Audi Type Led Strips For Front Parkers
johnr replied to johnr's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Thanks for the good info. I have ordered two LED strips and will try to insert them into the parking light space when they arrive. Will let you know how I get on with the conversion -
Has anyone converted their front parking lights to the Audi type LED strips; or can you direct me to some more info on how it can be done?

Problem With Fuel And Tempurature Gauge
johnr replied to tonich's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
My fuel gauge is the same. I fill up and only 35 litres can go in and the gauge fluctuates from full to three quarters full so at half full the gauge shows empty and the empty light comes on. Any clues???? -
Power Window Motor & Statutory Warranty
johnr replied to MSKYO's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
It definately should be covered. I had my fuel door solenoid replaced under the 3 month warranty. He tried me out before he realised that I knew about the statutory warranty so don't relent - you are entitled to have it replaced. Mine cost me $400 for the motor and make sure you get someone who knows what he's doing as there are a few tricks to preparing the new motor before it can be put in. Good luck -
Problems With Abs Or Vdc Activating?

Thanks for the comprehensive answer - I really appreciate it and will try the Nissan dealer again and hopefully will talk to someone who has a brain!!!! -
Problems With Abs Or Vdc Activating?
johnr replied to johnr's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Thanks for that and will follow it up with the dealer as it seems that the dealers should have software to reset the VDC -
I am still having problems with the front left wheel brake activating when cornering hard around right corners. As I mentioned before, it started after a wheel alignment but the front suspension was only checked and didn't need adjusting; only the rear was adjusted. The VDC light flashes when the brake activates. The wheel doesn't skid during this but the brake comes on lightly from 1 to 3 times during the event. I has me stuffed as I thought the VDC only operates on the driving wheels; that's what makes me think it is a problem with the abs and why would it be affected if the front suspension was not touched! Nissan service can't help as they have nothing to check VDC as the 350z doesn't have it so they say. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Vdc Coming On After Rear Wheel Alignment
johnr replied to johnr's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
I have found that it may be the ABS being activated and not the VDC as it is only occurring to the front right wheel and it doesn't matter if the VDC in on or not it still happens. Also is the Nissan 350z oil filter ok for V35 and what is the size of the sump plug crush washer? Thanks -
Does anyone know for certain if the 350Z disc pads (front & rear) are identical to the Skyline 350gt non Brembo pads??

Vdc Coming On After Rear Wheel Alignment
johnr replied to johnr's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
It is still happening just after startup and it seems to grab on the front left wheel; but it only happens once or twice immediately after a new trip and then it doesn't do it again during the trip. i checked all sensors and the are still tight against the rear sensor ring on the diff. Beats me as to whats happening!! I just got a 2 rear tyres from Tempe tyres at a great price; 275x35x18 Kuhmo for $220 each. They are excellent - really quiet and great in the wet. The next best price for them was $310! Has anyone got a sports grille they want to sell? -
Vdc Coming On After Rear Wheel Alignment
johnr posted a topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
I recently had my V35 4 wheels aligned and driving home the VDC started operating during normal driving. I turned if off then on and it has happened once since then. Any clues??? -
My 04 auto seems to hesitate occasionally when driving in top gear under no load. There does not seem to be any loss of power but just a slight hesitation for a fraction of a second. It has done 54k and otherwise runs beautifully. I don't know if the plugs are original - it may need new ones? Any ideas? Has anyone else experienced this?

V35 Goodies Put On Today...
johnr replied to siu_loong_bao's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
I would be thinking twice about the Stillen cat back exhaust. I imported one for A$1100 and it was dented (obviously done at the factory as the box was undamaged) the twin pipes were 10 mm out of centre and the sound was deafening. Plus the joins were slip jointed with clamps - really agricultural. I had to subsequently have a local exhaust place modify it for $500 by adding a new centre muffler and flange joint and now it is excellent apart from tailpipes being out of centre. Stillen didn't bother replying to my emails after the first one! -
Can anyone give me feedback on Nankang tyres for a V35 - wear rate, noise wet performance? Any other tyre types I should consider? I need 2 rears 275x35x18's
-
I got it from the Nissan service dept at Gosford Nissan and when I first enquired they quoted me $61. I paid by visa over the phone and they had it there for me in 2 days so they must have them in stock here in Oz. The key shown on ebay is worth a try for $25 but you must have the right profile for it to slide into the barrel. I don't know if the key on an ebay is a transponder key either. Keep trying other Nissan dealers because everyone you speak to will tell you something different and they generally don't like imports nor do they know much about them. Good luck
-
I don't know if $141 was the standard price but I know locksmiths charge $110 - 130 for transponder keys but their programming instruments do not recognise Nissan keys. The email to nissan japan for the code is: [email protected] but TomR33 can also give it to you. Check the previous posts in this thread. Good luck

Hi, I finally got my act together and got a spare key programmed for my 2004 V35 and it works fine. I purchased the key from Nissan spares using the chassis number ($141) had it cut ($20) and then had it programmed by the Nissan service dept at Gosford NSW ($30). I used the pin that I got from TomR33 and from Nissan Japan which were identical and the programming took 5 minutes. Quite an easy task.

I have been quoted $60 for the in cabin filter from Nissan Gosford and $166 for the new transponder key. Thanks Tom for the pin code - it was exactly the same as the one I got from Nissan Japan. Regards John

I hope I don't need it!
