  4. the fellow was telling me how the rb balancers are steel and this was a 'no no' not sure bout the scatter shield
  5. s15s are wicked...but they make it into the 11s not 12.0@245rwkw cough cough 330rwkw + nos :headspin:
  6. was looking into some balancers and this was mention to me WE NOW HAVE A BONDED BILLET STEEL BALANCER THAT IS A WILD CARD. FOR THE RACER WHO NEEDS A BALANCER FOR HIS TRANSPLANT AND WHO CAN LIVE WITHOUT POWER STEER AND A/C. THE BALANCER COMES WITH A SAFETY SHIELD THAT BOLTS ON THE FRONT. THIS SHIELD IS MANDATORY FOR CARS THAT ARE DOING THE ¼ MILE IN 12 SECS OR LESS. IT PREVENTS THE OUTER FROM LEAVING THE ENGINE IN CASE OF A RUBBER FAILURE. there are lots of cars that have ran 12s and i dont think its an issue....what if you runs 11s and 10s does the scrutineering get tougher?
  7. i think u need to post a price before they harass ya :headspin: :headspin: :headspin: but u have my offer through pm
  8. as title suggest...preferably in syd
  9. something about a gap that is left over because one is solid and one is hydraulic due to the solid lifter.....it equated to about 12mm which he said shims dont exist in this size. And the rb26 head is machined to compensate for the gap but the rb25 head is not... He was keen on this particular conversion and he said if it could be done it would be an excellent cheap conversion. hope u can puzzle it together otherwise i can ask him again
  10. ive got a set mate if interested of rb26 camshatfs
  11. i tried and it failed....after giving it a big rev no matter what comp...mind u 3 different sorts were used and 2 different tuners...could not get it to idle after a big rev!!!!! then SK mention the whole rb26 vavle train would fit into a rb25 head (solid lifter conversion) because his done it himself......once again the buck stopped when the head specialist said no can do....... i had alot of faith in SK but after alot of $$$ was spent i dont know whether the exercise is worth pursuing

  17. A 25 head has hydraulic lifters...26 solid... fair enough the ports may be the same size and if ur revving to 7,000rpm they may be comparable.... what if ur revving to 8500rpm...the rb25 head i dont think will be as efficient as a 26.... cost benefit analysis.....if ur motor is apart, ur a bit lost if u bought a greddy manifold for $1000 and put it on ur rb25 then some decent cams for $1000 when a 26 head is $1500....its got the manifold, bigger cams, solid valve train (which u can pay tomei $1500 for to do the conversion to a rb25) i would personally put the 26 head on if uve got the opportunity...... in regards to combustion chambers being different i not sure about that... maybe some1 can fill us in with some more information to whether it is possible and what to do....unfortunatly we do not all live in perth and have ur workshop at our disposable...so instead of bagging out the potential modification maybe input into it.... i believe the exhuast valves on a rb26 is larger warpspeed and i do agree with ur vvt theory....how many ppl really care how much power they have before the vvt switches off?? lets say approx 4,500pm....a 10-20 rwkw difference at this rev does nothing for me? then again its an adrenalin rush for others :headspin: :headspin: :headspin:
