if 76mm is the exducer size on that turbine, whats the inducer ? lol at paddle steamer wheel.. cheers darren
-
sounds like you car was restricted by turbine/exhaust flow and the camshaft had to much duration and coudn't rev to where it was designed to as it was choked by turbine backpressure, so you effictively shortened your powerband Correct camshaft had less duration, so spooled faster, opened up powerband and nosed over at same rpm as it reached it proper rev range cheers darren

if you drag race..its a f**king nightmare trying to do that..its not consistent at all ...plus it makes no boost that way...so its harder to pull the car out of the hole and it bogs more.. cheers darren

2 step/launch controller does the job on most setups...

the 76mm turbine, is that the one you where using in 21U hi flows or something ?, not op6/.82 hi flow? did you fit that to my ss3 thing you did for me? cheers darren

jet_r31 replied to Hanso's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers

Its better in a petrol motor built for power to have a hotside that outflows the coldside period really. Motor is much happier/safer and runs cooler that way. with advances in comp wheel design now it makes it a bit better to achieve without as many flaws as befores aswell a lot definitly rides on the hotside as in most modern motors it really is the biggest restriction in the end cheers darren

more like 40-50psi +..1000Hp+, most people setups don't even need half of the e85s octane atm cheers darren

yep considering we just pulled it apart, put a bigger fuel pump in it, bigger turbo, different wmi setup and never got to tune it again...ffs no more wasting time on family cars for me anymore..

How To Spot A Fake Bosch 044

Good to see the MTA 900 result, not many out there, i wanted to try one on a mates car, as it was a cheap upgrade, but my mate went with a 6466 instead cheers darren

I think to sell to vl owners, you really need to sell it with a standard R33/r34 comp housing so it looks standard nissan , as i can tell you thats what vl owners want as a hi-flow.....especially in states with the EPA. Have you checked the actuator clearance to chassis rail yet? As soon as you use a .70 T04s comp cover you might as well go straight to a 3540/G4 .82 turbo as even they spool from the basement on a sohc rb30 with a auto and 2800/3000 converter those two setups there are the standard vl thing. cheers darren

woudnt even work with e85....... cheers darren

well the choice is easy...your only choosing from 2 you can't run a66- 67mm T04rcomp wheel with that turbine, unless you like lots of lag, not much power, peaky all or nothing delivery and get flogged by everything you need at least a 65mm turbine to drive that comp wheel.. history has proved it over and over again..vl rb30 owners where doing stupid shit like this 15yrs ago.. cheers darren

Will 272/272 Cams Idle Different To 272/264
jet_r31 replied to GD51LA's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
the camshaft plays a role in allowing 10,000rpm..but so does the back end of a turbo..272 won't make power to 10..i doubt your turbo will either before it chokes on its own backpressure. Ive never built anything like that and never will, but id be thinking 290+duration and GT47 T6 frame turbine would be in some form of ballpark To the thread starter., ill try again..so these cams are reverse staggered..ie 272 inlet 264 exhaust.... YOUR NOT WORRIED ABOUT THE REVERSE STAGGERING?,., not at all?, just the idle cheers darren
