Tiny Little Fuel Pressure Regulator Return Holes...
GTRPSI replied to The Mafia's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
A fuel pressure regulator does not work the way you played with it. Turn up the pump voltage and expect the pressure to rise, then readjust your regulator to bring it down to where you need it. It does not automatically self adjust itself at base pressure, put more pressure VIA the pump and you need to adjust the base back down again. Test it at all voltages again, while adjusting the reg, whats the min and max pressure it will hold? Pretty wide in all cases and within its working limits? -
Contact Danny over at Jak motorsworks Daz, we got ours through him new at a really good price. Edit, we got the whole assemblies (shocks and springs), im sure he could get just the springs if thats what you need.

They were sort of salvageable, if they were damaged a bit less. Top ring land is shot on the upper edge and some skirt tearing puts them into the bin...... I have however saved more damaged pistons in the past but it was a lot of hand work to salvage them, i personally wouldn't recommend it.

Loose Feeling Rear End In The Wet (fwd)
GTRPSI replied to PranK's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
New rear tyres and if that does not help soften the rear for more grip in the arse. -
So your oil temps were perfect, before the cooler was fitted. Put a sheet of cardboard over the cooler and see what your temps read. If back to normal id say the unit is open allowing full cooling. If the same low reading, wrong location.

Clutch Slipping In Heat
GTRPSI replied to Super Drager's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Sounds right, a exedy shouldn't slip that quickly unless it had a main seal leak, was not installed correctly or was abused with slip. We had a HD one in our GTR (didnt know was in there till i pulled the engine out), lots of 4wd launches and abuse, when we looked at it. it still had 80% material left on it, never slipped, felt like a stockey was in there. -
Rough Low Idle Only When Foot Is On Brake? Rb26
GTRPSI replied to nakameguro's topic in General Maintenance
Strangely if the master was leaking a little the RPMs should have gone up, not down......well it did when my clutch master was leaking from a broken diaphragm, you could hear a hiss when you pressed the pedal and RPMs went up. Then again if the rip in it is large enough, it would be like a AFM not connected and run rough. -
Brake Pads For V-spec Gtr R33
GTRPSI replied to CU's GTR's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Should have gone with the EBC Yellow stuff pads, rated to 900, good pedal feel and reasonable bite, great for street and track. I just happen to have another box of them sitting on my desk to go onto my FG XR6 Turbo ute as the last front set are down to 1mm, something to do this weekend (like i dont have enough on already) Im not a fan of too much bite, its a great way to upset the balance of the car on track, you want more bite, press harder....... -
Front Brake Disc Discolouration On The Inside
GTRPSI replied to V28VX37's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I think thats probably the most logical answer. Rules to cover arses......if unsure disallow it.....and call it a mod that needs engineering. -
Front Brake Disc Discolouration On The Inside
GTRPSI replied to V28VX37's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Maybe removing them if they were factory fitted? Lots of cars were produced without front sheilds, Ford EA, EB, EF, EL, AU, BA, BF FG...... -
Front Brake Disc Discolouration On The Inside
GTRPSI replied to V28VX37's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
You could be right. Notice the temp paint has lifted off that area? Probably cooked it good and turned the rotor blue on the inboard side. Edit, what colors are the 3 temperature markers going from left to right? If they are White Yellow White, you cooked that baby good, well over 650 degrees, id say the inner part of the rotor went over 900 degrees and glowed a nice cherry red color, hence the burned off paint. -

Gtr R34 Bouncing Losing Traction On Boost
GTRPSI replied to v-specjay's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
If its standard as you claim it shouldn't be doing that. But if its modded.....fully sik. On a serious note, my GTRs rear use to come out under power, she would crab walk, ended up being the subframe bushes were leaking and i put some alloy C rings in place to stop it, she went straight after that. -
This is why i avoid the Nitto pump. Tomie are externally adjustable and come with shims and instructions for adjusting. You can avoid the worry of having the engine in and not being happy with the set pressure, undo 1 cap and adjust where you want it, otherwise with other pumps its a engine out job (or put up with what you've got)

What's Needed For An R32 Front Diff Swap?
GTRPSI replied to GSX-R35's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Dont forget that most aftermarket diffs are a little larger in casing size and wont fit into the front diff case without some grinding in the right areas, best done when its all apart when its easier to get in there with a die grinder and to clean out all the alloy shavings. We went drag direction and installed a Cusco setup as a one way diff. -
What Is The Better Car? Evo 7 Or R32 Gtr? (poll)
GTRPSI replied to PranK's topic in General Automotive Discussion

Your Assistance Required - I Got Scammed Out Of $1500
GTRPSI replied to murrayis's topic in General Automotive Discussion
So to clear this up, you didnt actually buy it through a ebay listing by clicking buy it now, you found him through ebay and purchased it outside of their system? How did you pay for it, paypal or direct deposit? If paypal you still have them to support you. Did he send it registered (OK hes looking for the tracking or so he says) but did he send it insured? If so tell him to claim and pay you back. If you bought it outside of ebay and paid direct bank deposit, well its just like buying something from gumtree, you never buy anything from there unless you can go in person to pick it up. Your next port of call should be the police station.....and if i was you, id let him know about it..... -
If bought on ebay my advice is to test with a known working set of coils and if the issue goes away let him know, if he does not play ball, start a ebay/paypal dispute....when that fails go to consumer affairs. Once consumer affairs gets involved he will have a headache at hand, 9 out of 10 times they side with the consumer. I know because i had a customer buy a Exedy clutch kit, he dropped the clutch cover while fitting it onto the ground (bent corner of pressure plate cover with concrete dust still on it) and consumer affairs still said its my problem...eventually exedy agreed to take it back stating that from experience consumer affairs generally finds against the supplier and manufacturer regardless and its not worth their tech team and my time attending mediation meetings, and they already have washed into the price for these things to happen.

Most tuners ask for the car to be left overnight, they do the dyno tune on day one and the first thing they do on day 2 is the cold start, they then may go on to touch up the day 1 tune. Yes it does have coolant temperature correction......

R32 Gtr Long Term Love, Now Project
GTRPSI replied to r32-25t's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
Whats wrong, is it the thickness of the lower trigger wheel causing the issue? -
Make no difference if you have the knob or use a allen key, either way its going to click. If your going in a direction and its not clicking, you have gone too far, go the other way. A better way to work it out is to remove a shocker that clicks, remove the spring and compress the shocker on the ground a few times, feel the shockers resistance with the clicks all the way one way and then all the other way around. Then try the one that wont click in the same way, using what you learnt from the good shocker will indicate which way to turn the one that didn't click.
