  1. Also teh Momo wheel was an option from the factory... I have it in the accessories list for the car in FAST... Can't translate Japanese unfortunately so I can't tell which option codes mean exactly what... but it *was* an option... so even if the option wasn't applied from the factory, it could have been upgraded or such...
  2. Just poking around in FAST is appears that Series 2 Manual RB25DET cars were always equipped with LSD... Anyone? Kinda makes sense, as the Manual ones would be more likely to cause wheelspin!
  3. haha well... 1. I have to see your post... only saw it tonight... 2. I have to fire up my virtual machine with FAST in it... (since it doesn't run under Windows 7 LOL) 3. Have to compile the information into a post with screenshots etc.. 4. Got interrupted by a mate asking for computer build advise.
  4. OK here goes: The original Car is an 2001 RS FOUR S RB25DET 4WD Manual The Hood (Bonnet) is the same part across Autech and "Normal"... so would fit without changing the front cut Sorry have not checked the grille yet... Your car in the main screen of FAST: (the labels are Japanese but I translated them) RSFS == RS FOUR S Note: I also have "Z" for interior colour code my interior is black leather.. but then mine is also a Series 1 The Hood part number as shown in Parts Master (parts master shows all the cars a particular part number was applied to): This indicates the Hood was the same across Autech or "normal" The Stagea Option Code reference Diagrams (mostly Japanese but some is decipherable): Remembering that your Model code is: TGKPREFC34UDA----- So: 1 to 13 TGKPREFC34UDA 14 to 18 ----- (these seem to be optional equipment... LSD etc) (some TRIM levels have little optional equipment since they come with everything)
  5. ok will run that number see what we get... will post back with specs and screenies Ideally you would post this request in the Stagea part of the forums... but all good
  6. FAST Reckons the part number is: Part number: 43222-50J00 Description: BOLT-HUB it seems to be used across the Nissan car range, a quite common part... Incidentally the actual rear hub part number: 43202-85F00 (HUB ASSY-REAR aka HUB REAR WHEEL) (it seems this assembly includes the 5 "BOLT-HUB"s) The actual Hub is used by these vehicles: CAR, YYMM C35, 9706 on R33, 9702 on R34, 9805 on S14, 9701 on S15, 9901 on WC34, 9701 on F50, 0101 on Z32, 9701 on
  7. ok well year, engine, transmission, 2wd/4wd, and trim level is helpful... I will lookup and see if there are many different versions.. if not I will repost with the part numbers...
  8. just use http://translate.google.com/ the link you posted: http://translate.google.com/translate?prev...history_state0= The only down-side is ... are you trying to buy the item?? because that will be harder then trying to read it... lol
  9. wow what a great read, real car porn! Love your attention to detail and cleaning everything perfectly and replacing it... looks unbelievable. I love stock but I have to say your engine bay is looking spectacular! Just waiting for you to get a new house I guess.. hopefully with a big garage and a pit!? Good luck
  10. post your VIN or chassis num and I'll run it through FAST and try and figure out if it was optional or not... so far from what I can tell it was *optional* and similar (if not the same) as most of the RB bearing cars Y33 C33 C34 R33 etc All the optional ones are listed as "viscous" LSD so not sure about the "mechanical" ones.
  11. lol 12 to 30 mpg depending on how much you press the pedal...
  12. Also some parts are not listed or have "no part number available" But it's handy to lookup and cross reference and get an idea what the assemblies look like (diagrams) more guidelines then rules... lol
  13. Hi all, this post is an offer: I have a copy of Nissan FAST working here so if you give me your VIN or Chassis/Model/Year then I can lookup genuine parts and see what else used those parts... So the offer is, please post your questions here. then I can look it up and repost here... which means the parts thread gets some part numbers. Limitations: only have up to 2001 version so no newer cars are covered... However, R32, R33, R34, A31, C33 etc are in there so yeah. easiest to get exact results with the VIN Number in form (for example) WGNC34-004669 (this is my Stagea) This gives me trim level, engine type, even body colour ... Code... lol The program has a Parts Master module which if you enter a part number will show what cars that part was used on... I find handy for cross referencing to more common Nissans which are in the book at the local car part place. oh, PS if you give the NZ Plate number (for NZ users only) then I can use CarJam and lookup the VIN (usually)... so yeah. Cheers

  17. yep it works... if your coils have the usual "heat crack on the side" problem that most old coils get. Silicone or (in my case) high-temp gasket maker will fix the problem for a while... obviously if the coil is completely gone you need new one(s)... Quick test by just taping them up if that fixes it you can move on to silicone or epoxy etc... note that the cracks are so small they can be hard to see...
