  1. c & s transmissions in Dickson been building boxes for 20 years cant recommend them enough.
  2. i have the exact same problem mine being main shaft and input shaft bearing are shot, i have play between the shafts, and will grind 5th 2nd and 4th. this happened to my car when i bought it thanks the previous owner not having enough oil inside. i replaced the gearbox oil with a fully synthetic oil and my box has lasted a over a year and is still going, the 33 box is a very strong unit in that year i covered 30k worth of highway, city driving, through the mountains, and plain straight out abuse by abuse i mean shifting from first to second to third as hard and and as quick as i could, and about a dozen burnouts to destroy worn tires after a full days worth of abuse. if i was you keep the box till it blows by then have some cash saved up and build it tough so then you can forget about it, in the end its up to your but if you pull the box apart not to replace the bearings, you might as well replace the 10+ year old syncros (how ever you spell it) and then one or two of the gears might been worth so replace them two. get the idea if your going to pull anything apart to fix do it properly and it will save you in the long run, bty way im talking from experience and i hope this long post gives you an idea as to what to do.
  3. spotted invrtd on sunday heading to the cotter
  4. cough cough, school holidays, that car will need a lot of tlc and twice as much $$$

  7. alright guys last minute but two spots mine and my sisters (theo and maxine) are up for grabs they are a afternoon session, reason being im stilll waiting for parts to arrive and i have exams that week pm me ur numbers if interested thanks guys
  8. i bought some second hand coilovers a while back i fitted them and took the car for a drive only to find out the rear pair was knocking, i got a quote to rebuild them and for a little extra money i could buy new ones. in the end i sold the coilovers and fitted some the stock ones back. with rebuilding coilovers you have to remove the strut top and spring so your only left with the dampener then you have to send it to a workshop which could take 2 or more weeks to do in the end some shops will charge u around 300 per shock. If i was you save your money and buy a full set of new coilovers because in the end once you fix the rears one day your going to have to fix the front set as well. don't quote me on costs and my sentence structure sucks as i just finished work.
  9. alright this is car related to some extent but i have recently been searching for some vinyl stickers or decals not for my car but for my partners snowboard. which shop or website would be able to help me out im after the one used on cars as they can handle a bit of wear and tear. Thanks guys
  10. DOT 3 Should be changed every year DOT 4 every two years this is under normal driving conditions, as other have said if you get brake fade/boil the brake fluid change it as you lowering boiling temp of fluid. once you boil brake fluid its useless.
  11. you have a leak, any i reckon that leak is coming from either a your exhaust manifold, or flange gasket on the turbo has failed forgot the exact name. that noise is caused by either snapped exhaust studs which is common or the bolts that hold your turbo to the manifold have come loose causing the gasket to fail. now if its not that you have a leak somewhere between your turbo and intake.
  12. trojan +1 before you call trojan have a look on http://www.lewisengines.com.au/category9_1.htm to see what sort of engine build your looking after, how much, how far you want or need to go. that website will give you a good idea as to where 10k can go in a rebuild.
  13. where is my name on the list dan eyyyyy
  14. take your car to a workshop that deals with imports or performance cars, your either going to find a fix by chance or end up doing some expensive damage.
  15. rossco 01 looks like your and my car have been spotted (simaler to when a robber picks a shop or house and starts to research as much as he can about it like does it have an alarm or what does the owner when he leaves the car ), i have the exact same thing happen to me but they were in a red commodore i got the rego down for a rainy day, sorry about keeping bumping this topic but by the looks of it there gonna keep stealing skylines as long as ther is a demand for parts. and they love the fact.
  16. bumpy, oh these are solid strut mounts bty
  17. oh me me me me, i have some hecktic jap spec coilovers we could put it it (there to low and knocking)
  18. i dont know if im being a little to careful but today i saw something very sus, there is a r33 parked in a busy carpark a car with 3 individuals (20 something wearing hoodies an those stupid Corey partyboy sunglasses) enters see the skyline stop about a meter away all three individuals look at the skyline then one of them gets on his phone while still looking at the skyline they drive a few meters park and wait in there car all three still look at the skyline for about 5min and then drive off...............everyone should read this as the skyline steeling is going to continue and by the looks of it they are picking their next victims. the skyline i mentioned is mine and i always have my eye it i know car thieves read forums its usually how they find out about your car so when i see something sus i take note of it
  19. hey its pretty unlikely that you have hudrolocked (how ever you spell it) your motor unless u drove through a half a meter puddle, the water would have to travel through your filter past the afm, the turbo, then intercooler and finally to your engine, and when you motor get enough water in there it bends your conrods, as it been said before in this thread check your electrics and intake piping, a having a couple cylinders missing firing sounds like a very bad knocking.
  20. 300 shipped to your door
  21. up for sale is some r33 gtst coilovers i bought them about 2 weeks ago and they are the kyb tanabe sustec there are no leaks, the fronts are in good condition but the rears are knocking which prob means they require some strut tops. im selling these as im reverting back to my standered suspesion for a while, these coilovers produce a very low ride height and a very firm ride, im after 500 or what ever you guys feel these are worth Thanks Theo feel free to pm or call 0403 281 331 and these are located in canberra.
  22. installed them today fronts and rears are doing there job only problem is the rears rattling like no tomorrow is there a war i can fit i my stock strut mounts to the rear coilovers as they are pretty much new
