  1. its bomex, my missus had the side skirts and rear bar on her lancer
  2. i was talkin about these today and aparently they will give you an incorrect reading of engine temprature, but will give you a reading of water temp going through your radiator... i was told for a accurate reading to put the temp sensor as close as you can to the heads, get a custom made t-piece to accomidate both factory and aftermarket unit or, in some cars there are bungs put in from the factory where they may have planned to put something there or for some other reason unknown... but i think i will be happy to put the piece on the top radiator hose. temp there will be close enough to the heat made by/in the heads. my bit 4dftn
  3. i will look into both options, thanks guys
  4. or is there another way like a t piece or put it directly near factory sender?
  5. i have a mechanical autometer water temp gauge... will i need this piece that goes inbetween the hose? if so willing to purchase if anyone has 1. does anyone have a picture of 1? cheers 4drftn
  6. oh and yes he went back to the place and they replaced them...with another set of BSA's! but different style.
  7. soapy water is what i use, have to be careful on what cleaning products you use with chrome wheels ect. so i use soapy water... i guy i knew bought a set of chrome wheels for his commy and the day he put them on he went to a car wash and used the high pressure washer and it took the protective layer over the chrome off which left yellow looking marks over the wheel. they were the BSA brand wheels, but this was a few years ago, wheels have come along way in quality.
  8. bump
  9. TPS could need adjusting... i cleaned my aac but didnt help 1 bit.
  10. im unsure, im sure it said error, anyway microtech tech guy sent me a message back sayin- You need to go to each of those screens & watch the screen. It will flash every 2 seconds with the name of the sensor & then will flash either "OK" or "Err" next to each sensorYou can download the ECU manual here (link went here) i viewed the manual but from what i read i think its best for me to find someone that has had experience with ECU's...
  11. does that mean if i put aftermarket coilpacks in i will have to get a re tune. you cant just put these in?
  12. oh ok. i probably should have stated my car is an r33 GTS-T (RB25) and it has a different turbo (KKR). so maybe like you said it probably isnt used anymore. Im guessing the stock turbos had this coolant line directly feeding into stock turbo.
  13. hi, had my car parked at work the other day and went to the shop and come back to park in the same spot and noticed coolant on the ground. looked in the engine bay and discovered cooland dripping from a lenght of piping coming from the back of the motor. looking at it it looks to me as it has been blocked off because i cant find the other end to it and its just leaking. i havent yet gotten under the car for a look yet but i tryed to look at someone elses car but they have a turbo heat sheild and i cant see. can anyone tell me if there car has this pipe blocked off or if it continues to go somewhere and i just cant see it. sorry about the pics as the turbo and dump pipe is in the way. yellow - arrow marks the piping and the piece off hose which i suspect has a bit of steel blocking it. red - marks where it could be broken cheers 4drftn
  14. i use 10/40 mobil. but the last service i used the valvoline 15/50 dura blend. iv been told when you use an oil on your car to stick with it, mixing other oils all the time can cause trouble. does the original user manual/booklet tell you to use syntetic based or sythetic blended oils? in a magazine write up they tested sythetic based oils and found that they can cause serious problems for your lifters ect. i will look for the article maybe someone may have mentioned this in another thread.
  15. hi, i have a blitz asttx turbo timer and when i turn the ignition off the timer is set to 1min & 30 sec. But apparently with the turbo timer i have it depending on what temp the turbo gets to the time should vary. even if the car has been running for a couple of seconds the countdown is still 1.30min. shouldnt it be a short countdown? what should i set it too? is 1.30min too long? i have a KKR turbo which is bit bigger than stock, does that make a diffrence on time? any info will be great... cheers
  16. i sent them a message hopefully i get a reply.
  17. when i first got my car it fluttered because the bov was jammed. but ran perfectly. the compression surge forced the air through my HKS pod filter making the flutter...
  18. did you have your brakes on when going through? if you have your brake lights on in the photo you can say that there was a car that was slow infront of you and you couldnt get through the intersection... worked for a guy i knew anyway. got away with it
  19. it could also have been resprayed with acrylic over 2 pac without an etch primer or something... but r33's and earlier were sprayed in acrylic from factory, im sure. anyways you can put 2 pac over acrylic but acrylic over 2 pac needs decent amouts of primer or an etch primer for extra bite...so iv been told acrylic paint creates layers, thats why some cars get clear peeling, and 2 pac bonds or fuses together. you could try using a colour polish. i think autobahn use to supply colour polish. just find a colour polish that is close to the colour of the car... its also good for scratches over your paint work too.
  20. iv had one of these type r ones ages ago, only it didnt have the other 3 inbuilt big red and big yellow from memory was for the shift light but one of them had to be spliced into another wire to get the shift light to operate properly. green im sure was tacho sig. and black was earth. im sure i have the old diagram somewhere. i will post it up if i find it goodluck 4drftn
  21. how did ya go with it? mine is doing all the things stated above might have a bash myself... if it dont work, where can i get one new? and how much

There is nobody in my area that can help me as they arnt familair with the microtech ecus. 1: WAT AIR HOM REF ERROR CHK 1 2: MAP RPM TPS BATT ERROR CHK 2 *im hoping someone is familiar with microtech ecus and can tell me what these errors mean. cheers 4drftn
