  1. Can i take first dibs on the seat rail and possibly cam gears, awaiting closer pics (can pick up).
  2. Garage 13 had the kits advertised for about 7k, so add fitting and paint on top of that and it'll be 9-10k.
  3. Hey, are the guards GTST or GTR?
  4. 235 on 10" isn't that much of a stretch, ask some of the drifter boys who they use or find a tyre shop and explain that the tyres will only be for track usage.
  5. Forgot to mention i need a bonnet as well, don't think i can edit the title though.
  6. Hey guys, i need some guards to replace my CF ones for compliance. Can get fibreglass ones for a good price but just seeing if anyone has a pair of aluminium ones, especially gunmetal grey so i don't have to paint! Will pay postage. cheers Neil
  7. No worries, genuine CF bonnet prices aren't for everyone
  8. I've got an R32 GTR Shift Sports Aero Bonnet (genuine dry CF, not a fibreglass mix). Looking for around $1700.
  9. Indeed, talk about getting ripped!
  10. Nope, no warning for me :s I'm not going to get the car complied with the doors, i'll get replacement doors, guards and bonnet. Doors work just the same as normal ones. I would have done the brakes this weekend but i'm not at home!
  11. Its nice, but doesn't really suit street driving as much as the other 2 and i've really got no experience with rotaries compared to nissans. The s14 is the heaviest of the silvia series, and does have better standard brakes, suspension and wheel track than the s13, but prices are pretty high also. The s13 is around 1120kg standard, and its pretty easy to get them down towards 1000kg. I'm not sure why the GTST doesn't appeal to me, i guess i'd sooner just stick with the GTR.
  12. Nothing was touched on my car either
  13. I'm not really keen on a GTST, i really like the size and nimbleness of a silvia but then i've never had a modified GTST. Costs would still be higher though because of the extra weight over a silvia, 6 cyl, less aftermarket parts availability.
  14. I got my GTR last week. Very keen to take it for a drive but the brakes need a bleed first.
  15. So taking that example from Wakefield a highly modded s13 would run around 1.08 and a stock to mild GTR would do around 1.08 to 1.10? I'd be happy with that. I understand where you're coming from with the rb25/30 r32 gtst but i don't have the time or patience to go through with another project car. If i could buy one already done then i'd consider it.
  16. Well i did see a clubman with a s6 13BT engine and running gear on my105 but i'm 29,900 short. Thanks for the advice, its exactly what i'm after so keep it coming!
  17. Funny you mention that Harry, i just PMed Darren regarding each of his cars at the Gatton Sprints so i hope he doesn't mind me posting up this excerpt: "Yeah 37.6 is my best in the GTR, I've only run the Onevia on 215/45/17 Feddy's and it ran 40 flat or there abouts on those, 180SX would be around the same times as GTR on proper semi's but not any quicker seeing as it wouldn't get off the line as hard but would handle better." I'm not sure exactly what each of his cars have done, i just asked him for a quick summary. I'm not aiming to win these things, but i'd love to be competitive, say in the top 15-20%. I think i'd be more satisfied being at the top of my class than having a fractionally faster overall time, but being lower in my class.
  18. What colour are yours Jake? I'm after a gunmetal grey pair otherwise i'll just get some fibreglass ones for $300 and spray them
  19. The reason i said softer suspension was because my old silvia had 14/8 spring rates and it made it very difficult to get any power to the ground, it'd just light the tyres up when it hit boost in 1st, 2nd or 3rd. I've tried looking at lap times of a few courses but i'm yet to find a list that's got both a GTR and s13 on it. I'm sure the GTR would have the upper hand if i had money to spend on things like adjustable suspension arms, N1 turbos, injectors, brake upgrade, etc but i told myself i wouldn't spend that kind of money on a 32 because i'd rather buy an EVO7 or something for the same $$. I'll have to head to some track days and compare times of drivers. There's a Nissan vs Honda track day on the 24th of this month with a variety of stock and modded silvias and GTRs, with both experienced and novice drivers so it'll be a good test.
  20. Yes, but i don't really want to start upgrading turbos, injectors, etc on the GTR as its just an endless money pit. It'd be a little while before i could even put coilovers into the GTR, whereas the Silvia would already be fully sorted. But i spose that's also being a bit greedy and wanting it all now, not looking at the future potential of each. Traction was a bit of a problem in my Silvia, but i think with some slightly softer suspension and decent tread it'd be better. I'm still yet to take my GTR for a good drive to see how it handles, maybe i'll end up liking it.
  21. I'm not sure, only just got it. Considering that the GTR already has aluminium bonnet and guards they should take about 70kg off the total weight. Doors are about 4kg and cost $4500 new, each!
  22. Thanks Harry, i'd already planned on heading to the Mt Cotton Hillclimb so i can't wait to see how various cars go on the course.
  23. Thanks guys, its good to hear relatively unbiased opinions on a car specific forum. I've got a little Micra for a daily and other weekend cars so impracticality doesn't really worry me. The weight of a GTR really puts me off, when the silvia makes 240rwkw and weights 1050kg and the GTR puts out the same power but is 400kg heavier. Replacing or rebuilding an engine is much cheaper too, and gearboxes are cheaper to buy and easier to replace. I'd be really interested to know or see examples of how track times vary between the 2, on longer and sprint circuits.
