Rb20det To Rb26dett
Proximity Motorsport replied to PhatMike's topic in General Automotive Discussion
standard r32 gtr with catback and pods make 280rwhp. Rememebr GTR has factory front mount, i would b using this rather than an aftermarket one. Also u will need an rb25 box (bolt straight in) cause the rb20 box will also bolt straight on but it is alot weaker. The gtr box will be no good to you as it is for 4wd. -
Okay, well I used a wire buff on 4" grinder and got all the green paint off my spare rocker covers. Now i have used 360, 600, 800 then 1200 grit paper to get it smoothe. Then i used a bench grinder with buffing wheels to polish it... and there is like black tarnish metal. How can i clean it? I used the buff at my tuners workshop and he told me befor i started nissan rockers are made of cheap alloy u will get stains. I meen it looks good and all but there is stains under the surface. How can i fix it!!!! thaanks

not reading whole thread so dont know if this has been said or if u sorted it. Get castor rods and put more castor on. That will move your front tyres forward. Making for better handling and no scrubbing. And get coilovers if u dont have them, car might not aborb bumps so much and wont scrub casue will be stiffer

Faq: Apexi Powerfc - Frequently Asked Questions
Proximity Motorsport replied to paulr33's topic in Tutorials / DIY / FAQ
Hey, I have a RB26DETT FC D-Jetro on its way from nengun and i have the field one touch connecter from greenline. A mate (the_mafia) is re-wiring it to suit my rb20det r32 gtst. He has done the conversion with a normal fc but never djetro. My current mods 3" turboback 2.5" split dump GCG Highflow Turbo Turbosmart boost T HKS Pod Walbro Fuel Pump Fuel Pressure Reg (going to be removed with ecu install) Splitfire Coilpacks Plazmaman Forward intake plenum hybrid fmic plazmaman piping kit when ecu goes in (already have waiting) GTR injectors 3-4" intake pipe Now we have extablised i can use a vacuume line from under plenum and T off to 2 map sensors. What im wondering is i have read the map sensors need to be spliced into standard loom for airflow meter... so do we cut off plug, and just splice 2 new wires to each existing wire in the airflow meter loom. Also air intake temp sensor. Where does it go... have been told this will make tune much easier. So basically is there an aftermarket option (bosch) or something that is cheap or should i source one new from nissan?? Will i need to weld any nipples onto piping anywhere or what? And now for the acc valve. I have a hose going from that to my intake pipe (behind my afm) for now and i have been told i can just put a little breather filter off the valve and leave it at that with the fc... and it will work fine, is this true. Factory oxygen sensor... should i replace it... i have been told they should be done every 40,000km and my guess is mine is still factory one. I have also been told i wont need it with djetro and it would be a waste of money... in that case can i plug off the dump pipe or should i just leave it or should i replace it. thanks alot if you could answer these questions. Yes i have read the faq but i could not find too much relating to my issues in depth. cheers, Leon -
Lol R34 Front On R33

definately not uras... Ive seen a few wierd conversions. This is a more common coversion for the r32 -
good thread. One thing not clear to me though. I have gtr injectors.. not installed yet. As i am waiting for my power fc d-jetro. I am getting a GTR rb26dett computer and wiring it up to suit rb20 (cheaper). Would i need to do this mod or just plug straight in??

22" Forged On A R35.... "droooooolsssssss'
Proximity Motorsport replied to Gazzilla's topic in R35 GTR
I think it looks good. And who said these wheels weigh 20-30kg more... get real. Maybe nissan could have just fitted 19s...but why not just go 20s... everyone is doing it these days. New commodores are stock with 20s. Soon 20's will be the new 15's of today -
Hey, I was thinking about changing all my old black standard vacuume hoses to blue silicone... and I was told that they are not as good as factory ones because they suck shut under high boost. Kinda like the standard intake. Is this true?? I know there is no gain i just want wank to make my engine look a little flasher

camber will do it too. Althought my r32gtst has 2.5 degrees neg front camber and im not getting uneven tyre wear.

Is My Speedo Cable Broken?
Proximity Motorsport replied to Skyline34's topic in General Automotive Discussion
just so you know..... its that little yellow plastic piece you posted a pic of. You can clearly see its split. When it is split like that it will not grip the spindle therefore not spinning the gears in speedo cluster,, therefor no speedo. You could have bought a can of lectraclean or co contact cleaner and cleaned it from grease, $2 tube superglue and reglue it, then regrease it and then reinstall. Alot cheaper and no speedo cable replacement. -

100k Km Service Sticker
Proximity Motorsport replied to R3sp3ct's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
diferent places will do different things.. mainly, gearbox, engine, diff oil power steer, brake and clutch fluid flush wheels bearings timing belt radiator hoses brake pads or rotors thats some of the things that may be done... and i have heard alot of japs do the 100,000km service every 50,000. Cause usually u service it say 5000km or 6 months... but a 100,000km service is done say every 100,000km or 6 years.. and they may only get 50,000km on it in that 6 years..... if u ge what i mean -
Hey. What size gauge siuts the aircon vent on right hand side of r32 gtst.... down neer your knee. And please post pics of where your gauges are... i want 3... boost, oil temp n oil press.... cheers

Hey, If you have access to a welder then your in luck. Can be done with stick but mig is alot better for thin material. Well here i go to explain how to strenghen them First off... you will notice nissan arms are three sided. If you box them in, they will obviously be alot stronger. First you need to get cardboard (cereal box) and cut it up to the shape of the arm so that it fits. Then cut out 3mm thick mild steel plate to the shape. I used oxy and then a bench grinder to shape. But if you dont have access to a oxy then a jigsaw may cut it.. and then angle grinder while holding it in vice you should be able to shape it. setup welder and tack it all in place and make sure its sitting right. If not break the tack welds and re-try. Also reason to do a tack on each corner is so that the weld does not pull the metal out of place. Once welded it burnt through the bushes but that was ok as they were replaced with superpro bushes. Its pretty simple really. Can be done to any type of arm just gotta remember with control arms you need to leave room of a socket to get in for castor rod bolts and sway bar links.

im wth racq and they are good. My old auto silvia broke down and he figured out altenator f**ked itself and he was right, he organised tow truck and towed it for free. Ive also used them for i thought i had my keys out and turbo timer on but i had keys in ignition, got out locked car and went to maccas came back and was still running... he broke in for me... although he did the hard thing... i said look dude its pillarless stick some wire through here and latch onto the lock and he said nah nah this way easier, tried for about 10 minutes with 2 plates jammed down the window and he couldnt get it, tried my way and got it in no time. RACQ only good experience for me.
