  1. Ahh cool, thanks for that! I will look into them
  2. After some more research, it appears that the difference is with the RB25DET S1 and RB25DET S2 coilpacks. Can these be used in anyway, or should I just not bother. The only reason I am asking, is cause I can get them for cheep cheep
  3. Hey Guys\Girls, I have a RB20DET, and I can get my hands on a set of SplitFires SF-DIS-005. Now, these technically aren't made for the RB20DET. The box has the following models on it: Rb26DETT, RB25DET, RB25DE and RB20DE. The SplitFire model number for my car is SF-DIS-001. Would the SF-DIS-005 work\fit at all for my engine? Don't want to buy them and then find that they don't fit :\ Cheers!
  4. Cool, looks good! I dont have the hole though, so I would cut one :\
  5. LOL Thats pretty cool, although don't have the old box filter Can I get some clarification on wether I can legally expand an existing hole in my engine bay?
  6. Indeed there is a hole, and enlarging it would actually work. I would only need a little bit more room to allow both the intercooler and the intake pipe to fit through.. I was planning to mount it as high as possible, and I still have the plastic guard attached to stop any major splashes. If I do go down this path, I would probably make the U guard as well for added protection. Also, what tubing have you used? Did you use proper piping or the same sort of rubber tubing already used?
  7. Hi, I have been searching the forums for info involving relocation of peoples air filters, and it appears there has not been alot of discussion about this. I have an R32 RB20DET and have been researching the construction of a cold air box and some cold air intake, when I realised it would be easier and possibly more effective to just relocate the air filter so that it lives in front of the front passenger tyre behind the spoiler. I just want to see whats peoples opinions and past experiences are with this in regards to implementation, effectiveness, legalities and other potential problems such as water, dirt etc. From what I can see, I may have to cut a hole in my car if I want to use a 3" pipe, as I think a 2" may be restrictive. Any comments on this? If I can get away with a 2", then there are factory holes which can be used. I have a dry Apexi filter, so I dont have to worry about water washing off the filters oil, but what about water vapour being sucked in to the engine? I have seen this done for drift cars, but they are hardly street legal and wouldn't have to worry about going through puddles etc... If this has been covered before, feel free to send me the linky Cheers!
  8. wow, i have had the exact same thing happen to me twice in my 32 on the freeway... My first thought were the fuel pump had cut out cause thats what it felt like! although, it started after a couple of mins so it wouldn't have really had time to cool down... Hmmm I might have to look at the Coil pack ignitor as well
  9. Depends if your modding the car as a hobby or not. I have been working on my car from relatively stock...... but I probably wont do it again
  10. Resistor pack was a pain to get. I ended up getting one directly from Nissan, cause the wreckers were charging about as much (if they even knew what you were talking about) Can't remember exactly but I THINK it was about $200 or something.....maybe less.... I will get a pic of it tonight if you like and post it up. Was fun wiring it up http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Gt...det-t62674.html
  11. I have the same problem starting mine when its hot. Not the starter motor as the engine turns over fine. If i don't get it started on the first attempt, it wont start at all....just keeps turning over... However (don't ask me how i figured it out), if I disconnect the first injector and try again, she will start, then I plug in the injector power again I reckon it is over fuelling or something because I can smell the fuel in the engine bay, and black smoke comes out of the exhaust after it starts. Any other ideas? BTW im running a NISTUNE remap. Would take it back to the tuners but some 'champ' rear ended me so I have been following that up....
  12. I know this has been covered a few times, but would something like this do the job? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Oil-Catch-Breather-...%3A1|240%3A1318
  13. Maybe they have changed, but when I insured with them (and still am) they allowed for unlimited modifications. Only thing they were iffy about was special paint. The only time the premiums went up was when i had installed new stuff and wanted to increase the total amount my car is is insured for.... Better of just calling them...
  14. I want to see results on a RB20....
  15. Yeah I have heard bad things about these, but can't talk from experience. May be a whole lot of hearsay for all I know..
  16. Cool, I think i will just give it another shot. Lets hope the air con still works.....been about a year
  17. Windows down is better anyway!!! Enjoy the summer heat!!! Slightely off topic.....When i first got my car I noticed my belt for the aircon was cracking. So i replaced all the belts and everything was fine until i noticed the aircon belt had completely split a month later. Probably another few weeks later and the whole belt is completely farked and snapped off.. Either way, At first I figured it was because it was hitting something. But I have checked and there is heaps of clearance... Can the groves get too sharp, or is it possible to get a dodgy belt? Has this happened to anyone else? I know its off topic, but missus is on my case to get my air con sorted >
  18. Geees bad luck man (but kinda good luck as well) It's crazy how much it varies with cops. I got done during double demerits just crusing down mullaloo drive. 69 in a 50 zone...... I know it's stupid but when you live like two streets down you tend to relax a bit in your own neighbourhood.. Either way, cop pulls me over, we talk a bit. I accept the fine, and he sends me on my way. For starters, my back tyres are waaaaay border line and are next on the list to replace, and he didn't even check this or ask me to pop my bonnet......crazy..
  19. Isn't it entrapment?
  20. Ok, so they are larger wheels, not just stronger ones which can handle more punishment...
  21. Anyone ?
  22. Give this a read: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Sp...ge-t177341.html
  23. Don't think you will get 220-230 with a RB25 turbo.....Maybe if it was high flowed..
  24. Depends what your after.. You will need to do a FMIC, Fuel Pump, Injectors, EBC before considering any power. Then you WILL need a computer or a remap... Even when bolting on a R33/34 turbo, you should do the above... I am running all basic mods plus injectors and a remap with a R34 Turbo and am just shy of 200rwkw.....next step is maybe a highflow or a aftermarket turbo...once again it depends on what you are after....
