ok i have no patience so i have already gone onto just jap and paid for a set of JJR coil packs. i hope it was the correct choice and that it fixes the problem. I think i will make sure i get myself some good plugs and find out what the best gapping will be for them while im at it.

Does any one know where i can go and buy my self some spitfires? or one of the other brands, i remember reading somewhere about a couple of other brands that are ment to be good (or am i best to just get the spitfires?). im not really all that sure exactly how it all works but im guessing it is my coil packs that are gone. are spitfires a direct relpacement for these? or something totally different?
-
Ah yeah they helped heaps thanks mate. Had it hooked up to the diagnostic today and the fault is an ignition error. Im guessing it would almost definitely be the coil packs like every one else. The diagnostic cost 90 bucks. My girlfriend took it in. Seems bloody steep for a 2 minute job? all they do is hook the laptop up to it and it tells them what the fault is.

I drove around to heaps of garages at lunch yesterday with no luck. I drove home and didnt have a problem last night thankfuly. I got the train today lol. I didnt bother going to nissan because i already knew they would not be able to help me. With the last car when my keys got stolen they were not even able to help me with anything other that ordering the new keys. They also said they were not even able to get a workshop manual for that car (well one that was in english any way) i am going to have to try to find somewhere that i can take it to tomorrow. Can any one recomend a good workshop that should that the car to that will be open on a saturday?

Hi guys. I have been having the engine light SLIP light and TCS OFF light coming on. it did it this morning on the freeway and I realised the engine was running badly. I pulled over and shut the car off. After about 2 minutes I started it and it came good again. it felt like it was only running on 5 cylinders or something. It was really shaky and sounded like it was struggling. I really need to get this sorted out ASAP. Im really not looking forward to driving home tonight. do any of you know what the problem might be?

Hi guys. Some of you will know that I have been having the engine light SLIP light and TCS OFF light coming on. it did it this morning on the freeway and I realised the engine was running badly. I pulled over and shut the car off. After about 2 minutes I started it and it came good again. it felt like it was only running on 5 cylinders or something. It was really shaky and sounded like it was struggling. I really need to get this sorted out ASAP. Im in Osborne park and really not looking forward to driving home tonight. do any of you know what the problem might be? And also where around here I can maybe take the car at lunch and have a diagnostic done? With my working hours I don’t know where I would be able to because every were is closed before I get to work and by the time I get home. Regards,

ok well had the lights on all the way up the freeway this morning i pulled over and turned it off but they were still on when i started her back up again. I think the car was trying to wish me a happy birthday lol nothing like your car doing silly things to put you in a good mood. i was wrong before it was not my HICAS light that wa on it was the TCS OFF light. once i got into the city i turned it off again at a set of lights and that time it did the trick. Going to have to get it on the diagnostic but do any of you have an idea as to what it is?

Hi guys I would like to just quickly say how happy i am with j-spec, i was dealing with Craig and found him to be very helpful! He was always very quick to answers any questions i had which made me feel very comfortable and confident that i was in good hands. I am really quite pleased with the new car, j-spec always seem to get some of the very nicest cars. I am going to give it a really good clean tomorrow because its a bit dirty at the moment, then I will post a couple of snaps up. That being said though, i have had a couple of things that are getting to me. The big one is the HKS pod filter i have on it at the moment. I know some people really love the sound of them but i have to say it is really giving me the shi*s!! the exhaust it has on it sounds amazing and i dont like how much the filter over powers everything. If any one is looking to sell a standard air box then send me a message and i will take it off your hands. Another thing im slightly worried about is how this morning i had my HICAS SLIP and Engine lights all on at the same time. I pulled into a bus stop and turned the car off and then once i started it again it was all back to normal. I have seen a couple of posts on the forum before about this but dont think any one had actually come back and said what it turned out to be. im also having trouble getting the big yellow egg stain off the back of the car have some good strong car paint cleaner and if that fails then i guess it will be a cut and polish.

car needs a really clean up at the moment. Will try and give it a good once over and get a couple of snaps to post this weekend.
-
Thanks m8 yeah im really pleased with it. a few things i want to change and sort out with it but all in all i think it worked out to be well worth it. have a good trip m8 and we will have to catch up at some point wen you get back.
-
It sure did would not have been able to get it done if it were not for brandons help. And my girlfriend who had to do a lot of the running around for me while i have been at work. now it is just a matter of trying to get the car all cleaned up. and getting the big yellow egg stain of the back
-
yeah i would make sure i got it done by someone here in perth if i was to do it again. Though i have to say after all this i dont think i will be doing it again. Its just far to much stress, waiting and i have already had a day and a half of work which is not really too good, and I am still going to need more time off to go to the pits again. I just realised i dont need the standard tyres to put it over the pits i need to have 245/45/R17s because thats what i have on my tyre placard. at the moment i have 255/40R/17's on the back and 235/45/R17s on the front. I called the DPI today and talked to one of the technical expert guys to see what i would be able to get away with and he said i can not have the 235's because you are not allowed to go lower than what you have on your placard. I am hoaping that i can get away with the 255's and just change the front but im not sure? i could not remember off the top of my head what i had on the car so the guy could not give me an answer but i think i will call again in the morning and see what they say now i know what i have got on the car at the moment.

