For the sake of starting a new thread, Just sussing out some more options, one of my current injectors is leaking (replaced o-rings and no difference, i assume its cracked maybe?). Im going to upgrade pump and injectors now as well as the SS1. Basically question is should I just keep the resistor pack and stay with low imp GTR injectors, or revert back to the standard RB20 setup and look for some high imp injectors? I've noticed there's a sale on RHD at the moment on SARD 800cc's too. Edit: Also going to pick up a new Walbro pump, if I get the E85 compatible pump will it be safe to use 98 for a while and then when im ready switch to E85 later on? Or is it designed solely for E85?

I thought about it for a bit and came up with if I push the vg on e85 and it lets go I'm up for a turbo anyway. So I'll get the ss1 in tuned and running and then look at e85 once I'm happy with how the cars going at that point in time.

Just ordered a ss1 from stao. Now just Gunna double check everything's sweet so there's no surprises when it comes to tune time.

Possible Coil Pack Issue - Or Something Worse?
Tonks replied to lego's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
If you can't rev it past 2500 it sounds like its in limp home mode so starting at the afm is probably your best bet. Also as well as cleaning it pull the cover off and have a look at the soldering. It may be time for a resolder. -
Done deal then. Thanks for the honest and excellent input guys!
-
Forgot also, would it be worth while upgrading the exhaust manifold or retaining the stock one. I'm leaning towards leaving it seeing as it only a rb20?
-
Thanks guys, makes the decision a bit easier. My only thought running E85 on the vg30 at around the same boost level would help prolong its life?

Hey people, I currently have an rb20det with; -Z32 AFM -GTR 444cc injectors -Walbro 250lph pump -VG30 turbo (rb20 wastegate) running 15psi off a boost t -Intercooler -Cat back -Nistune Currently running around 190rwkw. Now I have in my head two paths to go down. 1st, I was thinking leaving the vg30 turbs on there (has nil shaft play and blades look fantastic still) and upgrading to an E85 450lph Walbro pump, larger injectors and getting it tuned on E85. With that in mind what size injectors would I be looking at 750's or 1000cc's. 1000's seem massive to me on an rb20 with small to mild mods? 2nd path I was thinking was to go a hypergear hiflow and retune. With either option i'm going to upgrade dump pipe and electronic boost controller. Just after some opinions on which option would be a better bang for my back upgrade for the lack of a better term. Cheers Steve.

Got the manifold machined, wasn't too bad to begin with but while it was out it couldn't hurt. New studs, washers and spacers, metal multi layer manifold gasket and replaced turbo-mani and dump gaskets. Wow haha wish I did that ages ago haha Car feels completely different, can't wait to go and get it re-tuned now and see the improvments, last tune was 18-24 months ago. Thanks to all who replied

Just got to a Nissan dealership if they have them in stock you can check them there?

R33 Gtst Defi Din Pocket Gauge
Tonks replied to bingy iree's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Single DIN size is the standard size, so it will fit any DIN pocket. I assume you are talking about the these gauges? (That's on 32 but you get the idea) Also dimensions are on defi's website if you still need to see. -
Time For Some Power But First I Need An Ecu So Help!
Tonks replied to trxbal's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
If you can find an rb26 pfc you can use that with some slight mods. -
I see what you mean, but they haven't come off the gasket they're separate individual gaskets. I too thought the same but if u look close enough they were never from the main gasket. I've got a multi layer one I'm about to put on this arvo along with new ones for everything else. Hopefully fixes all my exhaust leaks.
-
Hey guys and gals quick few questions. Pulled my turbo and mani off today to change my gaskets and replace manifold studs. My manifold gasket looked a bit average and I had a closer look on the manifold itself. There were two to three smaller sections also on the manifold itself. Is this someones average attempt at trying to seal a leak by re-using the old gasket and some new smaller sections? Or is this normal? You can see in the photo below one of the sections had broken off plus some smaller ones in question. When the car comes on boost above 10psi I get a high pitched whistle (sounds like a kettle on steriods), hence why I was changing all my exhaust gaskets.

Those alcons are effing massive, also plans for rear caliper? Looks hilariously tiny on that rotor
