R32 Gtr Auto Conversion
jet_r31 replied to JosephFoley440's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Stagea auto would struggle bigtime.. The 300zx auto with a adapter is the go for a 4 speed auto..or th400 speed or 2 speed glide. Cheers Darren -
No point a small wmi jet works much better.. and i bet anything you would like ..using a china core with wi is better than a expensive core heatsoak wise aswell. Was cheap aswell when dollar was good cheers darren

You tried this bar and plates style Tao, this is the 600x300x100 china cooler you usually see on big power cars....the internal passage fins are all straight aswell, like your pwr not all bent up like the ones you posted pics off which are absolutely shithouse. Be good to see if they are any better. Used on so many 10, 9, 8 sec rb30s. cheers darren

The Great R33 Intercooler Dilemma
jet_r31 replied to Pr0x1mity's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Surely turbo choice has a lot to do with it. If you use a turbo that likes high pressure ratios surely its not going to be effected nearly as much by the pressure drop. the return flow deal is a 2 prong sword though. You lose power from heatsoak, so you have to pull timing etc, but you also lose power from pressure drop(which is also obviously causing heat in its self.) We run 30psi with a 3076 .63 and a cooling pro return flow..it tapers to 25psi by mid 6000's rpm ...id like to see the boost pressure before the cooler..lol. ..have to check it one day but we have no heatsoak issues because we run water injection ontop of e85 Just e85 and its still shit and suffers from heatsoak on kill..with water its the most consistent car ever, even after hrs and hrs on a dyno.. cheers darren -
The Great R33 Intercooler Dilemma
jet_r31 replied to Pr0x1mity's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I did notice on Staos pictures for his 600x300x100 etc..that the fins inside the tank looked f**king shit and bent and not made well causing a restriction But on the china 100mm i have here and and half the worlds 10/9 sec and 8 sec vl turbos..the fins looked well made and straight not causing a bad flow path cheers darren -

jet_r31 replied to GD51LA's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Out of interest to,the other day when i was talking to a guy up the pointy end of the rb field. He was saying with manuals (2wd/slicks)they soon learned not to declutch the car and rev it and re clutch it... if it bogged in the 60ft as it cracked the blocks... -

But i think your missing the point still.. Rb30s are good enough for 99 percent of us.. Rds are a deal only needed when you are pushing the envelope.. -

Lol 200..i really take photos of split blocks when i see them..its exciting stuff. Apart from that if you name names with big workshops it starts a shitfight, that im not getting involved with.. Its a fact..rb30s split bores..always have..always will.my eyes have seen them Some have more luck than others Cheers Darren -

What exhaust manifold?, if a stocker vl turbo one, take it of the top of manifold... cheers darren
-
Very good ! You will also need a small/medium camshaft (220-230 @.50 duration, upper 400 thou lift, 115-117 lsa ) depending on car use and trans and a set of valve springs on a on a sohc rb30 to make power with that turbo.. cheers darren
-
If you using a 0p6/vl turbo/ 300zx etc etc .63 rear, id be getting a atr45 SAT for a Rb30..as the .63s with 3582/atr45 rear turbine wheels choke the f**k out of them..to much backpressure Rb30 sohc motors like .82 housings with those atr45/3582 turbines.. cheers darren
-
Do you have a timeline when you are going to trial the ATR45 SAT SS series version on the Rb25Neo? cheers darren
-
That result isnt a 21u housing... its a Auto C34 Rb25 Neo RWD. Its a 0p6 housing. But it still is a GREAT result...as the car has a stock plastic turbo intake pipe haha .... , a stock op6 turbo actuator.. and a just jap return flow cooler....and a bleed tap.. if it was manual.. it would be 280rwkw on 17psi.. cheers darren
