we will be stocking the new greddy cheap fmics when stocks of the mspecs wind up . there really is no difference in quality , there still made in the same china factory , although quality if very good for china. the catco metal cat is a bit expensive for the minimal gains you get with your proposed setup . my 33 4 door had a full xforce setup , including their cheap hiflow cats and the car made an extra 15hp with the whole exhaust removed . thats really not that bad for a cheap exhaust to only drop 15hp. remember you have to run some sort of exhaust , so what do you stand to gain from a better expensive exhaust system, 7-10 hp maybe ? you could spend the extra 1k your going to pay in much better places that was with a hks gtrs pulling 330rwhp , perhaps with a massive turbo things would have been more restrictive but thats the same sort of setup your aiming for anyway

New Skyline Plug In Ecu - Finally A Power Fc Replacement
autoworx replied to autoworx's topic in Western Australia
you need a solenoid to interface with to do boost control , most skylines have a stock one but this gtr didnt so the bleed valve was a bit all over the place i thought the power curve was remarkably flat though considering how erratic the bleeder was , but lumpy always seems to give a nice smooth tune glad your happy gary ! i sold my last one today but stock should be in later this week -
the wire in v88 could be run with the stock ecu controlling auto options

our rebuild did include labour for engine removal/re-install I could not give you a specific figure of labour though
-
we got a very similar rebuild for around 8k on one of our r32 gtrs , a little more with some extras like pumps and recon injectors , afms etc. Give me a call and I can talk to the engine builder , he is very busy so it won't be quick if he does take it on but his work was great and we are very happy with the engine so far if you do go cut , kyp are great

Do R34 Gtt Coilovers Suit R33 Gtst?
autoworx replied to Mid_Nite_R33's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
34 gtt will not fit into 33 gtst 34 gtt , 33 gtr and 34 gtr will fit each other , gtr suspension will be low in the gtt and vice versa -
according to my disto features on plug in are as per v44 so antilag is option launch control is std

Compliancing Question
autoworx replied to UnCo's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
it has to be a stock exhaust although technically wrong , check if a gtt exhaust will fit ans use that . no one will know ;-) -

stocking the rb plug in at this stage , can order in the v88 if needed. -
lso neither the documentation nor the website says if you can use the launch control with the V66. - need to confirm Does the Anti lag come included as standard? - need to confirm Can it do boost control (if it does is it supplied with the solenoid?) - yes , can use stock solenoid . none supplied Is it supplied with the intake air temp sensor? (basically what is the unit supplied with?) - yes , our ones so far have had air temp supplied

v88 would provide ignition driver for each cylinder in practice its not going to be a big issue , you may have slightly more wear in spark plugs as they fire more often . its possible on some mega hp application you may not have enough dwell (recharge) time to get enough electricity to the coil. I doubt this as many mega hp aftermarket ignition systems are wasted spark. also a tuner once tried to explain to me that the load on the coil that is firing with nothing to ignite is much smaller , so that would explain the lack of dwell time not being an issue . but I could not really understand why load would be less.

- Are targa tops available in RZ form? If so how available are they? they are avaliable in NA man and auto and TT auto only . Also TT auto targa stops very early , 94 i think from memory. - What are some common problems with targa tops? Rust? leaks? rust , leaks , rattles . not worth the hassle especially as you have to manually remove the top - What are the differences between SZ and SZ-R? sz-r has 6 speed gearbox - What sort of power does a stock SZ put out? approx 150kw ish , they are slower than the sound though - What sort of power does a stock RZ put out? 208 officially - Do SZ's come in 1JZ or 2JZ form? all jza80 supras use 2jz - What are some common problems with these motors? head gaskets , sensor problems as they get old , coil packs in turbos and distributors in n/as , internally very strong - What are some common problems with supra's in general? driveline? Gearbox? Internals (pfft...yeah right)? Anything? minor electrical and suspension problems , rust . engine and drive train is very strong if looked after properly.

V35 - Import Or Buy Local?
autoworx replied to Mrman's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
v35s have dropped dramatically in recent times for an grade 4b-4.5a 03 auto 2 door 350gt with 50-80000km you can be looking as low at 11-12,000$ in japan . A rough figure landed and complied would be around 20-22. Manuals and 04/05s are more , brembo's add a more also. these prices are very cheap at the moment and could return to normal at any time. -

there are plenty of ecus on the market which this one compares too you will have to evaluate each one on its pros and cons . Certainly this product is feature packed and priced excellently and we think support and reliability will be 1st class -
