hey hey hey come on now. I never crashed the last one lol and no Helens dad reversed out of her garage into my car. just dented up the front passenger side fender but went out and got another one so its all good again

Well i got my car sorted out. After picking up the second hand fender from the wreckers i had to decide where to get it fitted and painted. One of the guys here at work mentioned that there is a panel and paint shop just round the corner from our office. I took the car down on Thursday last week and he managed to fit my car in on Monday morning and i was driving it home looking like nothing had ever happened by Tuesday arvo. They also got the dirty yellow egg stain off of the back of the car for me that i have tried everything to get off myself. To remove the old fender, clean up the new one fit it and spray it plus fixing the stain on the back of the car only took them two days and cost me $450. not bad if you ask me i think it would have cost a bit more if i had not been sent to him by one of his friends but still good. though i am not sure what it would have come two if i wanted a receipt or did not have the cash .

Ok I got the panel. Not really in the best condition, a few nasty scuff marks on it and a little dent but oh well not a lot I can really do about that. It is getting painted anyway so they can fix that up. It is better than the one that is on it at the moment. On the upside it still had the indicator in it so I don’t need to do looking around for another one of those providing it works. I know people have covered it on here before but could anyone point me in the direction of a good repairer, preferably in Osborne Park Rockingham? I work long days so need somewhere close to home or work. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I should be getting that panel delivered to me at work some time today. just need to work out where i am going to take the car to have it painted and fitted. I now need a new side indicator as well because it has fallen off at some point when i was driving

lol nah i dont think so. I dont really want to be spending too much time or money on the car. I just like the fact that it is a nice looking, easy to drive comfortable and fun car to drive. I have decided unless i have somethin special like a GTR i am not going to blow any money on it especcialy seeing as i have none lol.
-
nah were not interested in going through the insurance. He is fine to just pay for it. I think i must have called almost every wrecker in perth today and only found one with the panel (in silver though, so would deff need to be painted). they said it will cost $400+ a bit of a bloody rip off for a second hand panel if you ask me. lol how much would a set of gtr ones cost just out of interest?
-
lol i have no ided why i wrote wing lastnight, yeah panel. sorry guys.

just took a couple of pictures.

Hi guys. My girlfriend's dad just reversed out of the garage and into my front left wing (white R34 GTT). It is not bad just need a new wing. Can any one point me in the right direction? im guessing wreckers? he is not worried about the cost and told me to get a new panel rather than getting a panel beater try to fix it. what do you think would be the best thing to do? get a brand new panel or get one from a wreckers?

this really helped me out!! I just thought i would add that to get the gear surround out it actually a little lever point for you to put a screwdriver by the handbreak at the back. i was having trouble working out how to get it off untill i spotted that.

Was the guy that you had an Italian looking guy. Slightly short and chubby? that’s the guy i had when i first took my car over, he was picking on stupid little things and he was trying to tell me that he could have my car destroyed if he wanted to which is total crap! Little Hitler. he gets a tiny bit of power and it goes to his head. Any way i took it back to o’connor again and got tall old bold guy and he was very polite and friendly. it went over fine. took all or 10 seconds of the him to check the car was ok and didn’t even bother to check a few things on my list. He was talking to me about how he liked skylines, the new 35GTR and about ripping skids in his wife’s V8 lol i don’t think it makes a difference where you go so much as who you get when you go. Oh and if anyone is having to go over the pits and has a fairly low car i recommend you get in the line for the pit closest to the entrance gate because the edges of the pit are a little lower on that one. All the others have a small drop off in the concrete where as this one does not. My car has just less than 100mm clearance and i was worried about it but went over that one fine. Also don’t go over with too much fuel in the tank because that will drop you down a fair bit.
-
ah ok yeah i just had a little look into it and i take it back. should easily run 10 psi. looks like 12 psi would most likely be ok providing you are not giving it constant abbuse.
-
is pumping the stock turbo up to 10psi a bit or a risk? as far as i am aware, 10psi is the absolute max you can push the turbo to (correct me if I am wrong) and i would not want to be driving with a turbo that is stretched to its limits.

I have seen a car looking exactly like this in rockingham quite a fiew times, once or twice at the foreshore and a couple of times at cooloongup.
-
i did this last night once i got home from work. I only had a very short drive from the girlfriends and back. The car did not really have a chance to warm up so i didnt really want to give it too much stick. . It did seem to pull much better in first and second, so for a free mod id say it is well wort it, my last car had a manual boost controler which i forgot about which would explain why this new one has felt slower a bit slowe but i think it is going to feel much better now.
-
Thanks guys. yeah will be easy as then. i was not going to do this at first, was not sure if i would really feel any difference but if you guys say it works well then why not, seeing as its free and easy.

i thought i would have to take the bolt out. i wanted to earth the wire underneath the strut bar because i think it will look shit and stand out if the wire is attached to the top of it?
-
thanks m8. i may do it this weekend. it could be a pain though because the car is lowered i dont think i can get to the underside of the strut bolt without jacking the car up.
-
how do you go about this, the wire will not reach from what i can tell. do you just join a piece to it for the extra length? how easy is it to get that bolt off and back on on the strut bar?
-
hey mate. maybe you should give out your mobile number so people can get hold of you if they see the car?
-
Nah sunday 14th not the SAUWA one. my parents got me it for my birthday. was ment to do it on the 16th of this month but coil packs went on me so had to move it to next month.
-
you doing it on the 14th of December? im booked in to do it then.
-
it does work at low speeds because if i slow down for a turn and then gun it round the bend quickly it brings my back end round nicely, sometimes im not sure if it is the HICAS or me losing traction. i quite like it but then i have not had the car going hard round a track or a skid pan yet. am booked in to take it on the skid pan at AHG next month so i will have a better idea then and make my mind up wether i still like it.
-
maybe go to a wreckers and get a whole new set of locks and barrel for the car. save having a new lock put in and needing a second key. though it seems like a lot of effort. i would rather have 2 keys.

I had this happen to my old car (lancer shhh ) took the gauge cluster out of the dash and had a really close look at all the wires on the PCB. i found a tiny little hair line crack in one of the runs. so pretty much as the temps changed in the car the gap would expand causing the Speedo to cut out. i souldered a small strip of bare wire across the gap and it fixed the problem. Could be the same problem here.
