check out the 'installing speakers into skyline doors tutorial' at the top of the car audio and security page. Its pretty much what i did except i made the mdf spacers longer (exactly the same shape as the factory ones) so i could put the plastic plate on (as this is what blocks off the trays in the door trim). Hope that made sense

i'm half way through sound deadening my doors at the moment. I'll let you know if i hear any difference (besides them sounding like a merc when i shut the door).
