I can confirm that this system arrived late november just before i left JB and was picked up after xmas by deane, this model should be free and clear from the models that were recalled Cheers Marty
  20. I have the Trust MX front pipes and i am of the opinion they go from 2.5inch to 3.5inch as it meets up perfect with my 3.5in cat, although mine is a little loud as the catback has just the rear muffler and no resonator, but the front pipes helped immensely with the stock turbo's ramping onto boost quicker and gave it a nice top end howl to
  21. Bugger if it was Pull type i'd have snatched it
  22. Haha this is rediculous, what is the fixation with flutter
  23. Got a stock R33 GTR exhaust which will bolt up to a gtst aswell, only problem is i am in townsville lol
  24. That sounds like a Varex muffler or something, never seen that stock on a 34 GTT. also, why the hell did they make you rev it to 5000rpm? when mine got tested it was to 4000-4500rpm from memory
