  1. I'm in a similar position to you. I've just installed a turbotech boost controller and I'm hitting the same level of boost as you even on the lowest possible setting. Starting to suspect it might be my new split dump pipe (JJR type) but I'm really only guessing at this stage. Hope it's not that, I thought most people used these without a problem.
  2. I've just finished installing the turbotech boost controller and an Autometer boost gauge. Even on the lowest setting (boost controller screw loosened almost completely) I'm hitting around 14psi or so. 2nd gear usually comes to around 10-12, but third and fourth go all the way up to 14psi, not sure if it would go any higher as I stop accelerating when I see that. I've tried tightening the screw (can't loosen it any further) and I get the same results. For some reason my boost gauge isn't showing any boost in 1st gear? I probably just wasn't gunning it in 1st though. What could the problem be? I've installed the turbotech bc as per instructions in the DIY section of this site. Fairly sure the autometer gauge is accurate and installed correctly. Seems to be consistent with the dash gauge (i.e. the needle of both boost gauges hit 0 at the same time). EDIT - Mods include JJ Cooling Pro type 1 FMIC, full 3" exhaust with hi-flow cat.
  3. Check here. Kaaz 2 way LSD. http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/index.p...howtopic=176665
  4. Ok, that would probably be the most economical thing to do. Guess I'll give it a go and if it runs like a dog I'll change it. Cheers.
  5. I asked him last night, he said he was using a Shell oil 5w-40. I'm guessing that's the Helix Ultra or whatever. Not sure if it's 100% syntehtic or not. I ended up getting 5litres of Royal Purple from autobarn. 10w-40. I'll change it over to this stuff tomorrow.
  6. I bought my Skyline a couple of weeks ago, the guy I purchased it off changed the oil around 60,000klms.. it's now at 61,500klms. Checked my oil today and it needs topping up. Don't have any oil on hand so I've got to go get some, intending on going to get some Motul 10-40 or similar tonight. I'm not sure what type of oil the previous owner used. If he was using semi-synthetic or crap oil will this be a problem if I top it up with better oil? I vaguely remember him saying he used Shell, but I'm not 100% sure on that. Think I might just have to change it anyway.
  7. This is a good price I reckon. I'd be keen in like six to eight weeks.. Broke at the moment from purchasing other mods tho. haha.
  8. Received my boost controller today. For those that are wondering - it came with the hole in it already.
  9. So depressing reading about this sort of stuff.. the people responsible for such low acts seem to never get caught either...
  10. Fit them last night.. no more squealing, yay haha. Thanks rs73.
  11. Should have got his rego and reported him. Usually don't think of that sorta stuff until after it's all happened though, easy to get distracted in the heat of the moment when the adrenaline is running.
  12. CUT THE BLUE WIRE.. NO WAIT, CUT THE RED.. My mate's silvia had that speed warning thing, really annoying.. Sorted it out quick smart though. My R33 has the ignition key warning beeper, but no speed warning. Probably disconnected before I purchased it.
  13. @BJ: that's pretty crazy man. That's the only problem with road rage, you don't know how crazy the other person is and how far they're willing to take it. Sorta scary really.. There are some absolute hot headed maniacs out there that will pull out a club lock and smash the crap out of you and your car without thinking twice.
  14. Just get the JJR. Save the left over money for other mods .. The difference would not be worth the price I wouldn't think.
  15. Damn!!! Shows that you gotta be quick! I'm near Springwood (QLD), coulda picked it up tomorrow haha. Ah well, guess I'll just get a NEO AFC.
  16. I was having missfire problems with my R33 when I first bought it (2 weeks ago or so now). Old mate that sold it to me was using Caltex Vortex (tank was full when he gave me the car).. First thing I did was I replaced the fuel filter and the O2 sensor, for simple general maintenance reasons. He had never changed the fuel filter since he got it. After doing this I filled up with BP Ultimate. I no longer get the missfire problem.. If yours come back you could try that. I'm now getting better fuel economy too, which would more so have to do with the o2 sensor. Otherwise re-gap spark plugs (or replace, when where they last done?). If the problem is still there, your next step would be coilpacks. They're expensive though, $400-600 for a set.
  17. If the automatic sedans are your cuppa tea then I say go for it.. but they are harder to sell as there is less of a demand for them. Just something to think of.
  18. Rotors arrived today. Thanks RS73. Will leave some trader feedback tonight. Looking forward to fitting them later this week.
  19. ^^ That's a pretty good idea haha.
  20. Damn straight.. SOOOO many funny quotes from that movie. Anchorman and Super Troopers are my two favourite comedies.
  21. The finger is just a reflex reaction. It's hard to not flip the bird at a wanker when they're being their wanker'ish selves.
  22. If you're replacing rotors you could upgrade to some RDA slotted rotors? rs73 runs group buys very regularly for them. Good prices too.
  23. Yeah, you could do that. That's a good non-confrontational way of going about it. It's better to sort through these type of things rather than letting them later escalate in to something bigger.. Happens too often. Nothing worse than having to worry about people who are holding grudges against ya!
  24. If you know what room he lives in I'd probably go knock on his door and explain the situation.. Not to stir more shit but explain the circumstances and your intentions. Say it was just a misunderstanding and that your sorry. If he doesn't also apologise at least you tried.. That way you can rest easy if he recognises you later when parking your newly painted skyline outside the apartment. Better than getting panels keyed. All that aside he sounds like an absolute tool and deserves a punch in the face. I've had situations similar to what you're describing and it really makes my blood boil!!
