I fitted a Trust kit in an Impul Fibreglass bumper today. Get a mate to hold the bumper in place for a test fit - you will be able to see where the bumper is hitting on the intercooler. Then measure on the side where it fits up against the light as to how far away you are. I was about 5cm with mine. I then measured a 5cm line across the bit(s) of bumper that was causing the problem and made a template line with masking tape, then went to it with an angle grinder. Needed a bit of tidying up with a file & sandpaper but came up nice in the end. I cut a little on the conservative side and let the file do the rest. Bumper is now a perfect fit around the core. Yep, all the wiring is there.. just connect it up & you're laughing. You might need some double-sided foam sticky tape stuff to mount it, but otherwise all there.

Hey Shan, Are you sure on that bit about chemical use clearance? I translated that one as asking the repairer to use Fluorine Resin Clearcoat.. my direct tranlsation reads: "Caution when repairing paintwork. This vehicle is a Fluorine Resin vehicle, hence when conducting paint repairs please ensure that Fluorine Resin Clearcoat is used. If you are unsure, please consult with the nearest Nissan involved sales company." Splitting hairs... but hey, you were quicker than me.

As much as it pains me to say it, I think you'll be lucky... but if you can get $23k for it you'd make me a very happy man. Would be interested to know what it goes for if/when you manage to sell her, please post/PM me the final price! There are at least 5 of these now in Oz - adding yours. Hey Pat.. lol - was about to comment when I saw your second post. Moderators sorry for commenting here, yes I know it's the for sale section not 'lets argue about what is a reasonable price'! Sorry to hear you got a bad one.. not all the cheap cars from Japan are bad though. I bought sight unseen through J-Spec and was very happy with the condition of my car and feel I got a total bargain (Skyline, not Stagea - but same principle). They do go to a lot of trouble to get as much information and heaps of photos showing condition before you buy too. The Autech Stageas are really coming down at the moment though. There are heaps around on the car sales sites in Japan I saw one at 1.1m and a couple around the 1.5-1.7m yen mark (though they do range up in the 2.5-3m mark for later year, low km examples). This means landed prices of around the $20-$25k mark are not out of the question. Still for one already here and if it is as good as it sounds... good luck with the sale XJ40 - I kind of hope for you it does take a while to sell so you get to enjoy it longer!!
