  8. So, Swapped this car for a mint 34 GTT, believing that it was a fair swap. This 33 makes 300kw+ to the rear, I have since discovered that it was not a good idea. I accepted it needed a full respray when I first saw it, however, I had a brief look in the engine bay and found the ac thermo sitting loose due to broken brackets, (there is half a dozen other bits that need to be fixed too) Found another fan from the wreckers in good condition, went home to swap it over, cooler had to come off to get thermo out, pulled off the plumbing and found this. . Now this is leading into the plenum This car has spent the last 12 or so months living at the gold coast, this would have to be the main contributor? Personally I would run stainless at a minimum on the intake side of things, dump pipes and exhaust can use a mild steel for all i care but in the engine bay? I honestly believed the pipes would have been treated for rust. Geez, I feel like an idiot. Anyway All parts of the plumbing that are made from pieces of rubbish are to de duplicated in stainless. Will post some picks in the new year when she is in good order. Dan p.s this car came from another SAU member.

  15. Lets not decide for each other what we can afford or can not afford to drive. Fuel will be $3 per litre in 7-10 years. Sure it is worrying for most of us. buying houses were not cheap either last time I checked. Hsv are in no way targeting the majority of drivers who worry about fuel prices. The majority of this forum is filled up with 17 - 25 years olds, over commiting maybe. the skylines you drive you could never afford brand new off the show room floor originally, so you get them 10 years later, they are still performance cars, and they use more fuel then most cars on the road. the initial layout is less because its older, this does not necessarily change the cost of owning it. conerned about fuel = own a toyota yaris, not concerned about fuel = own what you want.
  16. Lift your game guys, its getting hard to read some of this lunacy from a performance car forum. P.S. My Ve clubby gets 500ish k's out of 70 litres with mostly stop start driving and 650-700 k's from brisbane to interstate.
  17. Did not take long. that happened while I was getting a drink before I posted. classic.
  18. Yeah nice one Col. It all comes down to experience I guess. It is not everday you see someone think before they talk on this forum. I do feel though that everyone will keep talking shit as normal though! Ova.
  19. Do you really think they have bypassed R&D? dumbest thing I have heard all day. holden gets ls2 300kw hsv get ls7 370kw. stop making yourself look uneducated as I am sure your not
  20. I will be there.
  21. There are a lot of unconvertable "V8 people", there's also a lot of "turbo for life" people. Then there is the group of open minded individuals who can appreciate both. This being a majority turbo forum. I think just maybe for some reason the overall feeling may lean towards turbo's being best. But all you need is an internet connection and maybe a bit of google and you can act as educated or uneducated as you please. Thanks internet. Anything with that runs a quicker qtr, handles well and drifts easily gets my thumbs up. Ova.
  22. My 34 was imported to nsw complied there used import plate attached there. I had it moved to brisbane, spoke to qld transport, they said the import plate and roadworthy/safety cert are not enough to register the vehicle, I spoke to an engineer about the Lo-3 or Lo-1 mod plate and cert, and he said you don't need it. However Qld transport have asked me to get one so he is doing one anyway. Anyone else have similar experiences? Cheers Dan.
