Its interesting how some ppl pass to begin with isnt it ... Now a days tho u cant afford to even drive a nice car without the possibility of it being taken away from u or being "randomly" checked. I do think if u have things wrong then fair enough but if someone cant find anything and they knit pick, thats a bit wrong... tell u what tho.... I'm glad to see a cop giving a young girl the fine! Unfortunately it was u but I know a couple of girls, mate sis and her mates, that have NEVER been issued a ticket on the spot.... Even if they r doing the wrong thing. Good to see i say! if ur speeding u'll get pulled up no matter what car ur in lol. Liam

I noticed Dreamgirls wasnt in the voting also..... Just a word of warning to guys with girlfriends who insist on watching it.. if u have a loud tv or home theatre system turn it down. Liam

We have done it b4.... Sometimes u get caught... sometimes u dont... Sucks to be u. but probation isnt a bad thing.... u just need to drive how every P plater should... Like a granny and learn how to drive the correct way rather than the fast way . Liam

I am looking at one this weekend, its all organised and the guy has gone to the trouble of putting back into a stacked 33 so i can hear it running and test it. Great price aswell... just wondering on what ur prices r for my whole conversion kit as I will be interested if this 25 fails a comp test on saturday, otherwise i'm pretty happy with the deal im getting from him should everything go as I would like it. Thanx Liam

I have always said buy the best of what u can afford... not followed it all that much but other ppl appreciate the advice sometimes... If u can afford a twin cam 30 or a rebuilt 25 then do it, then u know exactly what u got and its new... I could rebuild and strengthen the 20 and know I basically have a brand new engine and know whats been put in but at the end of the day its still an RB20 and i dont really chugging up hills. if i could afford it i'd be putting a......... wait for it....... 2JZGTE in the HR31 even if it was auto, halfcut = cheap... fab and labour pushes the conversion towards 8 grand, 3 grand more than a 25 conversion. If I could afford a rebuilt 25 and 25 box at the same time i'd be doing that. Its all about how much u want to spend and i dont really wanna spend over 5 grand on a car that cost me 8000. Liam

I imported my car and found out very quickly that a quoted price and what u end up paying r 2 different things. Having said that the prices in Japan were a standard cost and most of the bloody costs came from australian customs and tax etc. y does it need to go to a japanese mechanic exactly? My only costs in Japan were the cost of the car, de-registering the car and de-gassing the aircon, transport from the car yard outside of Osaka to the Port etc then it was on the boat pretty much. nah there was variations... The NEO engine was 100 100 60 52 57 97 The S1 RB25 33 version was 100 100 100 100 50 100 all r round numbers, dont really remember the exact numbers. A workshop did the comp test properly not just me doing it myself. Liam

I drive an import 31 and putting a single cam Rb30 in it would be worse for than ppl bagging me out for having a 33 lol... I do like the 33's but never really driven one enough to get used to it. I would prefer an Rb25 powered skyline than an RB30E+T. I'm not a VL fan even tho i know thatt he 30E+T gets great power and fantastic track times. I dont want one. Liam

I was going to look at a 33 tonight until i realised how far a drive it was lol... The guys doesnt seem to want to meet me any place closer either 2nite or a different day so I dont think that is going ahead. Either he thinks I'm not interested or he has got a better deal somewhere. Dont know. I guess i'll keep on the lookout for either, R31 Nismoid if the 33's feel heavier than the 31, thats not much chop at all lol... My coupe feels very heavy under brakes and thats just day to day driving. Liam

Just reading a dew things there makes me think... I know u can get R31's to handle well coz a few mates of mine have done so, brake apgrades are as easy as R32 Mspec callipers being the import HR struts and hubs etc. Wieght wise its lighter than a 33, my coupe comes in a 1300kg and has all the stock trimmings. Diff wise, isnt the RS200 longnose stronger than 32 and 33 diffs? bit of a mixed reaction. It doesnt have anything to do with what any1 else thinks. I do like how the 33's drive but they r just so common but that makes parts easier to come by. HR31 fuse box assembly from Nissan Japan cost me $160 and it is a piece of bloody plastic! Dunno about halfcuts being 6 grand, all the ones I am priced r about $4500-$5000, $3000 for an auto half cut. I am a bit impatient sometimes and have some half decent suspension lined up for the 31 should I choose to keep it, not coilovers. Think i'll take the 33 for a drive, I know i'll like it coz I prefer the 25's lol... seems very neat and tidy, just depends if i hear any noises that i shouldn't or find anything I dont like the look of lol. Thanx guys Liam

Hey guys, I'm new to this forum but have been on R31skylineclub for almost 2 years. I have an HR31 GTS-X and am a bit tired of the way an RB20 drives and looking for an upgrade. I have tried unsuccessfully to find an RB25DET in good condition ( failed compressions tests includin a complete NEO 34 DET package for 3500 ) and have been searching for a whole package with loom ecu all running parts and 5 speed gearbox. Have had a few tested and the price was around $3500 or less however these engines have failed. I'm told a healthy engine should test at 150psi across all 6 cyslinders or within 10% os the 150. Since joining this forum I had a quick squiz in the cars for sale section and found an R33 with a rebuilt RB25 with 20,000km or til december this yr warranty that I am going to have a look at it if it doesnt sell, think the guys name on here is torus.... Any1 familiar with this car and its history? I have been told that the previous owner b4 the guy selling it now blew the motor and was told what things r on the reciept from the rebuild and it sounds like it would be a good buy for what he is asking. Anyways, my problem is I love my 31, worked and saved hard to buy it, 4 yrs, and dont particularly want to sell it but am quickly running out of patience with unhealthy RB25's.... Would it be worth spending the extra and buying the whole car, R33, or be patient and wait for the right 25 for my 31..... I may be bombarded by 31 owners calling me weak. I'm told 33's r for posers and ppl who 'just wanta skyline'... Now i'll be bombarded by 33 owners .. Thanx Liam

Hi guys i'm new here, Basically i'm looking to do an RB25DET conversion in my HR31 GTS-X. I have had a few engine and gearbox packages comp tested but have been low. I am in the Northern Suburbs of Melbourne Vic I am in need of. RB25DET full motor including starter, Altenator, Turbo, Injectors, CAS etc etc Manual ECU and FULL Wiring loom including throttle position sensor, oxy sensor, AFM, coilpacks and ignition module if S1 and temp sensors RB25DET manual gearbox and decent clutch (can be standard just in decent condition for use) Preferably the Yoke for the gearbox also so my tailshaft could be modded to fit. Basically anything else I have left out to get the engine up and running in my car, carwill be engineered so standard parts needed. Have had 3 failed comp tests and all engine packages were $3400 or less including one NEO 25DET. R33 S1 or S2 will do fine, preferably something thats in a car and can be seen and heard running i.e rear end wreck but as long as a compression test can be done in front of me and the engine is healthy i'd be happy. Thanks guys Liam
