R33 GTST Coil Packs/O2 sens/ Crank Angle sens
Swordfish19792002 replied to Swordfish19792002's topic in General Maintenance
ok...... GTR Killer thanks. Thinkin of VL's too much. I started on my Injectors yesterday. I took the whole Fuel rail out and sent it in with the injectors in it to be cleaned. I found that in the manifold...the last 3 sections inside the manifold are quiete darker in oil. I am talking about the last 3 manifold sections closest to the fire wall. The first 3 are clean as. I am thinkin o gettin the head ported and polished a little ...while i have the stuff off. Not sure yet what to do. -
After reading a few posts about the coil pack issues i was wondering, 1. How much for new set of coils 2. Where can we get them from 3. Watt brand (Spitfires/Genuine nissan ?) Also O2 sensor & crank angle sensor....how much and where can we get it from? ................................................................................ .......................................... I got my car dyno yesterday at Jem performance at Moorebank NSW but I did the following before the dyno, 1. New fuel filter(coopers brand) 2. New BCP7E NGK Spark plugs.....(no adjustment on gap.. kept standard gap) 3. Reset the ECU It was dyno at 134 kw. A few adjustments and i got 145kw safely. Yes my car has got a pingin issue and missfire. ................................................................................ .......................................... I will try the following now; 1. Clean the injectors out (my car has done 101,000 km now) 2. Seal the coil packs (with either Araldite or that dialetic grease) 3. Change 02 sensor 4. Change crank angle sensor (? not sure about this one yet) I will do each in stages to c if there is any change between these items do. maybe we can hopefully isolate something. ................................................................................ ....................................... Have i left anything out? What do u guys think?

At 60 000km my car was serviced and NGK Iridium Spark plugs were installed. My car has now done 100 000km....and the iridiums have failed....why cause it was chewin up fuel....missin at times and bit of pingin goin on. So i replaced them with normal NGK BCPR7ES plugs @$4.20 each from autopro. Car seems very well now..no associated problems.

I also get 9 litres per 100km travelled...so roughly 460-80km on a tank...manual turbo 1993 GTST but i notcied hot days she may drink a little more....i notcied the other week when it was hot i only got 390km out of a tank. obviously as hot air is less dense and therefore less air molecules for the engine to combust. So more fuel would be dumped into the engine than air..theortically casue of the temperature.......hope it makes sense

I fixed my aricon unit acutally. The OFF button would not push in or out..it was in no mans land. I pulled the unit out. Wat you will find is the front plastic panel comes off. Be CAREFUL WHEN TAKEN THIS SHIT OFF AS ITS ALL PLASTIC..U BREAK IT AND IT WIL BE LOOSE OR YOU WILL EFF IT COMPLETELY.. Anyway i unclipped the front panel and the button was not in line with this white plastic stick thingy that goes in inside the unit. Dont play around with the button too much as it has 2 little black plastic tabs that the button in place.....otherwise if u leaver t he button out or play with the little black tabs will break. They look delicate. Just super glue the back of the button (a little raised star shaped plastic pad ) to the white stick insdie the unit. So i super glued the button to the stick so it wont come off again. The switch is so ever tight now llike a virgin switch everytime u push it. ha ha... I also did the Auto switch to cover my ass for later. Cheers

Clacking sound from Centre console
Swordfish19792002 replied to heartbrkr's topic in General Maintenance
Join the club boys..mine does the same upon startin the car up for about 7 seconds then it stops thank god. Heater box is under the front passenger dash i think. Your right u have to pull the whole dash out to get to it. My mate just did it to his R33 gtr. He had to pull the dash out to get to the heater box. -
Cooling System flush now engine cuts out
Swordfish19792002 replied to Red Sky II's topic in General Maintenance
Check the idlin speed of ur car..should idle at 800 revs or so... if it not then ur idle needs adjustin. Where does the temperature gauge sit? Does it idle rough ? Cant see something wet bein the problem at this stage as the car engine would have dried out by now. -
After how many km's do u have to drop the gearbox oil ? What brand is vmx80? The last time time i changed my fuel filter was at 60,000km i just changed it now at 100,000km goes much harder now. i cut open the old one...it was dirty as hell..all brown shit in it and build up of particles. I recently changed my fuel filter i used coopers brand ...$6.00 and oil filter.........................................coopers brand......$9.00 and dropped the engine oil.......Fuchs (german oil )10w 30......$49.00 5 litres -Synthetic oil- I thought I give the Fuchs oil a go. The last 5,000km oil changed i used Valvoline 10w 30 not synthetic, which i bought at $28.00 and i noticed the oil was very black. I usually use the Conoco Philips oil which i noticed gives me a good repsonse in power after an oil change, it becomes more responsive i found . So far the Fuchs oil hasnt really done much at the moment power wise.

He guys, There was a thread posted last year in regardds to a clutch that i used on my R33 The clutch was a 4wd heavy duty clutch with was interchangable with my R33. I found the reciept and the details area as follows to give u guys an idea; The brand i think was a Daiken clutch kit. Maybe we can use this a guideline of some sort in order to make sure some guys out there dont over charge us. The clutch was replaced at 70,000km and my car has now clocked up 100,000km with no problems at all wit hthe clutch or adjustments. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Date 25/06/2003 Slacks Creek Brake and Clutch 20 Aranda St, Slacks Creek QLD 4127 Ph 07 3808 8193 Fax 07 3808 8584 Item Qty Descr Amount DR 1002NHD 1 Clutch kit $285.00 GST $28.50 Total $28.50 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The guys that installed it were as follows; ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 26/06/2003 Gavin Wood Auto Tech 1/23 Gibbs St, Labrador QLD 4215 Ph 07 5529 2313 Fax 07 5563 8649 R&R Gearbox & clutch assembly Machine Flywheel Replace clutch kit with unit supplied Replace spigott bush Reassemble and road test vehicle $236.36 GST $23.36 Total $260.00 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
