kidafa replied to kidafa's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
No not really he still managed to make it f**king pain full. Scrubbing hard enough with the brush to make a few small cuts then ENSURING he got citrus degreaser in them prick. -
Hi Ben, Welcome to the SA stag community . You could put your car on the rollers just to see if its behaving well ect even though its stock..... Also will give you a base figure so you can see how much your mods are improving things as you do them If not im sure everyone will be fine with you coming down just to spectate and shoot the shit with us. So what is it? Series 1 or 2? RS4V or S or RS ...? Color ect ect... Hope its not a stinking hot day :S Not sure if dyno runs on a stinker of a day is a good idea for a car haha Cheers, Chris

Passanger Drive Shafts, Cv Boots And Joints....
kidafa replied to kidafa's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Mate you did not want to be ANYWHERE near the garage when this was going down! haha Even better once I had gotten as far as I could I had to get straight into the shower to get ready for grandparents 80th.... Was so filthy I stood in the shower and my brother sprayed my back with degreaser and scrubbed it with a brush (was 36 degrees that day plus heat from car worked topless) More Boot info in relation to a Series 1 RS4 Passenger inner boot: Original part number: 39741-058U7 (now superseded) New part number: 39741-05U85 Cross references with a D22 Nissan Navara thats Thailand built -

Passanger Drive Shafts, Cv Boots And Joints....
kidafa replied to kidafa's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
No joke why didnt you tell me before!! haha Well mine were a PRICK. Saying that im not a mechanic but far from it! Have done numerous car things on stags like timing belts 26 turbos ect but ehhh drive shafts and CV's NO THANK YOU! As ive gone this far with it I'd be fine doing it again as I now know what not to do (aka dislocate the opposite cv) but if Id go to the effort or not... Im unsure.. Sure Id take the shaft out and give it to the specialist to save on R & R but yeah ..... -
Passanger Drive Shafts, Cv Boots And Joints....

OK! MORNING ALL! So you've got the shaft out old ruined boot cut off, your the definition of a grease monkey and its time to attempt to get into the join itself. So to remove the bearings and holder A from the splined shaft B you must remove a circlip up the top holding it on. Internal circlip pliers and its an easy job just dont loose the f**ker! You get the circlip off then realise that the bearing unit is pressed f**kING hard onto the splined shaft. So what you do is grab a mallet hold THE SHAFT in the centre NOT on the end/ other joint and smack it off. The mistake I made was for the last blow to get it off i held the shaft on the other end of the opposite cv joint, on the last smack the bearings came off the spline and the other cv joint (with fine boot that needed ZERO attention) seemed to dislocate itself.... MOTHER f**kER! So I remover the straps of the the good boot as i dont want to cut it of as its perfectly fine. Ive manage to snap some kind of clip i believe that holds that joint on the shaft. Any one have any idea how to remove the joint thats closest to the wheel on the shaft? So I've cleaned everything up and will get the old man to drop the shaft to a shaft specialist tomorrow as im working. Thankfully my brother will lend his ACTUAL volvo to me to drive to work in. Dono how much it will cos me as im not sure if the outside cv just needs a new clip and regrease or if I've Farked it. Thankfully I was attempting this more as a learning curve than to save coin... But I stress dont do cv's or boots yourself if you dont have to! For future reference these are the Nissan Part numbers for the cv Boots for a Series 1 RS4: Pity I didn't find these part numbers earlier as I would have realised the boots weren't the same for passenger and drivers side shafts.. Most annoying is its 32 degrees here today on Sunday I usually work but had someone lined up to cover me to take the jet ski out as a mates taking his out... But the stags the tow car -
Allrighty... I've had a split cv boot for a while know as some may be aware about threads on pulling shaftsDRIVE SHAFT REMOVAL and post from other bits and pieces in regards to boots... Firstly removing the shaft doesnt just involve: Remove hub nut (its a 36mm masive f**ker for future reference all) Remove bolt to sway bar Remove 2 bolts for lower ball joint Remove 6 bolts holding shaft in You also need to: remove strut/coil over unit remove two bots on the end of the arm the lower ball joint joins to get a second set of hands and STRONG arms to move the hub while you yank on the shaft in all directions trying to figure how the f**k this thing comes out and then ocne you get it out leaves you wondering how the hell your gonna get it back in! Anyway you've pulled the shaft out. Its messy your allready in a shit of a mood cos its suck a prick to get out and your not even at the problem yet! As your well prepared you've done prior research on the forums and got the boot kits with straps and grease at the ready so you dont have to have you mode of transport of the road... You have used THIS thread as a reference to part numbers... Once cutting the old split inner boot off you realise you shouldn't rely souly on internet forums for part numbers as those started are not gonna fit for the inner on the passanger side as where it bolts to the front diff is different to the driver side... DUUUUHHH! ok ill leave it their and continue in the morning as the woman has arrived.... SIGH :S hope she doesnt read SAU!

Post up in the for sale section WTB with what you are after. Best want to find stuff without going to the auctions IMO. Im sure there will be a few ppl out there with stock airbox's and scoops sitting in there garage that they would love to get rid of as there a large item and a properly installed pod is legal in many states. As for the wheel i'd be trying all of the jap wreckers. -

No joke isn't the new owner going to what an airbag'd wheel anyway? Stag's with AM (non airbag) wheel FTL in my mind. Its a freakin wagon, seriously how much difference is it going to make? Understandable if you have a track stag or something... -

What model is it mate? Where are you located? All working fine? What initiated it needing a reformat? -
What date are we on?

All ready tried a clean and lube.. it improved movement a bit but still doing it.... Perhaps someone has a spare set of 33 gtr stock or AM BOV's to lend cheff for half a day to see if that rids the issue?
