  1. Summary: VS Long version: Hey guys, i attended my first street sprint as a spectator the other day and it made me keener than ever to become involved. I'd like to start doing some street sprints, hillclimbs and track days, and am trying to decide which car would best suit my needs between an R32 GTR and a silvia/180sx. I know the GTR is probably a better car over all, but it really comes down to bang for buck because for the price of a stockish GTR i could have a highly modded silvia. I've just imported a GTR with the following mods: Nissan R32 GTR R34 GTR ball bearing turbos Nismo heavy duty clutch (twin plate?) Blitz 17" rims Top Secret front brake pads, Project 2 rears Invidia cat-back exhaust Aftermarket front pipes Carbon fibre vented bonnet Carbon fibre vented guards Carbon fibre doors Carbon fibre Nismo rear lip Cusco half roll cage Driver's harness Nismo front strut brace If i was to keep the GTR i would probably only be able to afford to do: Hicas lock kit Oil cooler Aftermarket struts/coilovers Sell the CF panels and get a respray Now compare that to my old silvia for around the same money (which i would buy back in a heartbeat if i could) which had too many mods to list, but basically: Engine work to around 240rwkw Lots of cooling mods Extensive lightening 17x9.5" lightweight rims all round Coilovers, chassis bracing, all adjustable suspension arms, sway bars, strut bars Bucket seat, guages, wheel, etc R32 GTR brakes, 5 stud So overall a GTR may be a better car, but for the money you can buy a mean silvia. My old silvia was very light and i doubt i will ever find another Nissan that handled the way it did so even though i've now got a GTR i was thinking it might be a better car for sprints which have a lot of tight corners (eg. Gatton Sprints is 1km with 4 corners and 3 tight chicanes). I'm not poor but i don't have buckets of money to throw at the car either so it would also be a lot cheaper to mod and repair, and i have a lot more knowledge of silvias. The car won't be daily driven, but the GTR would be much more street legal. What do people think?
  2. I had 245s on 16x8s and they fitted alright, i wouldn't go much wider though.
  3. Are doors complete with glass, window motors, exterior handles, intrusion bars, trim, etc? Any idea on cost of postage to Toowoomba (4350)?
  4. Is that a standard or custom colour?
  5. Emailed you regarding some r32 panels.
  6. Yeah, keep us informed Importer. I've got a '90 GTR coming in tomorrow that i plan on compliancing myself.
  7. Not sure if anyone still checks this, but FAST me please BNR32-013621 cheers Neil
  8. It used to be 40 but after long discussions it was put up because its much harder to put in 100 spam posts unnoticed in a short time than it is to do 40. Of course there's people with 1000s of only spam posts, but not all in the 1 day to post up an ad. Also, posts in the off-topic, members discussion rides and maybe a few others, don't count towards your total which helps reduce the spam a bit.
  9. I've been on NS for a few years and while there's a lot more 15 year old tossers that need to be banned from there you shouldn't discount the small number of people with lots of experience and serious machines. Anyway, while banning was a bit harsh, the rules are there for a very good reason. I along with many others have been ripped off for a fair bit of money and such instances have decreased drastically since the rules were put in place. Think how many scammers could have been avoided on here if similar measures were put in place.
  10. In the past i've only had one car but i lost my licence towards the end of last year due to defects so my GTR won't be a daily. I've bought a Micra to use as its much cheaper to run, insure, park, leave anywhere and i won't rack up kms on the GTR.
  11. Ah, that would be Tomei and that would be the crank. What happened to all those people last year with rb26 cams, did they ever get them sorted?
  12. Results of all the s15's i could quickly find with similar mods (of course it varies dyno to dyno). t28bb is ball-bearing and steel wheeled, it'll run over 16psi no problems. for a reading of 199.8rwkw on my car [s15]with standard AFM, standard manifold, standard injectors, standard fuel reg and standard cams boost = 17psi I have the following: S15 JDM t28 turbo stainless exhaust manifold fmic exhaust pump 264/264 hks cams pod I get 197rwkw@11psi on an old S13 SR20 A good friend of mine has 200rwkw from his S15, It has a front mount, complete 3 inch exhaust, pod filter, walbro fuel pump and a wolf 3d plug in computer. It made 200rwkw on 18psi with the standard injectors and turbo I dynoed my car [s15] the other day and she's pulling 195rwkw @ 15psi and it was a hot day. I'm more than happy with the stock turbo. I have these mods. Trust R-SPL cooler Apexi filter Apexi PowerFC Apexi AVC-R HKS dump HKS front pipe Apexi GT cat Fujitsubo Power Getter cat back Nismo fuel pump Nismo 555 injectors. My S15 made 192kw with standard ECU, the same mods you mentioned in your original post (exhaust, fmic, pod filter, apexi avc-r), only thing on top of that was the addition of a GTR fuel pump. That was with 1.05bar boost and AFR of 12.2:1. 200rwkw is about the max you'll get from the AFM and injectors without raising fuel pressure. You won't make much more from the turbo either without cams.
  13. 190-200rwkw, but i'd be getting a bigger fuel pump.
  14. Definately not legal to mount it that way, rounded edges wouldn't meet minimum diameter requirements, same as with intercoolers hanging out the bottom of front bars (and you're just asking for it to be damaged/stolen).
  15. I didn't read everything that Sydneykid said, but i have tried court stall tactics before so that in the meantime i came off my Ps and onto my Opens, but i still lost my licence because in Qld the points are backdated to the time of offence. I've taken both suspension options before and if you can at all manage to last 3 months without your licence (riding a bike to work, etc) then i'd take that option, get it all over with. That's what i did the first time but now i'm on a 12 month probation and its an awfully long time. I had to sell my highly modified silvia and buy a daily driver, and now i'm rarely going to be able to drive my GTR for another 9 months until i come off probation. And with regards to insurance, most (if not all) insurance companies ask if you've had a suspension or probation.
  16. I don't think they're going to help it handle any better, 19" rims weigh a fair bit compared to a 17" rim.
  17. Getting the AFRs tuned on a dyno if obviously going to make the biggest difference, even if its only a remap or SAFC, you're sure to get that money back in fuel savings before long.

  19. Don't you even start on what you've been going through, you have no idea of the greiving i was going through when you made me drag you through the courts. I'm not going to say anything else in this thread. If you want me to allow you freedom to sell your goods then pay me my god damn money.
  20. Riiight, so you can order a new bodykit but you can't give me $176? You got paid out for 4 weeks of holiday pay but couldn't spare $176 that you said you'd give me 2 months ago?
  21. Take it to an anodiser, will only cost around $50.
  22. Beware of this seller, he is not to be trusted. He has owed me money for the past 10 months, was ordered by a court to pay to me the money 4 months ago after i sued him, and i'm still waiting to receive all of my money.
  23. It might just be a matter of driving round to a few tyre shops and asking if they can do it. I've had similarly stretched tyres taken off and put on with no problems.

  25. You can use the r32 engine crossmember and slot the mounts to sit the engine lower. I've heard someone say that you can use the r33 crossmember but i've never seen the results myself. Sump is fine.
