couple of shots from Circuit Club: Went for a bit of a spin! Had a blast and Dan came third overall for the day with a 1.08! Best I managed was 1.12 so I definitely have a long way to go with my driving, but still a PB for me. And the D2's make a HUGE difference to my confidence, damn they pull up hard. Anyway, the old girl is off for a few more changes, should be interesting when it comes back

Winmax W5 Brake Pads
JimmyRickard replied to JimmyRickard's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Gave the Winmax W5's their first run on Saturday at Wakefield. Have to say I was mightily impressed with them. Bedded them in along with new rotors and they copped a hiding all day and were biting really hard, with no signs of fade. Have to say I was pretty shocked and impressed with the braking performance overall, coming from the standard GTR brakes, the D2's pull up like a mofo. Won't hesitate to purchase these pads again considering the price. Just make sure they have them on the shelf! -

I mean literally enter. I have no illusions about being competitive, it just sounds like a fun event to be involved in. What times are you doing around SMSP Dunc? -

I would like to enter next year, but it looks like I would be in open class and I'd probably get murdered. What's the barrier for entry like? -

The New Soft Brake Pedal Thread.
JimmyRickard replied to Abo Bob's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Recently just fitted a brand new 365mm D2 Brake kit, with WinmaxW5 race pads in the front and A1RM's in the rear, and topped up and bled with Castrol React SRF. I haven't run the car on the track yet, but just moving the car onto the trailer I found the pedal to be soft and mushy. Is this to be expected with new pads and rotors? -
oh wow. website looked shady as f**k but I guess I was hoping they just had a shitty website designer lol. was this definitely a scam? anyone lose money?

Part of the reason I am looking at a dogbox is they are supposedly 'stronger' than a regular gearbox as they can take more power etc. but the more I hear about them the more temperamental they sound and it seems like the running costs don't get any less after the initial outlay. After buying a dogbox, what sort of dollars are required to maintain it once it's in? Does it matter that I'm not running a lot of power? I have used a ppg dogbox in a commodore cup around Wakefield and it was awesome, so I know the benefits when driving with one. It's just for $8k I could buy 8-9 regular gearboxes

Found this on eBay, is that what they are worth? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Nissan-R33-Gtr-Rb26-PPG-5-Speed-Straight-Cut-Dog-Box-/321456969727?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4ad85417ff&_uhb=1 I am not putting out astronomical power (under 300kw) so other than advantage of quicker shifts I am having trouble seeing the value in spending over $8k on my gearbox. Yet, I still want one

What are the options as far as straight cut dog boxes go? I found a PAR dogbox for sale on ebay that was going pretty cheap, but apparently PAR's boxes are shit. I hear Quaife/Trust are pretty good, but parts are hard to source. And of course PPG, which are good but pricey. Any other options out there?

Haha thanks. Hopefully my stickers turn out better than theirs also

Great thanks for that. Are you participating in this years championship?

How do you go about registering for next years season? Can't see anything on the website

Ha that thing is awesome! From memory the paint all up was about $400, but no idea how much I used, I didn't spray it myself I just paid for it Just be wary, I could never find a "Calsonic Blue" paint code, we started with LM Blue and just added colour to get it to match, so make sure the guy painting knows what he's doing
