  1. Berry's time was despite some issues with fuel and various. I saw all his runs - just f'kn awsome. Makes my own effort (R32 GTR 2:41.4734 - only 0:27.7654 off the pace) seem a bit average. However I went in wanting to better 2:50 so I was happy. The car ran well with the only dramas being heat today (oil temp, and air temps) and a failing power steering pump. I had to do qualifying yesterday WITHOUT power steering - I did 5 laps and managed a 2:47. I was pretty rooted afterwards - could not imagine lasting much longer. I went to the 2 day Drive Bathurst event last year (familiarisation; unlimited speed runs, NO timing) and did the Sprint this year. All in all a top event and I reckon I'll be back next year (with better oil cooling, 4WD controller, lose some weight {me and the car}, ........). I've got 2:30 something firmly in the sights!

  4. big congrats to Mark Berry and his R32 see http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/results..../2008.MOUN.S4.Y Up against some serious hardware and steerers and some challenging weather. well done!!
  5. Fabcar Racing R35GTR for sale: http://www.my105.com.au/classified.asp?id=10328 $235,000.00 Or Best Offer AUD.............
  6. Fitted these to my R32 GTR (front only) earlier this year. I went for the 330mm rotors but in retrospect I sorta wish I'd gone for the 356mm. No problems with the calipers but supplied pads were crap (lasted one outing to Wakefield). Since switched to carbon ceramic pads recommended by Specialised Brake & Clutch Services (Penrith). These are much better wearing but (probably) at the expense of rotor life as I've spotted some small cracks after a further 2 track days. The guy at SBCS was a bit ambivalent towards them - he reckons he'd seen some "bend" (splay open) after hard use resulting in uneven pad-wear. And also reckoned the piston diameter was relatively small. Then again, he's selling AP racing gear. For the mony I reckon they're OK.
  7. Saw the pink Donut King Skylines at Oran Park today - R32 and R35!!! Hand timed the R35 at 1:20 (GP) but there was a bit of traffic and I gather they were trying out their Targa set-ups. Looks pretty mega in the flesh. I WANT ONE!!!

  10. sorry - not specifically. I spoke to one of the group who mentioned 1:15 but not sure which car he was referring to.

  12. Another GTR (R32 Maroon) - sorry I forget the guy's name. He was there with some others who had an S15 and Golf GTI between them - looked like the Nissan guys were really enjoying coming out of Turn 10!

Should be back in about 4 weeks for another go - hopefully a bit drier......
