  1. The principle of paying to use a road that used to be used for free. But anyway, I did a bit of research. Day Pass - ~$10 (unlimited travel for 24h) There is a max rate of $5 (but thats only one way trip & account holders) so basically ignored... The other option is the Access account: $5.50 setup $1.20 per one way trip (number plate matching bs fee) $x normal gantry fees I will probably get this - saves paying $27.50 / year for the first three years (condition of buying an etag) since I'd never use citylink more than once a year or so. If I do, then I'll meet yous at MegaMart
  2. It's not the price of the e-tag.. its the PRINCIPLE!
  3. Inark, it was on an official WRX club dyno day and everyone else who had their cars dyno'd - majority WRX though, didn't seem to be concerned about the figures (people who have dyno'd else where too). So since it wasn't just me by myself there'd be no need for them to try and boost the readings. From what I've heard AVO is supposedly as accurate as Docklands STI's one too.
  4. If there is a few of us not wanting to take Citylink we could go in together... but re-joining Snowman (and citylink people) would be a bit hard unless there is another stop point, then that would mean they would have to wait. The easiest thing is (non-citylink people) probably leaving a bit earlier.
  5. I got 160.6rwkw from AVO with known mods pod, clutch.. though a/m boost guage was showing ~10psi top end but still using the factory solenoid so there might be more mods than that (as factory solenoid is supposedly to be 5->7) Exhaust looks stock as far as I can tell too. dyno graph
  6. Its almost 10 bucks for a whole day pass... not worth it since we're only going on one if not two gantries (one way) or you can get some other method where you pay normal gantry rates plus a $1.20 licence plate matching fee per gantry or something... All in all, I've never needed to have one and I don't want to have to get one for this And if you forget or whatever, then yeah its like a $100+ fine
  7. Anyone else in S/E that plan on going but don't have an E-tag? Snowman's route takes you on the Citylink and I refuse to get an e-tag based on principle Otherwise I might have to go solo until I get to one of the other meet points
  8. I should be able to come too! (From South-East) I may have a shot-gun seat also, but will confirm closer. Snowman- I may be able to lend you a friends Uniden... will have to confirm closer though.
  9. I picked up my K&N panel from Repco a few days ago for $120 - I just said I'm going to buy today, whats you're best price... *tap tap tap*.. $120 no arguments.. so I bought it.. This was directly after going to Autobarn who wanted $130-135 with the 15-20% off...
  10. Yeah, I wouldn't mind meeting some fellow Melb 'liners but not sure about Smorgys
  11. Mmm.. now I'm getting paranoid.. anyone care to PM moi?

  14. I never used to like skylines... I was so much a fan (and still am) of the MKIV Supra... I wanted to get a nice mkiv tt supra rz, but realised that I coudln't afford it without having to take a loan... but I still didn't like the skylines (cause they were the enemy heh) But then I actually got to test drive one, then another... then I bought one

  16. Why dont you people just wire up another siren? Get a piezo siren from dick smith or something; they're only about 10 bucks, but they're 100+DB.. Mount this somewhere hidden IN THE CABIN.. I can guarantee you that no1 can stand even a few seconds. These sirens are meant for house alarms - the sales person even tried to talk me out of buying it as he recons you'd get deaf... but if a thief wanted to break into the car and steal shit, then I don't care if they get deaf. If your alarm is triggered, you'll find that your normal siren (under the bonnet) will be louder outside the car, but stick your head inside the car and then you'll see what its like
  17. 46k? Boo I'm below average
  18. Mmm that looks a lot like Legend Park ??
  19. Sorry to drag up an old thread.. my mechanic recons I should put in a T piece (running aftermarket boost gauge which i disconected the stock one) to plug back in the MAP sensor (which drives the stock boost gauge) He recons there is a fault reported by the ECU... can anyone confirm/deny this?
  20. Okay, I should have been more clearer with my english you don't gain low down torque, but what I meant was the implied gaining of said torque that is lost when a airpod is used (due to the freer restriction on intake - not taking into account changes in intake temperatures) haha that paragraph is even more confusing.. basically you lose torque going to a pod... putting on a airbox you 'gain' that lost torque... IE airbox: more responsive, more low down torque but less flow/power at high revs airpod: less responsive, less low down torque but higher flow/power at high revs whether you want that power/torque down low or up high... (assuming that intake temperatures remain the same with airbox vs pod which in practice will not be the case)
  21. With the stock airbox you'll gain a bit more low down torque (easier around town) due to the restriction of the system. If you put in a shielded CAI (impt or your performance will probably be worse) pod, true you may gain some top end but at the expensive of low down... and I spend more time in the legal speeds than not
  22. You say 'vt/vx' and then you say 'new'??? then your price range will probably only get you a corolla or equiv for that price brand new (on the road)
  23. Whats the condition of the bleed valve? No faults etc? Any pics? And whats the price for postage down to Melb? thx
