  1. nice man.. as for brakes, try find some R34gtr brembos? or AP 6 pot fronts
  2. removing sound deadener does increase road noise/diff noise/gearbox noise etc. especially when you remove back seats. over all volume of sound deadener in my 32 was not much at all, can prob lose just as much weight by not having lunch lol.
  3. i reckon ill be hitting the track in the next couple of weeks with some mates, so if ya keen to come along let me know. will post a date when i know :-)

    Powercruise

    can i haz twoogle? lol
  5. www.cmitas.org has full years run down of their events too
  6. i was thinking it was his 31.. but then too many curves on chassis.. looks 4 door 34 ish?? judging by bonnet.. or maybe a 32....
  7. hey man, PM details on how to make an 'after event' donation
  8. was a good day yes, my engine didnt die so thats a start :-D
  9. dont think the people i know of reside in firthside anymore, as long as your off the street you should be ok, i think people target imports cause they are jealous and want one themselves. easier to replace a lock or window than a whole car i say.
  10. yeah, some of my family lives in firthside, always thought it was safe until i heard of certain 'people' occupying that area. i pretty much only park my 32 in 1 of 3 places.. ever.. luckily nothing major has ever been done to it (except one time an ex gf's ex bf's drug f**ked mate decided to go key happy on it and coat it in plaster of paris.. i mean wtf.. plaster of paris.. who carries that around.) would of loved to have kept my 31, loved that car , but was paranoid leaving it anywhere so sold it to fund my new engine build.. just jap sell removable hubs + locking plates as well , $200 well spent imho, and killswitches people.. hidden.. random place kill switches.. ive seen 4 awesome kill switch designs that i plan to implement with my car... i have 3 already
  11. haha yeah, saw ya :-D
  12. brake pads, brake fluid.. i would suggest making sure you are running a good set of pads with good brake fluid and even do a full flush before hitting the track. yeah, dont use hand brake when coming back and parking in pits, a good cool down lap helps, and also when you do park, roll your car back and forward after a few mins to stop heatsoak on the rotors.
  13. haha, yeah, live that way. umm.. stickers have been the same since 2 years ago lol, actually.. theres less on there now :-P.. when ive got the cash for a respray its getting completely de stickered and going a vinyl
  14. my105 usually has a lot of good priced tarmac rally cars available eg:evo's wrx's, there was a targa spec 32 for sale recently too which looked tuff
  15. count me in!
  16. I got my 2 extinguishers from Autocraft as a good mate of mine works there (Jamie with the black GTR that does hillclimbs)
  17. all good, ill prob hit up the track on a weekend if anything as im busy with work too lol. properly mounted fire extinguisher is a good solid mount. my one used to be mounted on a plate in front of the passenger seats off the bolt holes :-) private track days you dont need one, but Hillclimbs and events you do. private track days are great, just go out there and drive at your own pace! me and mate helped this other guy improve his lines by him following us around for some casual laps then we followed him, recorded it too so he could look over the footage :-)
  18. id recommend doing a track day first (i plan to do one in the next few weeks i reckon) get to know your car under faster conditions (not just street driving or 'spirited' driving) Collinsvale was my first hillclimb, its a daunting run with the steep bank on the right hand side so you'd want to make sure your comfortable in your car at speed, through fast left rights with a big bank to your side (saw a supra go down there 2 years ago)

    Lf Rb20 Engine

Am just wondering if anyone knows of any good condition low km silvertop RB20 engines around? with/without gearbox, or possibly an RB25 setup, have money here just need to find something! wet/dry Compression tests would be ideal if possible Am really only after main block so dont really need intake plenums, exhaust manifolds, coils, alternator, psteering stuff etc.. unless someone has a good all in one package to offer :-) PM me with details if people want to :-) am located in Hobart but will travel. cheers Funz
  20. hey man, feel free to PM me, i do all the hillclimbs and quite a few track days down here in the south :-) Things I'd like to know are: - Are there any track events coming up this year which would suit a first time, and where the hell do you find this information? (I'm in the south, but am willing to travel if need be) www.cmitas.org has all hillclimb listings :-) next one is march 20th at collinsvale. - What sort of preparation would I need to do? Car needs to pass scrutineering basically, no major leaks, seat belts, brakes and all safety stuff works. My car (R33 gtst) is pretty much stock and I'm planning on keeping it like that for the moment, but things like bleeding the brakes, changing the oil, perhaps installing a few braces, tyres etc. - Is there anything I need that I might be missing? (i.e. helmet, racing suit, fire extinguisher, driving skill) aus approved helmet, properly mounted extinguisher, long sleeved clothing. Would recommend keeping brake fluid constantly fresh (especially doing track days) and same with changing oil. - Will I need to buy a cams licence or similar for the day, if so is it best to buy on the day? yes you need a cams 2S license, so you need to sign up with someone like HSCC (hobart sporting car club - approx $60 a year) then apply for CAMS 2S ($95 a year i think) this allows you to enter any hillclimb and also track days at a lower cost ($70 compared to like $120 approx per outing) Hillclimbs are generally $100-110 entry. drop me a line, im regularly heading out there with several mates for track days and hillclimbs, and everyone ive met at these events has been awesome.
  21. hehe was waiting for it lol
  22. only 350z owners i know are located in hobart. mate has a silver one with c/f bonnet and gunmetal advan rims. theres also a blue one thats supercharged that gets around but dont know the owner, only seen it at track days
  23. tried contacting him through purtell at SPG?
  24. all replacement parts at workshop now, so only gotta put it back together now and hope she ticks over with no engine damage after its 'incident'
