  1. Yeah, the series 1 engine has an ignitor module (or whatever the correct terminology is) on top of the coilpack cover up near the firewall. Information I wish I had 2 weeks ago before I bought these. $400.00 delivered now by the way.
  2. Item: Set of 6 Splitfire Coilpacks Age: 2 Days Condition: Brand new. Fitted only to realise they were the wrong type. Price: $450.00 Delivered To Fit: R33 GTST Series 1, and according to the box RB26DETT, RB25DE, RB20DET and RB20DE Location: Rockhampton, Queensland. Contact: Brad 0438 119 131 Comments: For some reason my series 1 R33 has standard coilpacks and loom for a series 2. So these are no good. Bought brand new from Slide Performance for $525.00 delivered.
  3. For the guys who were having problems with the needles getting stuck, has anyone got any good suggestions as to how to stop this from happening? Glue has been mentioned, but I don't know whether it will be visible when they're lit. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
  4. Hi Lucien, If it's not too late, count me in for this also. 94 R33 GTS25T Thanks Mate.
  5. I wouldn't say my lifters are overly loud, and as far as I know the car hasn't overheated. At least not since I've had it (2 years).
  6. No mine is in the same narrow rev range you're talking about. Not only 1st gear, but any gear as long as it's the same range. After about 2 minutes in the morning, once the engine warms up it disappears. I'm assuming it's because the engine warms up, but don't know for sure. If I drive out of my estate at less than ~2000 revs (2nd gear) then it doesn't do it. I've had my oil filter changed a few times since I've had the car and it didn't help me. I'd really like to know what it is, because it doesn't sound healthy, and it's quite loud.
  7. Does the noise disappear when the engine heats up? Mine does similar for about the first one or two minutes in the morning, then it disappears. If I leave it sit for a few hours so it cools down again, the noise re-occurs. The severity and duration seems to vary with how cold the engine is.
  8. Vendetta, Is this for a GTR or a GTST? Also, does it come with a hand controller?
  9. Guys, I'm chasing a second hand Power FC and Hand Controller for a 94 R33 GTST. Looking to pay around $800 - $900. [email protected] Thanks, Brad.
  10. Yeah, mine's a weird problem. The noise stops and starts depending on throttle position (and even that varies). I can be maintaining say 2000 rpm in 2nd and it will make this noise, if I back off the throttle completely it may stop, or if I slightly increase throttle it may stop. Then it may stop and start at various times again depending on how I'm driving. After a few minutes (and it seems to be lasting longer over time) it will stop completely. I'm assuming this is because something has warmed up sufficiently. I would have thought lifters would have been a constant ticking who's frequency would vary with revs, but be continual until it got warm. It doesn't seem to cause any performance problems, it just sounds like crap and is embarrasing. Don't mean to take over this thread, but I think we may be having similar issues.
  11. Hi JimX, Did you ever solve this problem? If so, what did you have to do to fix it? Thanks Mate, Brad.
  12. Does the noise stop when the car warms up, or will it do it all day? I have a similar sounding noise in my 33 but by the time I get anywhere to show anyone the car is warm and it doesn't do it anymore.
  13. Hi meshmesh, Has anything further come of this? I responded to the poll but I might be up for a new clutch sooner than originally thought. Thanks.
  14. Jet, any chance of getting in on this at this late stage?
  15. Same here. they look awesome! thanks Mate.