  18. Well I know nothing about after-market valves and such but I have access to Nissan FAST parts lookup software... so I can lookup part numbers if that helps at all... Just need the model year or vin or chassis number of the car the engine is from... otheriwise I can guess based on the year... it appears from a quick survey that exhaust valves are the same for most early RB25DE and RB25DET... would differ for the NEO heads. 19. Hmm I PMed Chook and also obtained a copy of Nissan's FAST software... (albeit from 2001)... however I believe that both your part number from Nissan, and the 48520-23U25 part would probably fit and be the correct part... I have discovered that Nissan has a complex "Super-cession" system whereby new matching parts get new numbers... In fact a major part of the FAST software is dedicated to "Alternate part lookups"... however the aftermarket parts market often sticks to the older part numbers, so going to my local Partmaster to get a 3rd-party version their book lines up with the old part number... Cheers for all the help, Gaspard
  20. Ok so here in New Zealand, Nissan is not very friendly... They first quoted $230 for a tie rod end Then after using the part number above which is listed as a "Socket kit" (they said) it would cost $150+GST Then calling aftermarket parts place "Partmaster" they said $63 for R34 GTR tie rod end which matches part number: 48520-23U25 Note after searching all available Stagea information, I found various references to the part number ending in 26 and most of the threads don't have the final information of which part fit... but this one: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/St...39#entry4248839 Seems to indicate that 48520-23U25 would probably fit... so for a $63 risk I'll probably order one and see if it fits... Any advice? my car: 1996 Nissan Stagea RS FOUR V Chassis: WGNC34-004669 Model: TGKNREAC34UDAAB-CA Engine: RB25DET 2498
  21. Mine was switched to outline mode too, but I think it was when I used google search to search for a page, and went to the page, after that it was switched... perhaps this should be a preference in the user's profile, so each new session it's reset to your choice, so it doesn't get changed to that mode for too long accidentally... I searched for an option in the user profile pages, but didn't find it... It did not occur to check the options on the actual thread... arrgh oh well now it's fixed, thanks!
  22. - New Zealand - 26 yr old male driver, no claims or accidents so far. (had license since age 15) 1996 Stagea RS FOUR V w/ 155km, intercooler, dynatron alarm State Insurance, Full coverage, including glass (I got a new windscreen free!!) NZD $822.84 a year, I pay monthly $68.57 I have coverage for my younger friend (he's 24,) it only changes the excess from $300 to $1000 when he's driving. ~$665 AUD
  23. Done! It was a lot easier then I thought it would be, the two hoses attached to the AAC valve assembly don't have to be removed until you've taken all the 3 bolts out, then you have "wiggle" room. The 3rd bolt is not visible but there was just enough room to get a small 10mm spanner in there and crack it then take it out with socket. Used WD-40 to loosen up the vacuum tubes and a screwdriver to pry them a little, came off pretty easy. used heaps of carb cleaner on the valve body... the idle adjust screw, counted the number of turns when removing it and put it back to the same setting. (15 full turns on mine, if you were wondering) the idle adjust screw plastic collar was not too bad, makes the screw stiff to put back in but it does go in... seemed to be a flathead/Phillips number 3 combo screw, looks like you could strip it pretty easy with bad tools. The o-ring was blue on mine, pretty good chance of losing it if you're not careful, be sure you pull the solenoid off in a clear area so you can see it if it falls.. push the valve in and out when you're carb-cleaning it to get all the crap out of it. I dropped the 3rd bolt into the engine bay when I was reassembling it... but luckily it made it all the way down to the ground... whew! Valve works smoothly now, I'm guessing my occasional stalling will be a thing of the past.
  24. Year: 1996 Model: Stagea RS FOUR V Trans: Auto Fault/cons: (some items compare to my old crappy 1991 Subaru Legacy) - Hairline cracks appear on coils -- bad design, the rubber boot could come all the way up and the problem wouldn't exist. - Rubbish fuel economy (apparently much better with the NEO) - Rust under the wing mirrors due to bad design - Can't see around corners easily with A pillar and windscreen design - Mirrors don't fold correctly and don't stay in place they float around, the ones on my ancient Legacy were perfect - Can't raise power windows after turning engine ignition off (Subaru and Mitsubishi gave you 15 seconds after car off) - Door internals/Window mechanisms are loose and rattle prone design... even after tightening it up - Overall interior is somewhat uncomfortable compared to Legacy - Air conditioning is weak and heat from turbo soaks into the interior on long drives - Aircon controls are annoying buttons instead of nice dials - Only sold in Japan, so the interior is made for "midgets" e.g. highest steering wheel position is still low - Small legroom, headroom, footroom, armroom... and kneeroom (leg touches the door rest at all times) - Really bad rear seat legroom for a 4 door wagon - Cupholders are low-quality, plastic-y and too small for a lot of drinks, the Legacy ones put them to shame - Pedals don't rest your feet comfortably on long drives (foot cramps) --Aftermarket parts problems-- - Auto-lights don't go off at night when turbo timer is active (without a turbo timer they go off when you open the door) - My Tein springs and Bilstein shocks make the car very bumpy for everyday use Other comments: Owning most any car for >1 year will show a lot of flaws plus owning other cars that didn't have those flaws. However, I love the power and performance of my RB motor, even if it's a bit rough around the edges and always costs money to upkeep... I can't bring myself to sell the Stagea and buy a cheap Toyota even though that would make so much sense financially and personally... I love having a big turbo six and all the electronic 4wd action...
  25. Arrgh one of the more annoying features... a beep INSIDE the car for idiots that don't know they are in reverse... There is actually a warning in the car's handbook (which I have a translated version of) that mentions this fact that it can only be heard inside the vehicle.. so funny, so useless. Some of the other illustrations in the handbook are very amusing.. Stagea Handbook but applies to Skyline as well. I will be clipping this wire methinks.. hope it's the same colour on Stagea.