Shogun Car Co. they are over in brisbane. its been a real headach getting the car sorted to pass the pits. i just need to get the correct tyres on it now and then i can can put it over. i really want to have it done by the end of the week its my birthday next monday and i want it sorted and on the road by then

Does any one have a set of R34 wheels with 245s on them that they would be willing to lend me to get my car over the pits? have 235 on the front at the moment and 255 on the back. I think if i get pair of 235s for the back i would get away with it because the front abd back will be even and they will be 10mm under which i think im alowed but i really dont want to get there and have them send me packing again over 10 bloody mills. thanks.

oh yeah also does any one know how the back rest rot the back seat comes off because it is pissing me off hearing it make all that noise they have really not looked after my car! The wiring in the headlights is shocking! copper exposed all over the place. The hight adjuster motor in the right hand head light is not working. They have also put a hole in the back parsel shelf cloth where they must have started to drill for the child restraint and then realised that they were drilling too far back. EDIT: ok sorted the seat out. was easy enough. the covering had worn through on the hooks so it was metal rubbing against mettal. plus they had missed the middle hook which is why it moved so much. i just cut up some of my old jeans and wrapped a load of that around the bars on the back of the seat and taped it on with that bandaid tape stuff. no more noise

Do any of you guys know how to get the back speakers out of the R34 coupe? i can see the screws are under the speaker covers but can get them off. is there a trick to getting the covers off?
-
thanks heaps for the offer m8. i think i will be ok though. i fitted the standard air box and then replumbed the BOV back to its origional pipe rather than it going strait to a pod filter, now you can hardly hear it. have to get some serious revs up to make it loud enough to even realise it is there.
-
lol fair enough. yeah i would have had it taken out if they had asked me i think. who even actually put the middle belt in are blolody useless though i know that much. they have not secured the back rest in properly after taking it out because you can wiggle it a fair bit in the middle so it makes heaps of creaking noise when someone is on the back seat. Iam going to want to take that off and fix it down better. have no idea how to get if off and how i am going to fix it though.
-
yeah it is. haha i didnt think about that but yeah they have made a big cockup hey!! if they pulled me up on that they would want me to have compliance redone.
-
i cant see the logo but for all i know it could be on the underside. will maybe take it off today and have a look. i just realise something else also. am i the only person in the world with a 5 seater r34? they have fitted a middle seat belt and on the compliance plate they have fitted it even says thats its a 5 seater car. im pretty sure that is wrong and if i had been pulled up on it yesterday i would have been totally screwed! ???
-
yeah i would have called the workshop today but they do not work on a friday which is no good. I really want to have the car on the road by my birthday on the 20th, It has been over 4 months now i think from when that knob went in to the back of me and wrote my last car of untill now. I was very lucky really, as much as i was pissed at the inspector for a couple of things he pinged me for he is doing his job and it could have gone much worse. If he wanted to he could have told me i have to have all my suspension, my exhaust (which is pretty huge lol) and the BOV returned to stock. i would have been screwed! At leas its only a few things that they need to check on next time and they are not too bad. i will just have to go and get a pair of 245s and chuck them on. once it has passed though i will take them off again and just keep them ready for next time i need new tires.

Well my car arrived yesterday morning first off the battery was dead which is fair enough but we tried jump starting her with no luck. So off to buy a new battery..... Got the battery sorted then one of the headlights wouldn't work so spent ages trying to suss that out. Got it working but the height adjustment doesn't work on it. Headed over to the pits and on the way noticed the wheels were rubbing on the arches so had to stop in somewhere to get the suspension altered. Its adjustable and think its APEXi????? Got that sorted out, finally arrived at the inspection centre to be told they weren't looking at any more cars that day and to come back in the morning. Well had the morning off work to take her and we didn't pass. 1st the battery wasn't secure enough and I don't have a horn (didn't think to check first as I thought the compliance guys would have checked this?) 2nd the air filter needs changing, they wouldn't accept the pod filter needs to be standard. 3rd the tyre placard is wrong. According to my compliance certificate my new tyre placard was fitted to the inside of my glove box part no. R34-TP01C but there is no placard in the glove box and the one on the door frame is part no. R34-TP02C. So I need to find the 01c one or they won't pass it. The tyres are also the wrong size and they managed to put the 255 on the front with the 235 on the back (I need to replace the 255 as the max. I can have is 245). 4th the tint was a tad to dark on the back and rear quarter windows so thats come off. 5th the BOV (which is plummed back) is too loud so need to figure out how to silence it/make it quieter. There is a screw on top of the BOV which I've tightened up but doesn't seem to make a difference. I've uploaded a picture of it below so you can see what it is, I don't know what brand it is or anything. Does anyone know how to make it any quieter?? Will putting on the standard air box and filter which Brandon has lent me, help at all?
-
Yeah but the car also has an exhaust so now because of what BAZ said im worried about that.
-
yeah but the car has already been through and passed its compliance. I this not is just to prove the car is road legal and to get the car licensed here in WA? surely it would not be that strict, i would have thought it would be no different to buying a car from over east and getting it licensed here. I'm sure people are not expected to take the wheels kits and mods etc off there commodores and what non just to licence them here in WA providing they are road legal?
