yeah... i dont think its really doing much, in fact its doing nothing for your right rocker cover, and the vacuum from the turbo is probably sucking the fumes from the left cover through the catch can anyway. is there a reason you didnt block off the hose from your rocker cover to the turbs? it looks the goods anyway (Y)

there are four or five bolts holding the top half on, plus the crank angle sensor. unplug and mark where the cas is relative to the cover with a paint pen or something. then undo the bolts holding the cas on and pull it out. then undo the five bolts (four around the edges, one in the centre) holding the top half of the cover on. inspect belts and replace cover, then replace cas making sure you have lined up the locating flat on the end of the shaft with the appropriate locating hole. should about do it. please someone correct me if i am wrong.

You Know You Drive A Skyline When .. ... .
Rowdy replied to SAGTS-4's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
hah ha at honda drivers getting in skylines- my mate is a prelude nut and when he got his gen5 with vtec he wouldnt stop raving about it... so i drove it and couldnt even feel where it kicked in to used to the turbs. also give 32gts-t's a break, at least these guys arent driving bommodores or foulcans. WHEN: you rock up at a party and everyone comes outside to see who's car it is- and then two of your girlfriends hot female friends ask if they can make out in your car, because its a skyline (i said yes- just dont break anything!). also lol at turbo timers in car parks and i'll see what remarks i get when i put my GTR badge on my rodeo. WHEN: you kick your dads cars out of the shed that he owns so you have room for your baby. WHEN: commonwhore drivers rattle off a list of mods theyve fitted to theyre car and you mention you have a skyline and they look ashamed. -

No problems this is a flux capacitor. notoriously faulty. value is dependent on how far back/forward in time you are stuck. -
yep, have figured that out myself in the mean time some mug told me they where australian made. thought id do an ask around. i didnt think they where, for that price though. thanks man, Rowdy.

ok so my turbo oil seal shat itself. it took me maybe an hour and a half to rip it off and tear it apart. i found the turbine wheel also has a heap of chips in it... from what, idn, it was a cheap chinese one, maybe they are biodegradable like bin bags. ive got about 800 bucks to spend on a new turbo. nothing fancy needed. anyone got expeience with the pro boost series of turbo charger? ive got a 32 with an RB20, i was thinking about theyre gt 28 style turbo... http://www.proboost.com.au/level1.asp?planttype=turbos cheers, Rowdy.

hmm... hopefully not the valve stem seals >.< i'll have to pull the turbo off when i get time then. im working a shutdown at the moment, so i'll post up what i find when i finish. thanks hombre's.

G'day guys, after a bit of enthusiastic boosting thismorning, i pulled up at an intersection only to have a heap of whitish smoke go drifting past me. from my exhaust. so it doesnt seem to be smoking when im driving, just when im idling. when i rev it at idle, it gets worse... oil pressure and temp is normal. it still drives fine, just smokes a lot >.< the car is a '92 GTST RB20DET and has a nismo front mount, k&n pod, and some shitty hybrid turbo (think monsta- not my choice, previous owners!) and a 3" zorst. any help on what could have happened would be much appreciated. . . im thinking maybe the oil seal in the turbo? idn. flippen thing i was just about to splurge on coil packs, new zorst, boost controller and a tune. thanks guys

hey guys, thanks for your support. i got an email from the vic roads wench on friday, after they stuffed me around for a couple of weeks, saying that my car had was able to be registered but now has to go for a 'high risk' inspection. what the hells that? so im taking it up on friday to seaford vic roads, and im sure something else is going to go wrong (i.e. a team of engineers waiting to defect everything bar the ashtray). anyone know what that involves? cheers, Rowdy.

G'day guys, i've recently gotten into a bit of a pickle with my '92 gts-t. i bought the car recently off a guy i work with, without roadworthy or reg. it was pretty cheap, and he had owned it and it had been registered since 99. before he sold it to me the rego lapsed. anyway, ive taken possesion of it and fixed a few things, then taken it for a RWC (passed) and a rego appointment. everything was going swimmingly, the numbers on the car and the plates on the firewall where matching, and the new number plates where on the bench ready to be handed over when something went all pear shaped and the plates where quickly snatched out of my reach >.< apparently, the vehicle was not on one of theyre databases, and the vehicle had previously been registered with uncomfirmed numbers. so the woman told me she had entered the numbers but it would take 24 hours for them to clear and i should come back later. i went down yesterday, only to have the woman tell me that my car had NEVER recieved import compliance, and therefore could NEVER be registered. i asked how that could be because it had been registered previously, and she just kept reffering to some magical computer glitch in 1999. i went home and rang the guy who sold it to me, who said it didnt need import compliance because it was a personal import. i looked all this up, and checked out the plate on the car, and sure enough its all true. the plate signifies the vehicle is able to be registered, right? so today i went down to vic roads again, and they spent another half hour investigating, before they come up with this idea that my vehicles forms where never lodged with DOTARs because the importer was dodgy and he didnt own the vehicle overseas before importing it. what do i do! now the woman wants me to photograph the yellow personal import plate and email it to her. im starting to get really frustrated with this horrible process. ffs. any advice or info would be greatly appreciated guys. Thanks very much, Rowdy.

ha ha id like to hear you make that noise in real life another symptom of my cylinder not firing was the engine always 'hunting' at idle. when i fixed it, it smoothed out a lot. this made a funny noise... let us know how you go ciao, Rowdy.

hey mate mine does the same. it sometimes sits where it should, other times climbs to seven grand, sometimes nothing. wierd. i think its a poor earth fault. dont really care though... hah ha.

hey mate, i had a problem with my 6th cylinder not firing, and the coilpack disconnect and swap is the go. this will definaetly show up wether or not the cylinders are firing, but the coilpacks still might not be the problem. you can put a long screw driver up to each injector, and put your ear to that, and you should be able to hear the injectors actuating, by way of a clicking sound. otherwise you can use a multimeter to see wether or not they are pulsing, by way of the voltage pulsing. compression test is next. i ended up trying an igniter pack and coil loom from another car, just to rule that out, but a check for continuity with a multimeter should be fine. in the end my problem was the inlet manifold gaskets, and them being blown out. i checked this by spraying some startya bastard near the affected cylinders inlet tract, and the idle picked up and smoothed out for a second. cost me 40 bucks i think for new gaskets, from nissan, and a couple of hours work. hope this helps, Rowdy.
