  1. you will find that the car is faster acceleration through the gears in auto than it is with triptronic proved that on the quater. At flat to the floor it took to long to change gears in trip tronic.
  2. got the info from chuckie last night been a bit out of touch with the forum lately but going to be there. Hey chuckie how much fuel did you use last night I went through 1/4 a tank. Glad I don't drive my girl every day.
  3. My M35 on the quarter 15.4 was the best I managed. I'm damn sure the car will do a 14.9 with more practise. It is a heavy car at 1720kg kerb weight. Mods to the engine are 3" from turbo back large front mount and pod air which makes allot of induction noise so something to think about iff you don't like that kind of thing before getting one. Myself I like it. 146km/h at the 400m All on stock boost which I think is around 6 or 7 pounds not yet measured.
  4. Merry christmas happy new year stay safe and don't hurt any stagea's. If you have to crash something do it in a commador or a ford, toyota, mitsu, scubydoo.etc etc
  5. Mine arived on the 24/12/07 A little late for the drags but I have it now. Not sure how to fit it up to nm35. Might make a mess of it so will wait and take it in to someone who knows a lot more than I.
  6. Well didn't beat him. Once I had worked out how better to get off the line things went a little better for me. But on standard boost the stag was a bit difficult to get it off the line quickly. If I could get it to staging first get time to build boost it would do a 15 flat or even go high 14's with a more experienced driver. Pete and myself were neck and neck till the stag changed to 3, wear Pete would surge a little in front. Interesting fact though Pete was always just that little bit quicker going through all the markers except the last one. Top speed at the end 146km/h for the stag and same for the comm, go figure?Best time stag 15.4 best time comm 14.8.The larger wheels should have made no difference as they have very close to the same rolling diameter to standard. Standard is 18" 225/55 Whats on there is 20" 225/35. Only a poofteenth in it and not worth mentioning. I tried many ways of getting up the track quickly. Doing a manual shift auto shift short shift and just reving the shit out of it before changing. The best way for me was to not quite hit the floor with the gas pedal and let it do its own thing in the gear changing department. As I said before being my first time to drive a car down the strip. I recon a better driver would get a 15 flat easily and possibly sneak it into the high 14's.But in my humble opinion "I NEED MORE BOOST"I will take it back to the track I hope before the track closes for winter, if I can manage to get some tuning done. Maybe bigger turbo injectors piggyback and better get some info on the box, see what can be done there to make it handle a few extra ponies. When the car is finished ( in the next 15 years or so LOL ) I would like 300 - 350kw at the wheels.I know I need to talk to lots of professionals get lots of opinions to achieve the best way of doing this. But not in a hurry, plenty of time to do it.That and a shot of Nos it might take a couple of seconds off that time.
  7. I'm looking for a bloody good panel and paint guy/girl to tidy up my stagea. Could I get some recomendations for Perth WA. Don't care if north or south. Thanks Karl
  8. why would you ever want a honda??????
  9. Thanks for the info I reccon the turbo will be the next thing to be played with. Just as soon as I get some more coin in the pocket. Have been told that the week link is the gear box if you want big power. Starts to run hot. Been playing with launches. Tried putting it in neutral reving it to 2500 - 3000 droping it in gear and plying the power. BIG BANG and off it went. Probably not a good idea to do that again LOL. Next was a lot of break reving it to 2500 releas and go. Lot better but still not that great. Problem is the car does just not like to launch from a stand. Bugger it we will just see what happens very interested to see how it goes myself.
  10. saw the weather report and Wednesday was the only day with a smiley sunny face. So in keeping with tradition and the weather ( person ) always being well off the mark. Your probably right. But frick it I'm going anyway.
  11. Wednesday is looming people. Have not heard of many stagea's coming on down just John. So come on people lets show what a real waggon can do. Even standard they still "ROCK" See you all at the start line
  12. I have not had any troubles with mine at all so far ( touch wood ). Exept with the but munching but plug of an importer. I do have a heap of suspention bits from when I had the coil-overs installed. Not sure whats there yet have not stuck my nose in the box. But if I have something that can help out in that lill box of wonders, will be more than willing to send it to you for the cost of postage. I will not need them again. Once you install coil-overs you will never go back. The ride is sooooo much better.
  13. Thanks very much. Finding the right wheels for the car was an exersize. When you do find them you just know it. The 20's are a perfect fit would of liked a little more width though. But I'm just being picky. Looking forward to this wednesday to see what it can do down the quater. Maybe high 14's ( just guessing ) have no idea really. Its still a bit laggy off the mark. Have a boost controler on its way but don't think it will get here in time. Be able to compare for the next time.
  14. The NM35 have a front mount as standard. Not a very big one half the size of what is there now. I have noticed alot less lag than previous with the standard set up. Very easy to mount the new intercooler all the piping is already in the right place so very simple mod. It feels like it wants more though in the boost department. Where do I find a manual boost controler in Perth quickly. Time to Google. Hate to start cheeting against my friend but with 2.5L against 5.7L I need every bit of advantage I can. Do not want to see him win I will never here the end of it LOL. But then on the other side if I do win oll Pete will never live it down. Thanks for the tips.
  15. Forgot to mention the large greedy front mount. Don't know if that will make the difference. Either way I can see a few engine mods going in not to long after this. Need to convince the wife that its something I need not want LOL. Thats going to be the hardest part
  16. He may win he may not I'm hoping for the latter. Be a shiite load of fun which ever comes first. 5.7L V8 against a 2.5L turbo V6. Both close to the same wieght. I'll Just have to lose a bit of wieght off my own ass between now and then. See iff that makes a difference. Hope to see a few more Stag's down there on the 19th.
  17. A mate of mine who has a 2004 SS waggon and myself will be having a Waggon Off at Quit Motorplex on the 19th Dec. Had a bit of a chat with John and Chuckie at the Cruise last night and I would like to extend the invitation to all other WA Stagea owners. Everyone is wellcome but might be a bit far to come from East and North etc. Will be seeing what the MN35 can do down the quater. The only engine mods to my car are 3" exhaust from turbo back and pod air filter. Have no Idea what it will do, just want to "SMOKE" Pete in his Crapadoor SS .
