how about a t4 60-1 im running a rb26 in my s14 for drift and looking for a single turbo setup for response too! i was leaning toward a t4 60-1 but i saw a post n the t3/t4 isn't that a little small? i dont want too small of a turbo! i need the massive response but wont too small just suffiate the motor on higher rpm? specs like t3/t4 compressor- ar.50 turbine-ar.63 that should get massive response but what about top end!???

ok well i dont know where to post this but here: got a 96 s14 and im swapping in a rb26dett i have a rb20 trans bolted to it. i moded the stock rb26 oil pan to work in the chassis and just purchased tophatperformance motor/trans mount kit. also am having the wiring done by them too. heres the questions; can i use the rb26dett started or do i use the rb20 starter with this swap? can i use the rb26dett powersteering pump? if so what do i do with the rear steering lines(my car is non hicas)? and if i cant use the pump what works in its place? anything eles i should look for or need to get/use/have to finish my swap? thanks all

your a brave man tobe putting that on your car! try contacting the ebay seller send them pixs and ask for an exchange for a better one!! i really wouldnt put that on your car! your only asking for trouble! your trying to save $500 by buying a knock off greddy peice but will cost u a 3k motor in the long run! heres a saying in the automotive feild you should live by-"if u cut enough corners, you will just end up in a circle"

Considering Turbo Setup Twin Turbo/single Don't Know
paul f replied to paul f's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
i have the cash flow to run any decent setup(5k) i just wanted to see out of the list above what was the best setup to run(out of what was posted above) what yeah think? -
well, im still stuck a deleribating on what turbo setup todo. i've go everything eles ready motor preped and my s14 240sx chassis is just sitting there waiting but im stuck on what turbo setup to run!!this is what i know- im looking for nice power numbers in the 400hp, with a great powerband but want amazing or the best i can get RESPONSE that is the main goal a very nice boost curve, i know making hp numbers out of a rb26 in not hard to do but i want a very quick spooling setup with great response. so the first selection of turbo's is what my choices are to run for my twin turbo setup. i have a choice between the three posted below. the next choices are for a single turbo setup. im not really great understanding all this turbo stuff that why im asking the pro's like you guys on this fourm, i know there are lots of turbo's to choice from and rb26 setups aren't cheap by all means but these turbo's are all around the price range i can afford so if you can try to keep comments on whats posted but please if u need to infom me by all means teach me please i would love to learn and understand, thanks in advance pual f. first turbo is a full t3 turbo 4 bolt rear exhaust housing specs.42 cold a/r • .48 Hot • 2" OUTLET • • TURBINE WHEEL: EXDUCER: 1.81", MAYOR : 2.48" • COMPRESSOR WHEEL: EXDUCER: 1.67", MAYOR : 2.36" second turbo is t3/t4specs:.50 A/R COLD .63 3" SUPER VBAND OUTLET a.. 3" INLET DIAMETER b.. 2" OUTLET .57 COMPRESSOR WHEEL TRIM .60 A/R COMPRESSOR .63 A/R TURBINE 57 TRIM third turbo is t3 super 45specs:STAGE III WHEEL 45 trim (21lb/min) 45 TRIM 2.36" INLET DIAMETER 2" OUTLET WET FLOATING BEARINGS 1/8 NPT OIL INLET T3 / T4 FOOTPRINT OK !! ok im going top mount and i need to know: fitting from the block to the -4an line(what type of fitting and where to get) and what todo for oil return line? thanks, paul
-
ok specs ar 4inch inlet 2.5 outlet .60ar cold side, and .80 hot side 3inch outlet and its a wet float bearing im looking for around 450hp but i would like boost to come in as fast as possiable i have a wideband and am going to tune with an safc neo to help the fuel curve a little too! im not looking for something amazing but with decent power but amazing responsise! what ya think?
-
alright, i realized twin turbo setup is not for me or my apllication, im gonna go with a nice size single turbo setup. now im not looking to make more than 450hp to the wheels but i need amazing response like boost at 2800rpm and up making a very nice smooth boost curve. Im going to run a twin scroll manifold with a full T4 60-1 turbo now would this allow me to run a very nice spool and great response? also what do i do with all the factory coolant/oil lines to the stock turbo? my new setup only requires one oil feed and one oil return. what is the fitting that i would need to go from the block to an -4an fitting to supply oil to my turbo what oil return do i use? can i use either the stock front/rear turbo return spots? where can i get the intake turbo pipe that splits to a "Y" shap to run twin mafs? or is this a custom peice? oh and the only mods im gonna do is cometic metal headgasket, adj. camsprockets and front mount intercooler thanks all in advance, paul F.

i am fully aware of the weight diffrence but i have full and not just coilovers but cage and all suspension setup on my car just for this motor setup! the car will drift perfect with this setup its going rb26 no matter what! but now here i was thinking, how responsive are the stock twin? because i would like to drive the car with the stock twins so i dont kill my self with out felling the power of the stock motor! i was just gonna throw so new manifolds, dump pipes and full 3inch, no cat, exhaust on it on like 12-15psi! that should get me arond 350-400 right!!! then the mafs/injectors tap out! so that should be a great start?what yeah think? thank!!
-
yes, most def. going to place the rb26 in my s14 chassis, thats all i do is drift and this is a drift car only! i like to be diffrent, and ive only seen a few (s13) with rb26's in them for drift, but yes i would def going to keep top mount but whatc ya think out of the two choices above should i run for that nice quick spool and response and still make like 400 450hp!!!??? info please!!

ok, well im new to the rb scene, ive done all the others though, 1jz,2jz,ka,sr,and even ca, but now i am freshly swapping an rb26dett into my 95 s14 240sx chassis, im am using the car for a DRIFT only setup, but ive fallen in love with the top mount twin turbo setup, the only problem here is i need great response out of this setup. im custom fabricating my own manifolds and downpipes for this setup but i need some in put on the turbo's(remember i need great response), i just pulled out of the car was a sr top mount t3/to4e setup. It made 375(untuned/SAFC)to the wheels but the boost curve was horriable, it was like an on and off switch, i dont want that with this setup, i want boost to build low and smooth curve, im not looking to do much internally unless told its a must, pretty much stock motor execpt headgasket, headstuds, z32 mafs, safc neo, and twin turbo setup im looking for 450hpish realiable but f**king fun and fast with ofcoarse great response, heres the choices that i put infont of myself now but i need other opinions on which set of turbos to run turbo choice#1- t3/to4e specs: 60 Trim compressor-.48 ar Turbine-.60 ar turbo# choice2- t3 specs: 50 trim compressor-.42 ar turbine- .48 well i could really use all input on which turbos to use in my setup also if you have any other choices i should consider please inform me but no single turbo conversion, or bottom mount turbos, i want top mount twin setup but please feel free to inform! thank you, paul f
