Anytime i have had to deal with the police has been a pleasure in the act. The thing with Canberra is its small if you have a good record are polite tell them what they want, chances are you wont be harassed regardless of the car you drive/where you drive/what ever time. on the flip side if you have a bad record are arrogant drive something that screams defect me then they will be on you like bears are to picnic baskets and every cop will know you.

i have a 3071 turbo that had been sitting in my garage. i sent it to gcg to get a rear housing put on as the current one developed a slight crack. the problem is that i'v been given a quote for close to 1300, does this sound normal or am i being overcharged because i can buy a new turbo for not much more.

sorry by generic are you guys referring to hoses with formed bends that you can cut to length. i think this is a pretty important topic as these motors are getting pretty old and these hoses are bound to go pop one day. Thanks guys i'l post up a picture of what my block look like thanks to a very small coolant leak from one of these hoses. just a quick note i got my call from Nissan and the cost for 6 hoses is just on 400 and i require another that they are sourcing.
-
long story short guys i have a S2 R33 and i have no choice but to replace all the water hoses under the intake plenum. why might you ask.... when my second hand motor was fitted on of the hoses under the plenum didn't have a clamp on it which caused coolant to get sprayed over the the other hose and caused them to turn to utter shite bla bla bla. the problem i am face with now is that to replace the hoses i'm going to have to go genuine but some of the hoses are worth $70+. now i know the rb26 has a complete silicone water/heater hose replacement for around $300, is there such a kit for the 25 are there any other options.... any ideas guys Thanks

its been eating me up for a while but does any one recognize the brand/maker of these rims..... Thanks guys

Moral Dillemma Regarding My Gtr
Greekos replied to spec-V's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
i followed that rule when i bought my 33 and boy was i wrong, when you buy someone's modified car you get a few things both good and bad, you get the extra parts, the extra performance, and a heap of other goodies but Sometimes you get their shortcuts, and bad workmanship ect for example my car had bare wiring in fuel tank hanging about 4cm away from a butchered fuel cradle, i got this surprise and about a 100 others i rather not explain, when i bought my car it looked clean the owner was middle aged and he seemed honest, but it was the workshops working and modifying the car who cut corners....... in the end you know the history of your car it in pretty good condition and you know any problems, its up to you... but weigh your options up -
i'd say perfect time for an upgrade.......

Rb25 Performance Parts
Greekos replied to Greekos's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
JJR Dump is $150 with delivery stock manifold is $50 plus delivery Turbo is 1200 with braided oil feed -
Turbo is Garrett 3071r Gtst from GCG which has the Nissan 6bolt rear housing and is in very good condition with minimal shaft play, comes with braided oil line. made 250rwkw at 17psi and was used in my daily driver and has a 1bar actuator standard cast manifold off an rb25 has warped slightly but requires a decent surface grind, studs have been removed, JJR Stainless dump/front pipe. I'm after 1600 for the lot but I'm pretty negotiable Pictures will be up shortly can post items at buyers expense. feel free to cantact on 0403281331 or pm for more info

Duty Of Care With A Tuner And Your Motor?
Greekos replied to Rolls's topic in General Automotive Discussion
the tuner should know whats going on with your motor when its on the dyno, for example tuner puts car on dyno notices something is wrong with the motor, tuner then pulls car off dyno and informs customer of problem. that what a good tuner should do a bad tuner would try an tune around the problem. personal experience when i bought my car it has just been tuned by a quality workshop with a well established name in Canberra, problem was my car had a dodgy fuel pump which would cause AFR's to skyrocket once boost was being made that tuner then removed heaps of ignition and turned the knock light off. once i received my car i took it to my tuner who knows imports inside out he placed my car on the dyno found the problem caused by the previous tuner. he made 3 runs in shoot out mode to confirm the crazy AFR's and retarded ignition he pulled the car off the dyno made no charge. he fixed the fuel pump which caused the previous motor to fail and tuned the car and charged me for the new fuel pump and dyno time that was spent tuning. he also rang the other workshop and asked why they had tuned the car the way the had. i have done 40k since my tuner fixed the car and have never had a problem in regrads to the motor running twice the factory power (touch wood). in the end any GOOD tuner should know what going on with your engine if the motor is'nt in good condition it shouldn't be anywhere near a dyno. -
Best Rb25 Turbo Upgrade For Drifting
Greekos replied to Cr@zY FreD's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
if you want 350hp u may run into boost control issues as said above, when running the stock manifold, your going to have decide as to how serious you want to be about your up grade, do you either get the bolt on and run into a wall when ur after more, or spend the extra couple of grand and go external gate, 6boost manifold, and a decent garret turbo. why not get some cams and timing gears as well.....etc its a pretty hard choice and decent investment what ever you decide on think about what your going to do with the car spend the extra now and save the head ache latter -

Stolen Subaru Liberty Rs (and Possibly An R33?)
Greekos replied to W1ngnut's topic in Australian Capital Territory
did the Lib have an alarm how was it stolen if you dont mind me asking -
its fine and well to be buying the best quality oil and the most expensive oil but you should be asking, what is the correct grade of oil, how often do i change it, how i drive track/street, do i need to overfill fill it........(RB cheap fix). the oil debate will go on until we run out. i have a 80pg book about motor oil on my computer. it a well worth read. What car are you putting this oil in to give everyone an idea as to what recommend. As person above ^^^

Car make/type/model: Nissan Skyline R33 Overall condition of car: 4/10 gearbox and diff is just about gone, alot of dodgy things to fix How is the car treated: 7/10 Maintenance level: 8/10 Modifications: Stockish Insurance: None Estimaged power: ????? Estimated to the tank fuel usage: 350KM to the 50L tank Estimated $ spent per year to maintain: i dont want to know. comments: i bought this car for a little under the market value over a year and a half ago, my skyline gets abused or should i say molested hahaha, since my ownership i have never had a moment when i wasn't fixing or replacing something mainly (dodgy work from Sydney workshops from the previous owner) i never get a dull moment and i have traveled over 40k in my ownership but i have never broken down my skyline keeps on going 'touch wood'.
