Proximity Motorsport replied to Proximity Motorsport's topic in Engines & Forced Induction

Rb25det Struggles With Warm Starts
Proximity Motorsport replied to Psyrus's topic in General Maintenance
the clicking noise is probably just relays switching on and off. To me sounds like your battery has had it. Jump start the car, and get a multi meter onto your alternator and check what volts its putting out. If there is around 13.8volts at alternator and less at battery your battery is probably had it. But if alternator does not have that many volts its your alternator. -
Rb25 Voltage Problems

its definately got good earth. There is 2 from chassis to battery and 2 from chassis to block, all on clean metal. Not sure what alternator it is, its a 90amp mistu one. Can anyone tell me whether or not r32/r33 have internal or external volt regulators? -
befor u go and pay $500-$600 for coilpacks, get some heat temp proof silicone and fill in the gaps on your coilpacks so it cant earth out on head instead of on plug. Search coilpack budget mods, you might find pictures.

I would personally go a 76mm cooler core, 100mm is way to thick. Also if your have a real thick intercooler, its harder from air to pass through and your radiator will recieve less air and then may have overheating problems. Save your money and get a 76mm core, you will probably notice a bit of lag with the 100mm core, because there is more area to fill, it takes longer.

Hey, I have some issues with my rb25det in r32. We tried to tune it but to no avail because the voltage keeps dropping. I tried two new alternators and niether one changed anything. I have check continuity from -ve and +ve from battery to alternator and i have checked voltage at alternator and battery and its the same both sides, and as the car runs the voltage keeps dropping. I am really stuck!!! If someone can offer some ideas I would be very appreciative. Thanks, Leon

Gtr Vs Gtst Huge Difference In Performance?
Proximity Motorsport replied to boostin_r33's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
didnt wanna sort through everything that has been said... but i have owned 2 gts-ts and I have driven several GTRs (all r32 models) and the stock GTR was same speed as my rb20 i had spent 10k on. My gtst had all suspension possible exept tie rods and front control arms. Yet the gtr with no 4wd fuse and coilovers in it, handles better, they have a complete diferent suspension setup to gtst and in my personal experience its much better. Not to mention the clutch plate diff, lighter, better looking front panels, rear wide body, interiour, the purr of a rb26, and more potential with factory parts... GTRhands down -
Hey, Well I purchased a vipec v88 chip for my r32 with rb25. I got a r33 stock ecu here to put the vipec into. I got both the covers off the ecu and the screws holding the board in are soldered tight, with solder in the top where the screw driver goes. Just wondering if anyone has any tips on getting these screws out? I tried to melt the solder but the $10 soldering iron is not proving helpful. cheers

R32 Gtst Roll Cage,
Proximity Motorsport posted a topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Hey I went to QLD Transport yesterday and got the legalities of a roll cage printed out. All requirements etc... And im just wondering if someone out there has the specs on a cusco cage? They are cheap, just want some close up photos of how they mount and whether or not they have bracing through the chassis rails where they bolt on or not, cause it needs to be braced to be legal. Also want to know wall thickness, and diameter of all tubing used. thankyou to anyone who can help in any way -
i got a gtr one brand new fiberglass. Pretty cheap. You pay postage can have it for $150

Tomei Poncams Lobes Chipped
Proximity Motorsport replied to junga's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I would be getting a refund on that, what was reason for sale -
Hey, I was just looking through some old magazines and found an old hot 4's magazine, and the s13 on the front had a fmic in the grill, I was interested so I turned to the page. And then i saw it... Cry02, or Cryogenic Intake Cooling Systems. Its based in America and the company sells Ny-Trex(Nos) and these C02 alternatives. They have fuel bars to cool fuel, intake tubes with a bulb of C02 inside to cool intake temps, and intercooler sprayers. They are claiming the spray will make the intercooler 50% more effective at cooling. They say that these kits use the same chemical "C02" which is found in some fire extinguishers, and off the top of my head they are -200degreesC. They say the kits can be refilled for $20 at any local place (maybe fire extinguisher specialists?) So the point of my post.. Has anyone ever used this stuff? I was going to get water/meth but was thinking this might be better... or maybe I could combine the two. The kits arent that expensive either, coming in at AUD$590 for a full install kit with 10lbs tank plus the accessories you wish to use, coming in at AUD$185 for the Fuel bar, AUD$234 for the intake bulb and AUD$150-280 for the intercooler sprays. Thanks guys, open to ideas and discussions... also anyone know if this would be a legal alternative to Nos? LINK: http://www.designengineering.com/products.asp?m=sc&cid=1
