  1. just wondering, do we need to do anything to the hole that has been cut under the battery to prevent it from rust or anything? If so whats the go?
  2. No adam your stag has 2.... ive seen the 2nd one
  3. Thanks so much mike 40 sydney! Anychace on one pic looking down from the pipe the goes into the cut? as in looking in from the top of the enigne bay?
  4. have done one FMIC on cheffstageas series 2 over the last 12 hours (probably took about 5ish).... A fair while but we were happy with it as its out first ever FMIC install. Personally I think we took a bit to much of a "cut and shut" approach as Adam (chefstagea) currently has no washer bottle as it was in the way and he decided to cut the sucker out... still in one piece though so we shall relocate it soon After driving with the FMIC installed the car feels more responsive and the induction noise has increased To the point: Can those that have done a FMIC install please post up photos or share links to their piping from plenum to the driver side end tank on the intercooler. I'm aware that I will probably be cutting a hole in the vertical under the battery but I believe the washerbottle may also get in the way so Id like some photos to see how pople have positioned bends to dodge the washer bottle. As for the passenger side thats easy.... 1 pipe from end tank to standard side mount pipes and it all done. PS I have looked at the Intercooler thread and its pics but I cant see whats going on where the washer bottle is. Thanks in advance, chris
  5. To remove front bar on the S1 stag you must remoe the parking lights to get at a bolt thats holding the bar on... 6. How to install nipple into a Intercooler pipe: What you will need: Brass threaded nipple fitting, with a 1/8 BSP tread on end (Sprint Auto $4.95) 1/8 BSP tap kit (from motortrader $37). This kit is needed as thread on nipple is a gas thread, thus it tapers White plumbing tape 3mm Drill bit 8mm Drill bit Heat silicon/sealent Procedure: Mark the spot that you would like the nipple with a scratch Take 2mm drill bit a drill a pilot hole for the 8mm Drill out hole with 8mm drill bit and more it around a bit to make room for tap Tap 1/8 BSP thread into pipe Place 2/3 layers of plumbing tape around the threads on the nipple Screw nipple into piping and fastern firm but not over tight as intercooler piping is a bit soft could easily pull threads out Place some heatsilicon/goop around bottom edges of nut on nipple just to ensure the seal is 110% Happy days! No finish Installing your frount mount intercooler, with one less thing to worry about

  9. Hi all, Tonight adam (chefstagea) and I have got about 90% of his frount mount intercooler installed into his S2 stagea... Just got the last piece of piping to go and we have a slight question about it: On the stock piping their was a small nipple with a black line going to it... Ive seen some intercooler kits which have these nipples on the new piping. Adams kit doesnt have the nipple on the piping. What does this nipple do? Im thinking ill go get one put into the piping while hes at work tomorrow. Where can I get the nipple installed? (exhaust shop maybe?) the nipple I'm talking about is the one you can see here on the middle piece of piping: Cheers, Chris

  11. Thanks for that Damo, am aware of those.... Found some cheaper than that on Egay.... But would prefer to buy one of a SAU member to help them out.... Maybe even save some coin while im at it!
  12. slightly off topic but anyway: Last week my downhill mountain bike(inbsured for 8K so its not cheap) got pinched from the garage, was home at the time, had a race that coming weekend so was worried, drove around block found a guy alot older and biggr than me pushing it up a hill. Excahnged some words about calluing the cops and it was my bike ect ect... he proceded to put it on the ground and raise his fist's.. looking at him he was in his early 30's (im 18 go to the gym 4 times a week so got a bit of strenght behind me)..... lent back and dodged his first swing and conteracted my dodge with a wind up and got him square in the face..... was pretty much over then as his nose was well bleeding and i picked up my bike and as i did i wore one punch to my guts... he turned to start to run away... i let it go their... got my bike back end rant
  13. Hi all, Im expecting my frount mount kit this week in the post (hopefully tommorrow)... Its a HDI kit for a R33 that includes piping ect.... It will be going into a 1997 Stagea RSFour, which have a Sidemount stock cooler. Just wondering how hard the install is going to be? I have performed a timing belt change on the car and that wasnt hard at all but thats about it. Im I bike mechanic so Im pretty mechanically minded. I could wait untill the weekend and do it with a mate that has done one on a pulsar Gtir but as you would all know I'd like to get it in ASAP What do you all think? Any advice/tips/how to's? thanks in advance, chris
  14. sounds good... ill just put on the fmic without much of a overboost worry, then in a week or two ill get a EBC for it...
  15. Hi All, Going to be putting a front mount in the stagea some time this week Just wondering if the boost pressure will change at all after installing a frount mount? As I dont have a gauge or anything to check with. Im running stock boost but will be getting a electronic boost controller in the next few weeks thinking of a Greddy Profec B spec 2. By the way car is stock, so will be going from the side mounted cooler to a frount mount. thanks in advance, chris
  16. yeah im pretty dissapointed I was away for Adams cruise..... I should be able to make the one on the 11th to Victor.

  20. Hi all looking at purchasing this HDI FMIC kit. Do you think it will fit my 1997 series 1 rs4 stagea? It is stock. dimensions are 300x600x78 apparently its for a 33 gtst and a 34 gtt acording to the seller its bearly been used, and i will save a little bit of coin getting it 2nd hand, plus i get to help out a fellow SAU member. cheers chris
  21. On saterday I did the timing belt and put the new from pads in my Stag.... This was the first work Ive ever really done on a car. Ive never done an Oil change/oil filter but ive done a timing belt and brake pads It was rather easy as I had done more than enough research and had asked a number of questions. Some tips for others: My loop for the timing light at the back of the enigne was reading double timing, so I just took of the cover to the plugs and put the light onto number 1's coil pack and managed to get a descent signal I also put some bike tube on the harmonic balancer to aid the rope in getting tension to help unto that massive 27mm bolt I also had a torque wrench from work (bike shop) that proved to be very handy and a rather large pole for more leverage Im very glad I didnt pay someone to do this as i enjoyed the proccess and learnt alot along the way. Must thank; Stinky Rooster, SK, Rob (Who-on SAU), grigor and mitchy. I didnt replace the waterpump as it was spining nice and making no excess noise. BUT I DID replace the idler and tensioner pulley.
  22. Semi interested whats the condition like? Im best mates with Cheff_stagea so I may come have a look some time with him in our stags
  23. Not sure... under my bonnet the sticker says 15 deg. @700rpm
