Have you considered looking for a complete rear subframe assembly? I was faced with the same problem, and for me it was cheaper (by $2500) to purchase a secondhand, 33,000km rearend and drop it in. Sure it's not as good as the fix, but it's cheap. I was told it would be better to purchase a BRAND NEW rear K-frame from Japan and fit it as it was only marginally more expensive than replacing the bushes in mine - it's apparently 3 times the labour costs as 2 guys need to hold the frame whilst one operates the press.

niose come from the suspension unit? asking help!!!
NRB replied to Aya's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Mine started on the left, then moved to the right. Now I get it from both. Interestingly, it's less frequent when I have a passenger in the car  -
For a short while, yes.

Thanks once again for a great day guys, I thoroughly enjoyed myself yet again. Had an absolute ball sitting behind Adz in the stretch before Marysville and even smiled for the camera when it came out the passenger window. Looks like she caught a fair action shot there! Although we thought we'd made an incorrect turn onto the gravel road, it would seem (looking at the photos) that the head of the pack not far up the road jumped to the same conclusion we did! Ferni reassured us with his GPS but Ash was as confused as us Anyway, I'm looking forward to further outings as I've enjoyed every single one so far.

Does it sound like metal on metal? I've got a similar noise coming from the frontend if it is. I've had so many people look over it it's not funny. Given the age of the car, it's likely the front subframe bushes are worn out (my rears were like mush) so my mate and I are planning on checking them out. To create the noise in my car I simply have to raise it on a hoist, lower it back down and then lean on the front. It creates an almighty "crack". I've noticed it when the front suspension is unloaded more than loaded too. When my car came from Japan it had a ridiculously low ride height, no suspension travel in the Bilstein shocks and was resting on the pitiful excuses for bump-stops. I've since had it raised about 40mm, the Bilsteins rebuilt and swaybars added. It handles beautifully, but damn the noise is embarrassing! To put it mildly, it's been pi5sing me off for over a year. If we come up with something, I'll let you know. I hope you'll do the same! -
Braided Brake lines
NRB replied to Mr R32 M-Spec's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I've been considering the Maltech lines since I saw them at the the Drift Nationals at Calder. How much would it cost to have them fitted? I'm sick of the spongy feel of my 11 year old factory lines... -

What sort of noise? -
Speak to Dean at UPI, he's got a lot of exhausts sitting out the back that might have a stock cat.

I think I might tag along for this one - haven't been on a cruise since the Daylesford/Spa country outing.

You talking about me or someone else? I'm a moderator with MCCR, but this got way out of hand before I even saw it. Please don't classify me as one of the MCCR dickheads - I've been a member of the club since before it became huge, and simply use the forums and lesser populated "cruises". I can't see myself attending any "open" cruises, and haven't for years...

That's correct. The stock GTR front bar does have air ducts which direct some cool air to the box, but it doesn't fit your classic "cold air intake" definition. Some ducting could help a lot though. Think of it as an under bonnet pod setup. Mine has 2 filters in it - one on the front and one on top.

I've got one on my GTR, but I've got nothing to compare it to.

Another e-mail to eBay... -
Troy, is that intake temp post-turbo and intercooler, or is that the temp at the air filter? I've never seen intake temps that low post-turbo!

I think that might have something to do with this: ----- Hello Nick, Thank you for your report. We have reviewed the user ID you have brought to our attention and taken the appropriate action. I received a generic reply from eBay as soon as I posted to them. 1 hour later I had a personal reply from a staff member. They're looking into it. The more people who complain/notify them and the more information provided, the safer it will be for all of us genuine eBayers. -

Funny how at Car Domain (here) there's the EXACT same photos. The location of this car is in America... Perhaps an e-mail to eBay might be in order. -
Has anyone e-mailed HPI about the incorrect information?

Why Install Sump Baffle In Rb26 When It Already Has One?
NRB replied to Scooby's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
No problem Andrew. Ben recommended 10W60 just like you're using. I like Castrol Formula R syth myself... pity it doesn't smell like the old Historic Formula R mineral oil I run in the Mini; beautiful smell. -
Why Install Sump Baffle In Rb26 When It Already Has One?
NRB replied to Scooby's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Sorry Merli, I thought I did... Ben told me that there's quite a few guys running very fast times with standard sumps that haven't run into problems. He also said to me that a lot of blokes were running oil with too low a viscosity - oils with the viscosity of water being a big problem causing the spun bearings... Ben didn't say it was overkill to replace the sump etc, all I stated was that he said a lot of failures were due to poor oil choice. Again sorry about any confusion. -
Again Ferni, did you ask for SAU/MCCR discount? I know it's $220 'cos I had mine done in F1 at that price about 15 months ago. Top blokes, but I think Brett is on holidays until August sometime. Perhaps call again after that?
