  1. Hey guys, Was just searching on this for a friedn and realised that I know a guy who was getting the injectors at a great price. The LS1 and XR6T use the same style injectors, so the LS1 style bolt in replacement Motron 60Lb injectors would also work right? If so, these guys do eight (yes 8) Motron 60Lb injectors for US$379 so surely US$48 per injector + freight and then buying injector clips etc would make them affordable compared to the Siemens Deka ones? Anyway, the link is HERE
  2. Its a late model nissan maxima fwd vq35 motor, usa sourced gearbox and a murano transfer case, the turbo according to the owner is a GT40R. The turbo sits above the gearbox and has been a monster on the dyno. He has had problems with diff ratios but is fixing that shortly. I'll link the pics when he gets them up I am having the non turbo v6 fitted to my own rally car once he has perfected the conversion process
  3. I think the idea is that it is small and light. I own one and I know they are a little pugnosed but even without a turbo, i think a V6 version would stomp a R3x Golf into the ground. it looks like the N14 Q is going to compact attack and maybe debut the GTiR at the same event hope to bring mine down in full rally trim and see if I can spin the muddies for the length of the track if the V6 GTiR is running, it will probably have as much wheelspin as me but for different reasons hehehe
  4. Bit of an update for you all. Beware of a stock looking red N14 Pulsar Q with the only give away being a V6 badge under the guard blinker. The owner had it tuned a few days ago for 193.3Kw@wheels and intends on submitting it to Zoom in the next few weeks once he gets the rest of it finished.
  5. took the non turbo v6 pulsar out around lunchtime for a test drive with its owner. all I can say is that things is as smooth as jessica alba's body pulls from stupidly low revs like a 15 year old with a box of porn videos. would love to take this thing to a track event one day a nd see how it handles and accelerates out of corners. would give the commondoor v6 guys and some of the v8 owners a shoick watching a car that looks like their wives grocery cart passing them.
  6. The Nissan V6 torque curve is apparently pretty flat, so it would still have similiar torque figures at 4000rpm. The V6 also make 12kw more peak power at a lower rpm. I was reading about a few guys with Nissan Senters over in the USA who are running a similiar conversion and getting mid 12's on non turbo front wheel drive setups with near stock conversions. Give the Honda VTAC brigade a run for their money, hahaha SR20 motor is definitely all alloy, I was looking at my motor this afternoon. The N14 1.6L Pulsar motor is a cast block as well. Also, a correction to the U12 article listed. They did not run four coils on the U12 motor, it was only the rear wheel drive SR20DET's that ran multi coil ignition until the super sexy SR20VET motor was produced.
  7. The Nissan 3.5L V6 makes around 363 newton metres at around 4800rpm in 350Z form and the Galant motor makes 363 newton metres at 4000rpm when stock. It looks pretty similiar to me.
  8. GTiR definitely weighs over 1100kg, so it looks like the boosted V6 could be legal. I guess it all comes dwon to which competition rally or tarmac class I can put this sort of thing into. But arent the Mitsubishis only a TT 2.5L and apparently make the same peak torque value as the non turbo Nissan V6 motor I thought about that too but was told as the V6 has a lot more empty space inside the motor, so it needs less metal mass. Was told the whole V6 engine weighs around 150kg with flywheel and clutch fitted. SR20 weighs about the same according to my research.
  9. Well, I booked my GTiR in this week to have the engine pulled out for a freshen up at the local mechanic. Should make my little car a bit more competitive next year and give a few gtr skyrines a run for their money hahaha So while I was sitting around, I noticed the workshop has an N14 Pulsar 1.6L shopping trolley sitting up the back of the workshop with the bonnet up, when I noticed that the engine bay did not look quite right. Sure enough, the workshop has fitted or should I say squeezed a 3.5L V6 into the engine bay for another customer. Apparently it is from a Nissan Maxima and is running a GTiR type 5 speed front wheel drive gearbox pumping out some decent power with a few breathing mods. I was pretty much in awe, as this would give a few competition spec Golf R32's a run for their money if it ever gets traction As I was trying to wipe the drool from the floor, one of the mechanics then ushers me into the back shed to show me what I can only describe as a wet dream. Sitting on a forklift pallet is the same V6 motor, with a cable shift gearbox which is reportedly a 6 speed and apparently a Murano transfer case. The crazy thing is, it has one of the biggest turbos I have ever seen mounted just next to the gearbox at the front of the motor. The mechanic who showed me did not know specifics but apparently, this setup is bound for a GTiR as the V6 motor weighs the same as a SR20 motor and the Murano transfer case will allow the GTiR to remain AWD. My regular tuner and question answerer has been out of reach for a few days, so being a bit of a newbie to this sort of thing, my questions to you guys is: Could either engine combo really ever be street registered? Like a 75% increase in capacity is crazy! Don't they have rules for that sort of thing!!!!!!!!!! What sort of power potential would this combo make?! What sort of boost could the V6 run? What is the life expectancy of the driver? roflmao Does anyone see any major reasons why this would not work. The reason I ask, is that as my car is having the enigne pulled out... I was thinking about making an offer on this setup ;) Any help/advice would be appreciated
  10. After a RB20, RB25 or single RB26 AFM in working condition, prefer with a few cm's of wiring loom with plug to suit. Got a Bikirom in my GTiR and can easily set the AFM up to suit for any of these. GTR AFM would be ideal but am willing to take anything, as long as it works. Would also consider an N60 Maxima AFM if anyone has one in working order. Thanks
